@@Stevo_Drums You do realise this comment is 7 years old right? This is when he was quite new to the scene, and damn well doing a great job at the start.
Richie is not underrated guitarist, in fact he is very much appreciated guitarist. He enjoys his time with Judas priest and shouldn't be compared to K K Downing as he is unique and one of his kind. His skills are incredible and he learned that through his own hard work. Richie you are awesome, very talented musician
I saw Priest a couple months ago and I remember thinking it's to bad KK isn't with them. I couldn't keep my eyes of this Faulkner kid. So energetic and appreciative to be part of Priest. It was cool watching Glen sit back and give the kid the spotlight. I came away really impressed.
I don't care of which is better between KK and Faulkner, they are both amazing, just different. KK was a killing machine, but Ritchie gots his own style, and he's really an incredible guitarist.
He is s great player. Articulate and understands that he does not need to over saturate his tone. Really nice licks in there. A great fit for this great band. How anyone can think otherwise is beyond me.
According to an interview Priest did fairly recently, one of Richie/Rob/Glenn, actually said that this exact solo in the video we're watching inspired the main riff for "Spectre" off Firepower, and I imagine that this portion of the solo is where they took the individual notes and reworked it for Spectre
Ah yes, this was the very first I had ever seen of Richie. I was sour grapes at first. Aint nobody going to take KK's place!! (I'm an old dude, The Priest was the band that got me into music back in the very early 80's. Okay, I guess I'll see about this Richie kid, I thought. After watching this solo of his, I was SOLD. So much style, but humble at the same time. He keeps that Priest history sacred, but also brings his own flair to the band. Safe to say I'm a huge Faulkner (or Falconer, as Rob calls him) fan.
Ozzy should definitely make his next album with Richie on guitar. Now that would be awesome. Someone please introduce Richie and Ozzy. Watt can stay as a sound engineer. He did his shot.
loll haters gonna hate is playing is really smooth and clean everybody talk shit about is a copy of rhoads or wylde but no one can even dream about getting a gig like this so keep calm and shred your pathetic life :) and ohhh remember zakk and rhoads have influences like hendrix and other and no one talk shit about it !!!
No robot shit in here... Not only a virtuosic presentstion with a classic style and influences but raw energy and heart as true rock and metal should be.
1:01 i swear to god i thought that was kk it made me cry as a huge kk fan it gave me chills richie has surpassed him but he will always be missed in priest
I just caught this concert on Palladia last night and holy crap, does this guy rule or what? I had to come to YT and see if I could find this solo again. Wow.
"Ladies & Gentleman, on the Heavy Metal guitar..."
That's how you introduce your new guitarist! Rob showing some love and respect for Ritchie. Class act.
So coooool
Mr. Richie…Faulkner!!
True hero
F*ck Richie is the Heavy Metal Guitar
Extremely underrated guitarist. He's what new metal guitarists need to be like! So much energy soul with that straight up rock and roll vibe.
That's true. Check out Joel Hoekstra from Whitesnake :) He's replacing Doug Aldrich.
Word
I liked him instantly. 100% Agree with u.
How is he underrated?
He’s in Judas Priest
@@Stevo_Drums You do realise this comment is 7 years old right? This is when he was quite new to the scene, and damn well doing a great job at the start.
This guy is a combo of Randy Rhoads, Dave Murray and Michael Schenker.
You can literally hear his influences.
And Zakk Wylde.
And I can hear some fast picking Paul Gilbert in it too! Incredible guy.
And Doug Aldrich
And,zakk wylde.
Nate Gold Yep, and he makes no secret about it

mrhyde2484 Kid? He's almost 40 lol
Mummyxmas
change was inevitable....things change and people come and go....you cant stop it....but no way KK could play like this
I don't care of which is better between KK and Faulkner, they are both amazing, just different. KK was a killing machine, but Ritchie gots his own style, and he's really an incredible guitarist.
Richie's one of the few guys who can play a solo that's intelligent, not just a bunch of notes or sounds.
I'm 55 years old, and I feel I was born just at the right time to experience some fantastic music... Rock being the best!
I envy you!
Closest I´ve heard to Randy Rhoads since he died.
Check out alexi lahi solos he also passed away sadly.
Huh? not even close
A lot of people's new favorite guitarist
Jesus-somebody better pour some water on that guitar,I think the fretboar
d is on fire
There are an overwhelming number of people referring to Richie as a "Kid". People he is 36 and long past puberty.
tho he is younger than the rest of them so yeah :/
I’m 38, I’m still a Virgin, live with mom and play with LEGOs. So fuck you. I’m still a kid. Call Children & Family. I don’t care.
He reminds me so much of Randy Rhoads.
that's for damn sure. i love how robs says after the solo "lady's and gentlemen, on the HEAVY METAL GUITARRRR, RICHIE FAULKNER!
I hear some Zakk Wylde/randy rhoads influence in here.
He's a devoted fan and student of both their styles :)
He is s great player. Articulate and understands that he does not need to over saturate his tone. Really nice licks in there.
A great fit for this great band. How anyone can think otherwise is beyond me.
People forger that K.K? Left Judas Priest.
I love what he plays from 1:00 onwards, sounds like it could be an amazing riff aswell. I must learn it
I think it's something similar to irish scale. Did you learn it? :)
I heard this solo now...Gotta learn lick at 1:00
Check my other post. Simple tab is now online again ;)
lajjvo where did you post it?

You can see how he's been influenced by Zakk Wylde. The stance, the head positioning. Such an amazing guitarist, drawing from an amazing source.
When i close my eyes all i hear is randy rhoads.
He's better than Wylde because he actually plays the notes and not pinch harmonics every 5 seconds
The guy is a total beast of a player. Melodic, fast, great tone... the total package.
We need a band with Richie and Marty Friedman as lead guitarists, Richie is unbelievably good!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VIDEO.. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MR.RICHIE FAULKER..
HE IS SO,SO INCREDIBLY UNDERRATED.. I LOVE HIS GIBSON LES PAUL CUSTOM...
Ah yes, this was the very first I had ever seen of Richie. I was sour grapes at first. Aint nobody going to take KK's place!! Those licks from 01:00 onwards are just pure perfection
Man, this guy is outstanding!
that was so 80's I love it
yes i totally agree, came to the comments section to see if someone else appreciated it as well
Pure heavy metal!
I thought i was watching a Doug Aldrich solo. Dude definitely expresses his influences all in a tasteful barrage of chops and licks.
That's true.
Mix Aldrich, Wylde, Rhoads, Murray and Smith, and you got Richie
B.A.M.F
Spot on.
Richie rocks!!!!
What a beast what a "FAULKING" BEAST Love your playing man
so badass
So articulate! Wish Richie would get more recognition.
Ozzy should definitely make his next album with Richie on guitar. Now that would be awesome. Someone please introduce Richie and Ozzy. Watt can stay as a sound engineer. He did his shot.
Best live solo I`ve seen
Richie is the absolute bomb!!!!!
sick! i love k.k. but there's no denying that this guy is a beast.
About time we get someone with some real energy. Playing his own stuff no copycat guitar. Fucking ROCK N ROLL LIVES
New guitar genius
2:33 Glenn: I feel confident passing the baton to this bloke. Carry on, my son!
That guitar tone is just perfection.

Well said dude
What a player.
Awesome. That was just awesome.
Ladies and gentlemen , on the heavy metal guitar Mr Richie Faulkner!!
INCREDIBLE !!!!
Fun fact. 1:02 is now the intro riff of the new song “Gates of Hell”.
Richie put that riff into good use
Yeah, I reacted to that the first time I heard it. Same with one of his solos for EMG TV from 2012 being alot like the solo in that song
An absolute beast
Priest is lucky to have him
Super!!
Who ever tabs this solo will keep me going for the rest of my life.
Get well soon Falcon 🙏🙏
I admire kk but richie is something else.... Bringing judas priest a new soul...... And i like it.....
Zakk and Randy's influence is truly evident.
Richie IS the best! No doubt about that.
wild stringdom performed by richie faulkner.
Amazing talent.
Great player...sort of reminds me of Doug Aldrich!
It's always good to watch Randy Rhoads playing live
Amazing.
This guy is amazing, I really enjoyed this solo. :)
Dude is so damn good
No robot shit in here... Not only a virtuosic presentstion with a classic style and influences but raw energy and heart as true rock and metal should be.
Love this!!!!
Wowzer Richie is the biz just stunning solo so much tone and feel there so impressed !!
He is so cool.

That was phenomenal!!!! 💗💗💗
I think he is the best of now.
looks exactly like randy rhoads, his stance, guitar positioning, hair. plays good too
Very impressive awesome playing!

F**k he is really good.
tasty playing and tone
몇번을 봤지만 오늘도 지리고 갑니다ㄷㄷㄷ
하아 1분2초 부터는 귀르가즘 그자체ㅠ
eargasm ....waaauuuw !!
Hes impeccable check his emg solos omg he's a beast go watch them they blow this solo away
he is a fucking beast!
Brutal!!!!! 🤘
Way to keep in time with the drummer...
Right? I always prefer the Guitarist playing by himself in these solos because he'll be going up and down the tempo and wont keep up with the band
The bass drum sounds like someone being slapped on the arse with a wet towel.
크으...오늘도 또 지리고 갑니다 후달달달
1분2초 부터 시작 되는 그 특유의 감성 솔로는 너무 멋있는 듯 ㅠㅠ
Sawyer from "Lost" on the guitar. :p
I just caught this concert on Palladia last night and holy crap, does this guy rule or what? I had to come to YT and see if I could find this solo again. Wow.
