Hi I’m Dylan Smith, my channel is all about ESKATE. I purchased my first electric longboard back in 2020, the meepo v3 ER, and have thoroughly enjoyed the hobby ever since with my Dad. I am looking to hopefully grow the channel and bring more attention to the ESKATE scene in the UK!
MEEPO V3 Update // Any Issues?
I have owned the MEEPO V3 for almost 2 years now, here is just another follow up video of my experience, and just a general meepo chat and future ideas for the channel. Enjoy the video, take care, stay safe and happy carving 🛹

Loving my new MEEPO V3, which is my first electric board. It’s incredibly quick, torquey and just keeps pulling. This wasn’t max speed I had to let off but I reach 26mph which is around 41kmh. It will keep accelerating to about 30mph. I will be doing a full review of this board and comparing it to my dads MEEPO NLS pro soon. So stay tuned for that! happy carving my dudes 🤙🏻

Was the legend your 1st longboard? I'm torn between this and the lush freebyrd which is a beginner dropthrough board. Was the legend hard to start on?
Hi mate, so sorry I never saw your comment. I’d personally go with the Legend if you still haven’t made a decision. You’ll enjoy either, but the drop through is more limited. I found the legend a little different, I started on my mates drop through, and it’s more stable as it’s lower to the ground and less bouncy, but I much prefer the feel of the legend, it’s nice having that bounce and pop under foot.
This board looks f*#kn sick
Sorry for late reply man, I can 100% say that over the couple of years I have owned it, it’s never stopped putting a smile on my face and works like it did the day I got it. Just gotta look after them
@@ESKATEUK I love it so much it’s so much cooler than your typical sk8 board! Is it easier to use?
@@ghostface3254 I would say it is definitely easier to pick up, I found it still a learning curve and I’d done longboarding for a few years prior to this. So it is harder than it looks, but definitely something you could pick up! It’s all about balancing and leaning forward, because if you lean back or don’t plant your weight on your front foot, the board will go from under you and you’ll be on your back. It’s happened to me a fair few times 😂
Were that drag race at?
nice review !
Thankyou!
what a Bri-ish man haha.
Hahah very Bri-ish indeed!
The price difference between the v3 er and nls pro is only 50 dollars and they have the same range. Do you think it's just better to go with the nls pro?
Yes that is true they’re fairly close, and honestly it depends on what you are looking for. The new NLS pro uses an adapted V3 ESC instead of the hobbywing ESC, and it is much softer, the acceleration is very smooth, even more so than the old hobbywing version, I’d go as far to say it’s a bit too smooth as it seems like the power has been very limited on the lower end. It’s still much more comfortable and I would say the better board out of the two, if you don’t mind the fact it’s definitely a bit slower off the line. I’m hoping to do a comparison between the original NLS Pro and the new NLS Pro soon.
is meepo NLS pro water proof??
No it isn’t mate. They hate water haha, even boards that say they’re splash proof like backfire aren’t waterproof, and should be kept well and truly away from water.
I would put a 42 inch fiberglass bamboo deck and put 100mm wheels on the front. I don't recommend putting 100mm sleeves on the back. You will lose torque.
The difference is negligible mate, my dad and I have raced loads of times and gone up hill and he always keeps up. And he has 100mm wheels and I have 90’s. He’s also a stone heavier. The pros outweigh the small cons in my opinion.
Waiting on my 100mm rear hub wheels and 97mm front
Nice bro, I didn’t realise you could get 97mm fronts. Sounds a good set up though mate, let me know what it is like.
Thanks mate, top job as ever 🤟
Thanks James, that means a lot mate 🙏🏼
I have two Meepo boards (V2 & V3) for over three years. When these boards work, they are great fun. However, This is my major issue with Meepo. After riding your new Meepo board, fully expect the ESC AND /OR BATTERIES TO FAIL! It has happened to me four times. If your board is problem free for more than a year, consider yourself lucky. The proof is in the warranty. 6 months & 3 months for spare parts. This shows that Meepo does not believe in their products.
I’d have to disagree with you there my friend. I have owned my meepo v3 for almost 2 years since it was released, my Dad has NLS pro for almost 2 years, my cousin has had mini 2 for a year and my uncle has a v3 for 6 months. We all ride in good conditions and have not had a single problem between us. If you treat the boards like crap they will break, running through puddles, riding in rain, jumping off curbs all will do the trick. I have absolutely no idea what you’re doing to go through 4 different ESCs and batteries though, and I can assure you it won’t be down to the board, as the ESCs, batteries and hub motors are all universally used in nearly any budget eboard company. it’s not that that they don’t believe in their parts, they just don’t want to lose a large amount of money replacing peoples spare parts who are careless, which is completely understandable. You’re paying £500 for something that performs nearly as well and in a lot of ways better than a £1500 market leading boosted board. They can’t be perfect, what you get for the money is a bargain.
@@ESKATEUK LIke I said, If your board is problem free for over a year, consider yourself lucky. I am the average rider. I my honest opinion, quaility & control are lacking.
👌
Cheers bro 🙏🏼
im looking forward to buying one of these
They’re a fantastic investment mate and worth every penny. Many hours of fun to be had with these boards if you look after them. I do recommend if you can stretch the cash a little further, investing in the ER battery, I don’t personally think the standard battery offers enough mileage for the board to get full enjoyment. All the best, stay safe
So glad to see you back Dylan, we missed you! 😜

@ACC Battles 😂😂 been a busy man, hope to get back on it some day soon
@@pambinobequeno5062 you sound intimidated
Waterproof??
Haha no definitely not. These boards and water do not go well together. I never take mine out when it has rained or is going to rain. Will destroy the ESC and motors.
@@ESKATEUK it’s not IP rated at all? It can’t touch water like a backfire board or a exway?
A backfire is rated to the very minimum, which is ip55. where if you get any water on it, you need to dry it off as quickly as possible to ensure it doesn’t damage the ESC and motors, so as soon as you go through any water on a backfire board it recommends you do a series of steps to make sure it doesn’t go wrong. And even then it may be too late. Meepo just don’t state that the board is resistant to such a small extent, however it’s about the same level, I know people who take their meepo through water and puddles, and after a while it will go wrong. That will happen with the backfire boards too. It’s just different marketing. But you definitely wouldn’t want to go through water with a backfire board either.
Nice 👍🏻

How long did the shipping take from China to Uk ?
Back when i ordered it took around 4 weeks to arrive :)
How much do you weigh?
Around 95kg currently mate
how do you wash the boards keep em clean ?
Hi mate, I use a damp sponge for most and for grip tape I use a tooth brush with some soapy water. Make sure you don’t get ESC wet or motors. Not sure if there is a better way to clean it but it does the job. I hear you can get a special rubber to use on the grip tape that takes out dirt.

Dilan, Hi from Russia. Thank you so much and good luck Bro!!!
Hello! It’s great to hear my video has got coverage all around the world! Have a good day, all the best! :)
@@ESKATEUK Dylan, can I please give you a tip, Backfire G3 vs Meepo NLS Pro, what to choose?)) Or maybe another option up to $ 700?
@@41mnv1 sadly I don’t have anybody to lend me a backfire to review, I’d love to be able to get my hands on all of these boards so I could review and compare them for people to see but none of the companies sponsor me and I don’t have the money to buy them myself :( but from what I could see when looking into the two companies, MEEPO seemed the safest option, However backfire are a decent company too that also do a good value board. But when it comes down to what you get for the money meepo seem to offer the most. The meepo NLS PRO feels incredibly premium, super smooth and the deck feels like it is made out of very premium materials. But I am hoping to do some more reviews and videos soon so stay tuned for that :)
@@ESKATEUK Dylan, you are the most responsive blogger, you are a great fellow, I respect you very much)) The final two questions, please tell me what to take in addition to the standard configuration of the NLS PRO? And is it comfortable to wear without a handle? Thank you very much in advance)))
That means the world to me thank you so much, it’s great how many people this video has helped out over the past year and a half. The board turns up pretty much good to go, however I would say it is worth trying out different bushing adjustments, people often put 1 hard bushing at the rear truck to keep the ride stable, with a softer bushing at the front to make it easier to turn. You can also invest in different branded bushings which change the ride completely. I have another video called “how to change your eskate experience.” It’s worth having a watch as I go into detail. And with regards to the board not having a handle, I’ve carried the NLS PRO around a fair bit and it isn’t too bad to carry, obviously it’s not as nice as the v3 handle to carry, however the handle on the v3 deck is a weak point so the NLS PRO deck is a bit more durable. So there are advantages and disadvantages to either. Hope that helps :)
Thanks for a video dude. I'll prob get V3 ER because it's the most popular model and they mastered it so good for years. Also the main reason why I don't want to buy NLS PRO because they don't have a handle...I had Ownboard before with that handle and after I used Boosted, it was so uncomfortable to carry the heavy board. Also you sold V3 when you said it rides more aggressively. Will make my purchase this week. Thanks again!
Hello man, It’s great to see my video is still helping many people world wide! You have made a great choice my friend and won’t regret your decision. It’s a fantastic board and it is still serving me well to this day with no faults at all. The v3 is definitely more aggressive, however they may have revised it a little bit as I know they have made some minor changes to the boards. Enjoy your new board, be patient for it’s delivery, it’s not very fast but it is worth the wait. All the best!
@@ESKATEUK thanks bro! I appreciate your content:) I hope they would deliver it within 7 days to New York :) Stay safe!
I hope they do too, enjoy it when it does turn up 😁 All the best, take care and stay safe!
Great video mate. I'm trying to decide whether to go with the lush legend or Landyachtz Stratus. This the Landyachtz is more likely. I'm from the UK too, not as many Longboarders here, I'm pretty much a beginner too. Absolutely love it though!
Either one you go for I think you’ll be a happy man! I haven’t personally ridden the Stratus but what a beautiful board! Find a nice smooth place to practice and feel the flow. You’ll love it man. I’m hoping to do some more content regarding longboarding soon, just not had enough time on my hands!
Which one should I go for you think?
I’d say you can’t really go wrong with either, if you can spend the little extra on the NLS PRO I’d say go for it. But if you go for the V3 I highly recommend the ER battery, which brings it up to almost NLS PRO price anyway. The only thing you’ll miss is a handle, but it’s still fairly easy to hold without one. Hope that helps :)
. I TRIED TO WATCH THE VIDEO 2X BUT I COULD NOT REALLY HEAR THE AUDIO GOOD ENOUGH WITH BACKGROUND NOISE... SO COULD YOU OR SOMEONE ANSWER: what is the pros of getting the nls pro over the v3 if you get the v3 with the ER BATTERY??? THEY BOTH GO THE SAME SPEED I BELIEVE AND BOTH GET THE SAME RANGE IF THE V3 HAS THE EXTENDED RANGE BATTERY... BUT THE V3 HAS A HANDLE AND WOULD BE $50 CHEAPER AS WELL CORRECT?
The only difference... Or main difference at least is just the deck flex between the two if the v3 has tbe ER BATTERY??
This is what I understand.. please correct me if I'm wrong. V3 Slightly quicker acceleration and braking Stiffer deck ( less smooth but more stable) Has a handle Nls pro Slightly slower acceleration /braking Smoother ride No handle What do these mean? Roll to start? Autostart? Does either one have Cruise control?
Hi there, firstly I’m sorry for the late reply.. and yes you got all them points right, however the NLS PRO now uses the V3 ESC, which in my opinion was a mistake and will change things up a bit. Making both boards too similar to each other. Push to Start means you can just roll the board forward and it turns it on. And there is a cruise control, on the v3, I’m not sure about the NLS pro, however I suggest you NEVER use it. It is incredibly dangerous, you want your hand controlling your speed at all times or you will cause serious injury and I know others who have from cruise control. Hope that helps, happy cruising :)
Very useful!
Dawson James Thankyou I’m glad it helped! However some of these facts now need a bit of an update mainly being the ESC, they both now use the V3 ESC just so you know 🙂
@@ESKATEUK ah cool thanks. Does that mean the NLS pro has more of a 'kick' to it now? Not smooth acceleration/breaking anymore?
Dawson James yes mate that is sadly right. I am not sure why they did this as to me they were aimed at different markets and after a while of owning these boards I came to prefer the hobbywing. I’ve fallen off the V3 a fair few times due to accidentally touching the accelerator while cruising because it is that touchy and responsive, however I’ve never done that on the NLS PRO. It was a mistake changing the ESC in my opinion but you still won’t be disappointed. It’s just the NLS PRO Hobbywing feels more relaxed, which makes it very enjoyable to ride. I think you can buy the hobbywing ESC separately which might be worth it so you can choose which one you like then. Hope that helps
@@ESKATEUK thanks for this. I've only ever ridden a V2, and am actually looking at off-road boards too. The V2 was pretty sore on the ankles when not on a perfectly pathed road. There's so much to choose from out there...
Dawson James yes I expect the v3 would be similar, the 100mm wheels make a big difference though, so I’ll be upgrading mine to 100’s soon. The NLS PRO really is super smooth I’d probably always recommend that one now, it’s deck is super absorbent and comfortable.
Where did you buy your board from?
Hey, I got my board from Vandem Longboard shop, highly recommend :)
@@ESKATEUK Thank you😊
Really appreciate this!!!
That’s great to hear I hope it helped! Take into account that the NLS PRO now ships with the same ESC as the V3 so that part of the video no longer applies :)

I look forward to it 😉
So where I live theres lots of like cracks and or pot holes. And I dont wanna ruin the board, I'm stuck between the v3 and the nls pro. Definitely will like suggestion.
Hello mate, well I can tell you that the NLS PRO will handle them cracks and bumps much better than the v3 does because of the bigger thicker wheels, bamboo deck and spongey grip tape, that overall make it a very smooth experience. The v3 is definitely firmer and the vibrations more pronounced. So the NLS PRO is definitely for you. However do be careful when using these boards not to hit big potholes with them. Hope that helps!
@@ESKATEUK definitely does!! I can avoid pot holes for sure.
Then you’ll be fine good sir, just avoid water like it’s lava, nothing kills more ESKATE boards than water! Enjoy dude
@@ESKATEUK definitely will just ordered a day or 2 ago! Now we wait!
Awesome stuff! Hopefully you get it In decent time! Will never be super quick obviously because of international shipping and preparing the board etc. But let me know how long it takes man!
how long for delivery to the UK mate looking to order one asap!
matt green hey man! I think times can vary a bit depending on the demand, and obviously because of this coronavirus I’m not sure if that will effect things either. But the wait for me was around 4 weeks after ordering. Definitely worth the wait and recommend you getting one!
@@ESKATEUK is that still with there express delivery? the boards look sweet! buzzing to get one for this isolation but i dont think it will be here in time :(
matt green I don’t think I had the choice of express delivery when I ordered to be fair mate?! Maybe it will come quicker then if you get express. And you never know, this is going to be going on for a fair bit of time I think so you might be lucky! I love them though they’re amazing boards and great fun.
@@ESKATEUK yeah thats true ! where abouts are you located ? im thinking of ordering the 100mm wheels with the v3 and just change from the start so hopefully will get the better ride comfort!
Are you planning on going with the ER battery? I recommend it hugely but it obviously is down to your budget. If you was going to go ER then I’d just go straight with the NLS PRO for sure because of the bamboo flex deck. Its beautiful to ride on, definitely going to upgrade my V3 deck at some point. But whatever you go for you will not be dissatisfied. :)
These look like good beginner boards to gradually upgrade if you tech minded
They definitely are mate. Plenty of potential in these boards.
Their for any level rider. That’s why theirs 4 speed modes.

Rhys Williams I was tempted 🤣🤣🤣
I dont know why but for me This is the best Video on the RUclipss
Lightfire LP that means a huge amount mate Thankyou so much. I’m hoping to make some more videos soon just the weather has been so bad I’ve only had the board out twice in the last 3/4 months. Glad the video helped and you enjoyed it :)
Do you have the ER battery?
rodogg34 yes I do mate, essential in my opinion fella
@@ESKATEUK ok cool bro..I been looking for reviews on it but no one seems to have any yet..thanks for the quick response
rodogg34 no problem bro, I’ve got a review and comparison of this board and the NLS pro that’s worth a watch if you haven’t, it covers everything about the two of them
@@ESKATEUK I haven't yet but I'm going to..
rodogg34 enjoy :)
Much bother with the fuzz riding in the Uk ?
Hi mate, it’s a bit of a grey area with the police currently, and so far I haven’t had any issues. But they aren’t legal as you probably know. Whenever I see the police I slow down and push with my foot to make it look like a manual board, however I have had police cars drive past me while I’m doing about 20mph+ and they haven’t said anything. So I suppose it depends on the officer and area mate.
My plan exactly, thanks for getting back to me dude , you’ve convinced me to order a v3 , can’t wait ✌🏻
Lewis Pratt no worries at all fella, I’m glad I helped out! You’ll enjoy that, they take a while to turn up but it’s worth the wait 😁
Which has a better range?
Ben Nemzek with the ER battery on the v3 which in my eyes is essential, they’re exactly the same range
Can you do the drag race?
Where I live has been really bad weather lately and rained almost every day and the boards can not run in the rain as you risk damage to the motors and ESC. So we are just waiting for a day both me and my dad are free where the weather is good enough to do it.
