Written by Scott Hoying and his partner last year during the height of the pandemic, it was released around Thanksgiving 2020. I would love for this beautiful tribute to become a new holiday classic for the masses, it has for me anyway. Beautiful song, beautiful message.
At the concert, Scott said he hoped that after listening to him play, no one said “Oh, now I know he sings acappella.” Scott and his partner wrote this last year during the pandemic as a way to look for good things during the depression of the isolation. It seemed to really hurt them all not to be able to get together to sing and tour. On the brighter side, their tour this season was awesome, Kevin has a 7-month old little girl and Matt is getting married. Families were at the final concert in Dallas and Scott’s dad played guitar with them for Evergreen. A great way to end the tour and sing that song directly to their moms.
From the moment I first heard this song, I felt so strongly about it that I hope it becomes one of the many Christmas classics that gets played year after year. Everything about this performance is just right, from the beautiful words and tender feel to the vignettes to the wonderful addition of Kevin's superb cello, I can't help but have my heartstrings pulled every time.
I get teary almost every time I hear this beautiful, ethereal piece of music magic. Thank you for your gentle, perceptive comments. My condolences on the loss of your dog. I think dogs are sent to us by God to illustrate unconditional love. When they leave us we feel the loss so deeply.
Thank you for sharing your reaction to this beautiful song. I appreciate your comments concerning Scott's voice and the cello. Couldn't agree more. My heart goes out to you and your wife on the loss of your furbaby. It's never easy.
This song is a direct reaction to last year's pandemic lockdown, and so I think it speaks to most of us. Kevin plays his cello in a number of PTX songs, and yes, he plays it as another voice in the group. The most touching song using this effect, for me, is Dancing on My Own, which they made right after Avi left and before Matt joined the group. The cello seems to take Avi's part, and yet we are still so aware that the bass everyone knew and loved is gone.
The second perfect song that they released in the pandemic year of 2020. This song was on their Christmas album that year. The other perfect pandemic song was the remake of Mad World. Just cried the first time I saw the video. I still to this day can't hear it without tearing up. Really just brings all the emotions when you realize when it was released and how hard that year was for many people. A fan made a video of Pentaholics (some of them reactors) holding signs thanking Pentatonix for making music that got them through tough times while Thank You played in the background. It is a good watch if you need an ugly cry.
Not only are the dogs with their owners, but the videos seen on the tv include Kevin with his wife and I believe the rest are other members’ family and friends.
Thank you for bringing us these wonderful reactions. I really enjoy your heartfelt comments and for your encouragement. Yes, it has been a rough almost 2 years and we will get through this with our faith and determination. Merry Christmas 🎄
I like your observation about Scott’s voice coordinating with the cello and one thing I know for sure is that with PTX nothing is a mistake or coincidence. They plan every move they make. Thanks for the reaction and Happy Holidays!
Kevin can make his cello sound like any of them. After Avi left and before Matt came Kevin tuned his cello to play Avi’s he part in “dancing on my own” Merry Christmas. 🎁🎄
Wow! Went down the PTX rabbit hole, as so often happens, and found this delicious gem - ‘Say Something’. Kristin takes the lead, but the others are showcases so beautifully. Merry Christmas.
Pentonix had momentous year. They celebrated their tenth anniversary as a group, they returned to touring (with 11,000+ at their recent Minnesota show), Zoe in became a dad to Kaia, born in April-and Matt’s wedding is January 2, 2022!
I'm so happy that you reacted to this beautiful song that Scott and his partner Mark wrote last year. And the dogs were a nice touch. The first dog is Bubba,Scotts dog and the others are owned by Kirsten. We do have a lot to look forward to in the new year. It has to keep getting better and better. Which is why I love music. Especially Pentatonix. Thank you.
Pentatonix and Kelly Clarkson duet called “Grown- Up Christmas List it beautiful as well as “Santa, Can’t You Hear Me with Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande. Very talented singers all around
We lost our daughter-in-law to a brain tumor, and our son-in-law to covid, so I understand. It's been a hard year for most, a hard two years to be honest. Have a Merry Christmas and my blessings follow you throughout the year.
I am so sorry for your losses, Nana. I lost my father a few years back around Christmas. I know he would want me to carry on and have a wonderful Christmas. I'm betting your daughter-in-law and son-in-law would wish you the very best as well. You're not alone my friend. Blessings.
Really appreciate your reaction content and style. PTX is obviously the top a Capela group based on subscibers and popularity and I would consider myself a Pentaholic. Their talent is exceptional. I also appreciate Scott's presentation of this song. His range and passion..... wow. All the members of PTX are incredibly gifted and provide so much to a capella music lovers. a capella has caputured my attention over the past year. The talent of the premier groups ( PTX, HF, VP and Voctave) is hard to ignore. I am a Home Fry primarily just based on my preference for their unique type of genre, humility and talent at this particular point in my life. Thanks again for your reactions which help us enjoy and better apreciate the details of this incredible a capella world.
Thank you, Chris. I think this song is such a great thank you from Scott and Mark to each other, from them to Pentatonix, and from Pentatonix to all the Pentaholics. At least this year I can listen to it without crying my eyes out every time it starts. I really love how they included their pets-Scott and Mark's dog, Bubba. Kirsten's Pomski Floof, huskies Olaf and Pascal. They are our family and help us to get through the pandemic and hard times, too. I had to put my old friend down last year in January. That cat and I went through a lot of things together, I had him for a long long time, he was my bud. I'm so sorry to hear about your dog, my heart goes out to you. 💚💚 I appreciate all your kind words at the end of the video.
Thank you Lisa. I think it's wonderful on how close we get to our pets, but such an incredible bummer when we have to put them down. I put our dog, Patches, down about 10 months ago and I still look for him from time to time when I get home. He used to be right at the door when I got home and I still have that habit from time to time to be looking for him. We will need to get another dog someday soon. It's been nice to not have the responsibility, but we dearly miss him. Thank you so much for your kindness! Blessings, my friend!
This is one of my favorite songs of PTX! I love that Scott wrote the song with his partner during the 1st Christmas season of the pandemic. And they perform it beautifully!! They even performed this one in their Christmas concert tour this year. Love your reactions!! Merry Christmas! 🎄♥️
Another great song from Pentatonix and another great reaction from you. Thank you, Chris, for what you’re doing here. You are very much appreciated. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
That four minute intro was absolutely wonderful, Chris. Well done. Having said that, I trust that you'll continue to explore Pentatonix! At the end of your reaction to "The Prayer", you said "Here's the best part...the BEST part about Pentatonix to me, is that I have waaaay more music I get to listen to that I'd never heard yet before from this group!" You then correctly postulated that it's fun for us to watch someone react to PTX for the first time, which is part of the reason why your channel grew so quickly. Another reason is that your analyses are quite good. Finally, we're enjoying watching you learn how to become a RUclipsr. It has become a rewarding a hobby for you. In any case, we are all gonna be here to watch you react to "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Daft Punk", "Sing", "Imagine", "Come Along", "Havana", "90's Dance Medley", "Love Again" and anything else you haven't seen yet. Once again, when you do this, please please please call out Scott, Mitch, Kirstin, Kevin, Avi and Matt when making an analysis. Not only is it less confusing than using pronouns left and right, but it will really make a positive impact on your videos. And if you get one wrong and someone gives you a hard time, I'll break their kneecaps. Maybe you'll want to dive into the Sing Off shows where PTX got its start, maybe not. Maybe some of us will eventually attend a PTX concert with you. The camaraderie of PTX fans is palpable.
Thanks Eric for your fantastic comments! I really appreciate your input, bud! I'm horrible at names... When I see myself in the mirror, it takes me a minute to remember that guy's name lol. Good tips, bud!
Well Merry Christmas to you too!☺️ 🌞🌡🔥🥵 Yes I'm one of those people who have a mega hard time and just ignore it all. So it's very odd that I love all the PTX but that is their power over us 😊👍🏻👍🏻💖
Beautiful song, and a beautiful reaction. Thank you for being you and cheering us up with your enthusiasm and knowledge and love for music. Music is such a help, always. I am just crashing with a glass of something after a very long day with some of my children and grandchildren; my husband has toddled of to bed after tidying up the kitchen (bless him!), and I thought I might find you here. Hope your day was lovely, Chris. In this house we always give a toast to family and friends (dogs included) no longer with us, and it gives some peace. Thank you for mentioning Angelina, I’ll go hunting for your reaction now! I’ll be “horizontal” on the couch till my glass is empty! ❤👣🎶🎄
I'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet puppy.🙏 I grew up with Cockers and adored them. I've had Poms as an adult and have lost not only my favorite uncle and my last grandparent, but also my two 15 year old Poms since October 2021. Sending you and your family many hugs.
God is good and is 'the reason for the season' so thank you for bringing him into your reaction. Love your humility (and your reactions) This is the first Christmas without our 18 year old niece who we lost to covid so it was a tough one.
I'm SO very sorry to hear about your niece. You are not alone, as I trust you already know based on your first comment that I hold near and dear myself. We have the hope in Christ in that we will see our loved ones again so very soon. My father passed on December a few years ago and I know that he would be wanting me to have a good Christmas and I'm betting your niece would want the same for you and your family. This is for you - "“The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance (meaning His smile 🙂) upon you, And give you peace.". Blessings to you. I will be thinking of you and keeping you in prayer.
Thank you for your reactions - I have enjoyed joining you as you discovered Pentatonix over the last few months. Thank you also for the sign-language "thank you". This is a beautiful song and beautifully performed by Pentatonix. Merry Christmas to you.
Thank you Patricia! Here's my Christmas wish for you today: "The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance (smile) upon you, And give you peace."
Dear Larry, we don't know each other but you have such a warm and genuine soul and it's a pleasure to discover you to end this hard year. I am so sorry for your loss and I'm sure your dog had a wonderful run with you in his life. I'm sure he thanked you in his own way. This song is so well put. I hope you have a nice Christmas time. God blesses you. This song was the first one I heard from this album. A really touching one. Thank you for being such a nice reactor and a good human being.
Actually, his name is Chris. There's a video _somewhere_ in his archive that explains why the channel is named "larryshair" but I haven't gotten around to discovering it yet. He's new at this, and I hope that some day he'll make it easier for us newbies to accurately call him by his first name, but I think a lot of the attention he's paid to his channel lately has been about dealing with the blocks. Couple that with his mind being blown by the discovery of Pentatonix, I'll be quite patient. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I love your comment and totally agree with everything you wrote, Kay!
That was so beautiful. Thanks Chris and thank you Pentatonix and Scott for such a wonderful song. In my top 2 musical artists now with Angelina. Love music.
This song makes this old man cry every single time, so beautiful! Thank you so much for reacting to this Larry, I really, really enjoy your reactions. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
My dad passed 3 years ago from the flu. This year 5 days before Christmas I contracted covid. Couldn’t even see my kids. These reactions help me. Merry Christmas to you and your family. 🎄
One of the hardest decisions is to put a pet down. They are a part of the family. Sorry for your loss.💜 Thank you for your reactions. You are my favorite reactor😊 MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY🎄☃️❄
Thanks so much, Karen. Yes, it is always a hard choice of when to finally put your pet down. We knew it was time as he developed a pretty aggressive tumor in his "rump" that started to obstruct his movements. It was about 10 months ago. Thank you for your kind words! I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas!
Thanks for being genuine and kind and for sharing this wonderful reaction. I would like to ask that you consider reacting to Avi Kaplan's solo work. It's not too off the path. He leans folk genre and does a few covers but most of his work are originals. Change on the Rise is amazing and insightful and has been played on a couple television shows. Quarter past four, Adeline (fun and upbeat) and his latest song First place I go are also great songs to react to. He's a super storyteller and his voice has a warm and emotional quality. Happy Holidays!
So sorry to hear about your dog. I jumped on your channel recently to see your review of Hallelujah PTX and i've really enjoyed your style and your delivery of the content. I'm happy to see that the channel is growing and hope it continues. Thank you for what you do and I hope you have a happy holiday.
You should definitely check out their cover of Say Anything. It's an older video, but the way that Scot and Mitches voices blend with the cello is stunning@
This is the first time of hearing this and WOW isnt it just beautiful?! There is a tinge of sadness in it which is accentuated by the chello, but it is also full of hope which is perfect for this time of year but especially the last two years because of the pandemic. So many people around the world will have an empty chair at the Christmas table whether because of COVID19 or some other reason but in that sadness is hope that whatever comes our way next, we have so many around us that will be there for good and bad. That is what I took from the song, this is obviously just my interpretation and probably sounds absolute rubbish and gibberish to others but that is the point of a song, like a painting, everyone reads something different into it and what it means to them!(I don't need to talk about how amazing PENTATONIX is as that goes without saying and they did this song to perfection as usual!) I hope everyone had a great day today and for those who struggled today and will continue to, remember that you are definitely not alone even though it may seem like that at times you are truly not and you are loved. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR A GREAT VIDEO, THIS WAS A PERFECT SONG AS THE LAST TREAT IN THE ADVENT CALENDAR. Thank you also for your lovely kind words in reply to my comment on a previous video they did make me tear up a bit (in a positive way!) I love being part of your channels community and even though I live across the pond, it honestly feels like I live just down the road! I hope that you also had a great Xmas day with family and friends and I am really looking forward to what you have in store for us next. (Oh, by the way, the video you took of your dog, was it the one where she wouldn't chase and fetch the ball until you said aND? I loved that clip but didn't realise that it was you!!!) Take care, thank you once again and I cannot wait for your next video 💖💖💖
Thank you, Beth for your kind words. I really appreciate all of your comments! yes, the dog was Patches and we had to put him down about 10 months ago or so. Thanks so much for asking!
@@larryshair I am so sorry to hear that. My Dad has 2 Cocker spaniels and I noticed that Cocker's have 2 types of personality 1 is complete lunatic or 2 plods along in life and my Dad has one of each! The lunatic loves going out into the back garden running and down barking for no reason but then the plodder comes rushing out barking even though he has no clue as to why and the lunatic stops and just watches in glee because she deliberately did it to wind him up!!!😂 I have a Shih Tzu who is my world and although he was never trained to do this, if I have an epileptic seizure, he will call or get help but if he can't he stays by me until I come round and then proceeds to lick me to death so I cannot breathe! They are an amazing source of unconditional love and when they leave us the grief is the same as losing family so my heart goes out to you and let's hope that 2022 only brings love and laughter (fanciful, I know, but I can dream!😜)
@@bethburness8323 That is so very sweet and you hit the nail on the head. We have had 2 cockers and they were both kind of loony, but this last one I had was incredibly smart and truly insightful. Sounds like your dog that senses when you have your seizures. That is so incredible and must be so comforting! So sorry to hear about your seizures. I hope they don't trigger too often.
@@larryshair unfortunately at the moment 3-4 a day but I have got used to it and although it used to stop me doing anything, I refuse to let it rule my life and when I am with my dog I no longer worry about them happening because the more I worried, the more likely I was going to have one! They aren't fun but there are so many people in the world who have to deal with far worse and so I have no right to complain! Do you think that you will get another dog? Not to replace Patches because that would be impossible but maybe fill the hole that Patches left behind (by the way tell me to mind my own business if I am saying too much! I don't mean to be nosy, I just am always interested in people and how it is always the focus on how different people are when I notice actually how we have so much more similarities)
@@bethburness8323 We’re definitely gonna be getting another cocker spaniel. I can’t imagine living life without a dog. We have been kind of enjoying not having the responsibility at the moment, but I don’t think a home is truly a home without a puppy! Once we do get one, I’ll be sure to show him off 😉
What a beautiful song,I think it speaks well of how we feel about our friends and loved ones.Nice to see Kevin on the cello and Scott on piano,as well.Thank you for your lovely positive gentle reactions, too, Chris.Merry Christmas!
Love your analysis and your perceptions. And you're not old, I'm old enough to be your mother. My family think it's awesome that I enjoy PTX so much. Isn't this just the most warming, sweet and heartfelt video. The people in the cameos are known to them, and their love of dogs makes them even more wholesome. Christmas was yesterday here in NZ, but I needed to keep hold of the magic a little longer. Thank you!
I heard that Scott wrote this song by himself and all the dogs in the video are Pentatonix own dogs. I loves your sweet smile in this reaction. You looked happy and thankful. You called yourself old 2 times. How old are you? I wanna thank you Chris. You and your reactions helped me thru alot of tuff days. Its kind of amazing how your smile can travel all over the world and touch people. Here I am. In Sweden. With the biggest fancrush on you. I love hiw music brings people together. Thank you Chris. Thank you 💛 And Merry Christmas 🎅
Louise, you bring a smile to my face each time I see you in the comments! I'm very happy to know that I can put a smile on your face as well, especially with what you're going through. Just turned 56 a few weeks back. It's also kinda funny in a way to hear people call themselves a fan of mine. I'm just a regular guy that's really more of a fan of all of you (especially a fan of yours! 😉) Wishing you blessings this Christmas!
@@larryshair Thank you Chris. 56 isnt old. If we lived in the same country and you where singel I would totaly ask you out on a date 😍 This was the first christmas after the divorce and the kids where with their father. So I missed the kids and was in hrll of a pain. So probebly my worst christmas ever. Bit Im a fighter and I will never give up. I dont believe in God but I believe in Good. The good people can do. And you are a good person Chris. That shows in your eyes. We can start a club. A club for people that like eachother. Maximum of people in the club:2 😁😁 💛
@@louisebacka ***blushing***. You’re too kind! And funny! Sorry to hear about the kids being out and what you’ve been through. Gotta give God a second chance 😉. Love your comments 🙂. Keep me posted on how things are going.
The woolly mini golden-doodle is Scott's and partner Mark's dog Bubba. The two big huskies, Pascal and Olaf, and the little pomeranian mix, Floof, are Kirstin's. Floof appears on lots of the tour videos - he is small enough to go with her on travel within the U.S.
A very beautiful song there. "Let's see how far we can take this" ?? You know, Chris, the way you're going there is no limit other than yourself. As long as YOU are in, I am in. And I believe I speak for all of your subscribers as well. You're a breath of fresh air in the reaction biz, and your genuinity and calm manner won't push anyone away tbh. If you keep going for another year, I wouldn't be surprised at all if you've hit 50k and beyond. If nothing else, it should tell you that there are alot of people who love you for being you, and that surely must feel great. But do it at your own pace. To me it seems like a lot of reactors feel the need to excuse themselves if they're prevented from reacting for a few days. Don't fall into that trap, and I believe you'll be in for the long haul. At least, that is my hope. Merry Christmas to you and your family ! Norwegian hugs going out to all of you :-)
Pool, I'm glad to have had you along or the entire ride! It's been a ton of fun chatting with you along the way and I look forward to another year with ya as we unpack more and more! Blessings, my friend, on this wonderful Christmas!

@@larryshair blocking TV content is the easiest way to bypass, but Diana, in addition to clips from TV shows, has many other videos, I gave two links, with Autoradio performances are not blocked
Thank you Larry, Merry X-mas to you and yours! Thank you for creating an individual 'playlist', it makes it so much easier to see what you've already covered and easier to make suggestions. And TY for adding Voice Play to the a cappella party. You may want to do Voice Plays cover of 'Carry On Wayward Son'? Keep up the great reactions!
These five uber-talented musicians have more talent than we see in Pentatonix (usually). Check out Kevin’s beautiful cello on ‘Perfect’ and ‘Shallow’. He also has his own RUclips channel, KO (Kevin Olusola). You can see Scott & Mitch on their Superfruit channel. So much talent. Enjoy your Christmas. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the music share.
So sorry for your loss of your dog. 💔 Here’s a story (I believe) from Readers Digest: “Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog’s owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle. I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn’t do anything for Belker and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.” As they made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told the vet that they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience. The next day, the vet felt the familiar catch in his throat as Belker‘s family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that the vet wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little boy seemed to accept Belker’s transition without any difficulty or confusion. They all sat together for a while after Belker’s Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that dogs’ lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, “I know why.” Startled, they all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned the vet. He had never heard a more comforting explanation. He says that it changed the way he will try and live. “People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life - like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right? Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay for as long as we do.” 🐾♥️🐾
I'm so happy to see your channel taking off like it is! After watching some of your first ones a while back I knew you'd have success here. Thank you for being a positive force here on RUclips. Merry Christmas!
Thanks Lisa! I'm really kind of surprised that this many people have subbed and have been so very kind (including yourself!). I've been very blessed! This whole thing really kind of caught me off guard on this growth. Again, I'm very humbled by it all. Thanks for your comments!
Merry christmas to all of you! Pentatonix is soooo amazing. And so is Home Free. And pretty much every band/group I have seen you react to since I found your channel ;-) If you are looking for new stuff, I got a suggestion for you: Marcelito Pomoy - The Prayer (the live version from Wish Bus 107). Don't want to spoil it, but I'm pretty sure it will make your jaw drop right on the table :D
Yes, it’s jiggle bells but that last chord is a bitt “off” which I’m sure is on purpose to capture the crazy pandemic times as this was released fall 2020 ❤️
Nice reaction, lovely song. Also good to hear you comment on musical instruments. Are you normally interested in the musical instruments and what they do or do you mainly analyze just voices? It was refreshing to have you comment on the desire for intellectual exchange and enjoyment, and not trying to run up subscriber numbers and Patreon support. A real nice change! A very Merry Christmas to you and yours, and thanks for the pleasure you have given to your followers with your reactions, I really enjoy them. I also appreciate the kindness you show in reference to the Holidays. I am always alone on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but I have my dog to spend it with, FB friends, and RUclips reactions. Bless you.
Hi Sheryl! I'm so humbled by your comments. I am so glad you enjoy this content with me. I want you to know that you are not alone. There is a God in heaven that we celebrate his birth today, and if you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you. You are not alone today. I'm sorry to hear about your dog. We love them and miss them like family. You need to listen to Home Free singing "Christmas Ain't for the Lonely". Watch the video until the end. You'll see why I'm recommending it for you.
Merry Christmas. Looking forward to more musical discovery in 2022 which will no doubt lead you to Lara Fabian, Marc Martel, Morissette Amon 😬 and many others. Be well!!
"we had to put our dog down"...Yes, ditto..and then 3 months later, we had to put our 18.5 year old PERFECT SWEET CAT down. It was horrible, traumatic, sad in both cases. It SUCKS. Giving your heart to a pet is so joyful, and when it ends, it usually ends ugly. I don't know if I'm ever going to be ready to give my heart to another dog or cat. I sympathize with you...
I'm so sorry, Lisa. My dad passed away 2 years ago on the 14th of December, so it feels lonely without him, but I know he would want me to smile this day. It sounds like you had a wonderful mother. I bet she would want the same for you. On this day, I pray you feel the warmth of her presence. Here is a little verse that I'd like to give you: "The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance (meaning His smile 🙂) upon you, And give you peace.". Blessings, my friend. Keeping you on my mind today.
💚❤beautiful...Merry Christmas to you and yours, looking forward to the next phase of your journey ❤🎼💚 ... if you love the combo of piano and cello I have a good one for you... it's a cover of Metallica's 'nothing else matters' Miley Cyrus does the vocals, WATT, Chad Smith, Robert Trujillo, Yo-Yo MA and Elton John do the amazingly beautiful music 💙🤘❄🎼💙
Merry Christmas to you too! (I am a little confused...do you go by Chris or Larry)? I have watched many of your reaction videos and I have to say your analysis is pretty much always on point. "Thank You" by PTX is, for me, one of their very best performances. Yes, they have added a piano and a cello when they are known as an acapella group, but, most of the time, it is just their voices. They have nothing to prove or be sorry for. The addition of these instruments just enhances their already stunning vocals and showcases their other musical talents. I am so sorry for the loss of your dad and your dog. It's been a tough two years for so many people and I pray the New Year rings in healing, health and happiness for all!! Christmas Blessings to you and your family!!
Thanks Wendy! Yes, you can call me Chris. The story behind "larryshair" is from my friend's dad. His name is Larry and each time we see each other, we mess each other's hair up. So just to one-up him, everyone that wants to write me needs to "run their fingers through his virtual hair" to get in touch with me ; ). I'm on gmail, so you can figure out the rest lol.
Hi, I am a new subscriber and love all your reactions. Merry Christmas to you! If you are looking for something a little different in Christmas music, check out Riu Chiu by the Monkees. It is the only acapella song they did.
Lovely share for the Yuletide, Larry. Thanks, as always! Here's a Christmas time treat for you that you may not have seen yet by one of our favourite artists: ruclips.net/video/YNjl43wCUeI/видео.html
Whoa! unexpected! I had to pause before I watched it not knowing it was Aurora on a song I haven't seen yet! I will DEFINITLY add this to the list! Thanks Mark!
That's such a sweet back story. Wishing you blessings this Christmas day! Thanks :)
I was at that concert. Phenomenal!!
“Say Something” …. One of their earlier songs. Stunning. Has the cello…. You should…..
To keep it simple, beautiful song, beautiful reaction.
Thanks Cheryl!
The dogs are their fur-babies. The first dog is Scott's , then the Pom, Huskie and Shephard are all Kirstie's . Such a nice touch
This was so needed when it came out during the pandemic..so to all out there..Thank You.
Blessings, David!
That one makes me so dang sad to watch!
He doesn't give us more than we can handle...
Totally agree!
Tears - everytime I listen to this most beautiful song.
So glad you enjoyed, Laura!
I just saw Scott and the rest perform this live last week and it was breathtaking and very emotional! I love this song so thank you for your reaction!
Thank you for your comments! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas! (BTW, so jealous that you got to see them live!!!) 😉
Not only are the dogs with their owners, but the videos seen on the tv include Kevin with his wife and I believe the rest are other members’ family and friends.
This one has a Pavlovian effect on me, I start blubbing at the first line no matter how many times I listen, my all time favourite PTX Christmas song.
As always, a beautiful and thoughtful reaction.
From one old guy to another; great reaction. Recommend their Rather Be, Come Along, and Amazing Grace.
Thanks DF! Us old guys need to stick together! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Congrats larry...we all love your videos and reactions....let's get you to 100,000..or more...
Thank you for bringing us these wonderful reactions. I really enjoy your heartfelt comments and for your encouragement. Yes, it has been a rough almost 2 years and we will get through this with our faith and determination. Merry Christmas 🎄
Thanks Jean : )
I love your reactions with Pentatonix! This original is really beautiful.
I like your observation about Scott’s voice coordinating with the cello and one thing I know for sure is that with PTX nothing is a mistake or coincidence. They plan every move they make. Thanks for the reaction and Happy Holidays!
You as well, Jamie!
Kevin can make his cello sound like any of them. After Avi left and before Matt came Kevin tuned his cello to play Avi’s he part in “dancing on my own”
Merry Christmas. 🎁🎄
Thanks Bonnie! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!!
Please react to Pentatonix “Say Something” to hear more beautiful harmonies with Kevin’s cello ❤️
I'll be sure to add that to my list! Thank again, AJ!
‘Shallow’, ‘perfect’, ‘Dancing on my own’ also have Kevin playing Cello. All are beautiful.
Wow! Went down the PTX rabbit hole, as so often happens, and found this delicious gem - ‘Say Something’. Kristin takes the lead, but the others are showcases so beautifully. Merry Christmas.
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas!
Pentonix had momentous year. They celebrated their tenth anniversary as a group, they returned to touring (with 11,000+ at their recent Minnesota show), Zoe in became a dad to Kaia, born in April-and Matt’s wedding is January 2, 2022!
Once you get more into Scott, you will find he can accompany anything or person he works with.
Kevin also plays cello for Perfect (Scott sings lead), and Shallow.
This is such a beautiful song and makes me cry every time. Thanks for the reaction.
Thanks darlene!
Thanks WW!!! So glad to have you along for the ride!
Spectacularly beautiful. It's trite, but thank YOU Scott and all PTX.
I tear up everytime I hear this...
This is one of my favorite songs of PTX! I love that Scott wrote the song with his partner during the 1st Christmas season of the pandemic. And they perform it beautifully!! They even performed this one in their Christmas concert tour this year. Love your reactions!! Merry Christmas! 🎄♥️
Thanks VM! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Another great song from Pentatonix and another great reaction from you. Thank you, Chris, for what you’re doing here. You are very much appreciated. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Thanks so much, Beverly! I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas!
That four minute intro was absolutely wonderful, Chris. Well done.
Having said that, I trust that you'll continue to explore Pentatonix! At the end of your reaction to "The Prayer", you said "Here's the best part...the BEST part about Pentatonix to me, is that I have waaaay more music I get to listen to that I'd never heard yet before from this group!"
You then correctly postulated that it's fun for us to watch someone react to PTX for the first time, which is part of the reason why your channel grew so quickly.
Good tips, bud!
stunning performance
Thank you for all your great reactions!
Thanks so much for your kind comments!
Thank you for your words at the end of this reaction - My broken heart needed to hear those words - this year at Christmas -
Thanks so much! Blessings to you my friend!
Well Merry Christmas to you too!☺️ 🌞🌡🔥🥵 Yes I'm one of those people who have a mega hard time and just ignore it all. So it's very odd that I love all the PTX but that is their power over us 😊👍🏻👍🏻💖
Best combination...
That sounds like a wonderful evening! So glad it sounds like you had a good Christmas! Blessings, my friend!
I'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet puppy.🙏 I grew up with Cockers and adored them. I've had Poms as an adult and have lost not only my favorite uncle and my last grandparent, but also my two 15 year old Poms since October 2021. Sending you and your family many hugs.
Merry Christmas & Thank You!!🌲🌲❤️💚
Thank you so much! Blessings to you this wonderful Christmas day!
THANK YOU for all of your reactions! They make my day..
Wishing you nothing but the best in your New Year..and more awesome reactions as well!
Thanks so much!
@@larryshair one very big Amen to thank and thank you for your prayers.yours and My prayers to you and hoping you have/had a very blessed Christmas :)
Thank you for your reactions - I have enjoyed joining you as you discovered Pentatonix over the last few months. Thank you also for the sign-language "thank you". This is a beautiful song and beautifully performed by Pentatonix. Merry Christmas to you.
Thanks Meg! You're the first to pick up on the sign language :)
Merry Merry Christmas!!! Many Many Blessings dear friend. Thank you Chris. Much appreciated today!!!
Thank you Patricia! Here's my Christmas wish for you today: "The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance (smile) upon you, And give you peace."
Dear Chris, Remembering your Father today. Just know that he walks with you everyday! Hugs Patti
Thank you Patti! You are so very kind. Blessings to you this Christmas!!!!
Thanks Kay! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
@@Eric1SanDiego1 Thank you very much for the info I'm new to his channel. Have a nice day and Happy Holidays !!
Thank you Larry! Blessing to you and your family this Chrismas!
My dad passed 3 years ago from the flu. This year 5 days before Christmas I contracted covid.
Couldn’t even see my kids. These reactions help me. Merry Christmas to you and your family. 🎄
Joy, I'm so sorry to hear about this path you're on, but I hope you know that you are not alone. Blessings to you, my friend.
One of the hardest decisions is to put a pet down. They are a part of the family. Sorry for your loss.💜
Thank you for your reactions. You are my favorite reactor😊
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY🎄☃️❄
I too would love to see you react to Avi's music! It is beautiful!!!
Thanks again, Vicki. You are always so kind and I'm humbled. I will be sure to add this on my list to come. Blessings to you this Christmas!
Yes please, yes! I couldn't agree more. I would love to see you react to Avi's solo music. He is so amazing!
Love your Pentatonix reviews. Just subscribed!
Thanks so much!
So sorry to hear about your dog. I jumped on your channel recently to see your review of Hallelujah PTX and i've really enjoyed your style and your delivery of the content. I'm happy to see that the channel is growing and hope it continues. Thank you for what you do and I hope you have a happy holiday.
Thanks so much, TRM! Your comments are so very kind. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!!
Your Christmas wish meant more than you can ever know! Thank you for sharing part of this blessed day with us.
Thanks so much Patricia!
Merry Christmas Larry. Really enjoyed your reactions to Pentatonix this season, as Scott says: all I can say is Thank You 🎄
Thanks AJ! So glad you enjoyed this ride with me!
You should definitely check out their cover of Say Anything. It's an older video, but the way that Scot and Mitches voices blend with the cello is stunning@
I believe the song is Say Something .
That 1st dog is Scott and Mark's. The other 3 are Kirstie's (littlest one is Floof but forgot other two names)
Olaf and Pascal, I believe. Scott's dog is Bubba.
That is what I took from the song, this is obviously just my interpretation and probably sounds absolute rubbish and gibberish to others but that is the point of a song, like a painting, everyone reads something different into it and what it means to them!(I don't need to talk about how amazing PENTATONIX is as that goes without saying and they did this song to perfection as usual!)
I hope everyone had a great day today and for those who struggled today and will continue to, remember that you are definitely not alone even though it may seem like that at times you are truly not and you are loved.
Once we do get one, I’ll be sure to show him off 😉
Marry Christmas to you and your family. And Thank you for so many great reactions.
Thanks so much, Adam! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!!
Thank you!
Love that! Thanks Sheila!
If this doesn’t hit you in the feels-wow! Beautiful song. Great, as always, reaction. Hope you had a Merry Christmas!
Sorry about your dog. Hugs!!!
Thanks Mary! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Thank you 💛
And Merry Christmas 🎅

Louise, you bring a smile to my face each time I see you in the comments! I'm very happy to know that I can put a smile on your face as well, especially with what you're going through. Just turned 56 a few weeks back. It's also kinda funny in a way to hear people call themselves a fan of mine. I'm just a regular guy that's really more of a fan of all of you (especially a fan of yours! 😉) Wishing you blessings this Christmas!

Bit Im a fighter and I will never give up. I dont believe in God but I believe in Good. The good people can do.

💔 Here’s a story (I believe) from Readers Digest:
“Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog’s owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.
I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn’t do anything for Belker and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.”
As they made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told the vet that they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure.
Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, “I know why.”
Startled, they all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned the vet. He had never heard a more comforting explanation. He says that it changed the way he will try and live.
“People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life - like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right? Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay for as long as we do.”
🐾♥️🐾
I love that!

Thanks Lisa! I'm really kind of surprised that this many people have subbed and have been so very kind (including yourself!). I've been very blessed! This whole thing really kind of caught me off guard on this growth. Again, I'm very humbled by it all. Thanks for your comments!
Merry Christmas and thank you for your videos. 🤗 🥰
Thank you so much, V. Merry Christmas to you this wonderful day!
So sorry about the loss of your doggy 😔
Thanks Katheryn!
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
You as well, Dawn!
Merry christmas to all of you! Pentatonix is soooo amazing. And so is Home Free. And pretty much every band/group I have seen you react to since I found your channel ;-)
If you are looking for new stuff, I got a suggestion for you: Marcelito Pomoy - The Prayer (the live version from Wish Bus 107). Don't want to spoil it, but I'm pretty sure it will make your jaw drop right on the table :D
Thanks Max! I will put that on my list.
Yes, it’s jiggle bells but that last chord is a bitt “off” which I’m sure is on purpose to capture the crazy pandemic times as this was released fall 2020 ❤️
❣❣❣❣❣
That's OK, at 72 I've earned every gray hair I have!
🎄🎄🎄🎄
I'll be keeping you in my mind today so I can keep you company in spirit. Blessings to you, my friend. Thinking of you.
Sorry, I somehow missed the fact you had to put your dog down. I'm so sorry. That's losing family.
@@larryshair So very kind of you. Thank you for that. I have an "afterlife" dog story to share if you care to hear it. You can find me on FB profiles. I am a writer, artist, and activist & I live in WA-that's how you can identify my profile. I think my story will bring you some comfort. Bless your heart.
@@sherylhenley1931 Thanks so much. It’s ok. He was a good boy. Blessings to you today!! 😀
I'm sorry to hear about your dog. We love them and miss them like family. You need to listen to Home Free singing "Christmas Ain't for the Lonely". Watch the video until the end. You'll see why I'm recommending it for you.
Thanks Ellen!
Merry Christmas. Looking forward to more musical discovery in 2022 which will no doubt lead you to Lara Fabian, Marc Martel, Morissette Amon 😬 and many others. Be well!!
You as well, kind sir! A very Merry Christmas to you this day! Loved interaction with you this year, and hope to continue into the next!!
My mom passed on Christmas day just last year.
Sending loving thoughts to you at this potentially difficult time. 🙏🙏
💚❤beautiful...Merry Christmas to you and yours, looking forward to the next phase of your journey ❤🎼💚
... if you love the combo of piano and cello I have a good one for you... it's a cover of Metallica's 'nothing else matters' Miley Cyrus does the vocals, WATT, Chad Smith, Robert Trujillo, Yo-Yo MA and Elton John do the amazingly beautiful music 💙🤘❄🎼💙
Thanks Genny! I'll be sure to add this to the list! Merry Christmas!
I'm so sorry...
Thanks for coming on board and joining me on this journey! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
