I used to take two pills and two nasal sprays a day because I’m also allergic to my very needy but much loved rescue cat. Now I get shots and have her groomed by mobile cat groomer once a month. Once I'm awake, I can't stay in bed too long for this reason; I get so antsy and fidgety but none of my friends or family understand! Hoping you're feelung better now, if not soon! 💕

My dad and I are allergic to cats, his is REALLY bad. I got a cat and bathed him once a week. You wouldn’t know we were allergic. If I go over to someone’s house with a cat who also claims “they bathe themselves” my eyes are instantly itchy. I stand by bathing ovi its a must and makes such a difference!
I’m allergic to my cat as well but I keep an air purifier near the bed, makes a big difference for me. He has to be able to sleep in bed with me or he will yowl all night!
@@amg1996exactly, and they bathe themselves with their saliva technically, which makes it worse for allergies. Hence the suggestion about bathing the cat at a groomer’s or yourself :) I’m very allergic to cats and dogs, and my sister regularly bathes her pets every time I come over, and it really makes a difference.

Have you ever thought about getting allergy shots? They are definitely a big commitment, but might be worth looking into so you and Meryl can live your best life. I started getting them about 1.5 years ago, and apparently I was allergic to a lot of thing since I get two shots in each arm 😂 but I no longer get dizzy spells, sinus pressure, ear infections, or bad seasonal allergies. It’s so nice being able to breathe, and I think it also keeps you from constantly being sick. I feel so bad you don’t get to give Meryl the love you wish you could without suffering for it!
Oh no, I feel you. My kids and I have been sick for two weeks now, night sweats, fever and the whole combo. I wish you a soon recovery and Merry Christmas!🎄

I caught something on the plane or in the airport, then my daughter caught it and then my dad. It's the snowball from hell. It's just a head cold, but my daughter and I have asthma. It's been a real struggle, we're still working through it. I hope you feel better soon, I'll be thinking about you.

Vet student here- Purina actually makes a cat food that can decrease the amount of allergen produced in the cat hair/dander by up to 47%! It’s called purina pro plan live clear. Might be worth a try However, always consult your veterinarian before making food changes as I know nothing about your cat or her preexisting conditions!
You could try high-quality air purifiers in the bedroom, as well as washing the bedding twice a week. if you’re not able to have Meryl sleep with you, possibly getting her a friend to keep her company at night might help her from getting so upset.

Have you ever considered allergy shots? I went from not being able to hang out with friends who had cats to being able to pet cats without dying. It's a bit of commitment, but it saved my quality of life (I'm also allergic to other things)! Merry Christmas!

Have you ever considered allergy shots? I went from not being able to hang out with friends who had cats to being able to pet cats without dying. It's a bit of commitment, but it saved my quality of life (I'm also allergic to other things)!

Gurl, SAME. Got sick on Christmas Eve and couldn’t spend the holidays with my family 😢was my first Christmas as married but both the hubby and I got sick so al least I am not alone.

Re: allergies - have you looked into immunotherapy? My mom and brother had severe allergies and did allergy shots/drops and saw major improvement from it after several months - a year. I hope you feel better soon!!
