They prevent raids, stop Discord Nitro Beggars, remove trollers and do what they can to help the server. So this video will tell you how to have the best Discord staff.

short answer: create applications. ask for time zones so you can have atleast 1 mod online at once. ask for prior experience and look into the servers they provide. make sure they are active, check their messages in the server, check their level and also see if you can trust them based on your connection and their behaviour in the server. check their prior punishments.

Awesome video Custom! This really helped get a geneal idea on what a good moderation/staff team should look like and I liked how you numbered the points as you went along in the video and even including another person who's had experience with this type of stuff to better explain some of the points (although his mic was loud lol). Although I did enjoy the video I still have a few questions about staff team like what type of template to use for staff applications and whether or not I should have someone help with them or not but other than that I enjoyed the video so keep up the good work Custom and I hope you continue to improve on your videos!
Do voice interviews after applications if you feel comfortable, it'll say a lot more about not only make your server seem more professional but it will also let you know a lot more about the person applying, like their maturity or make sure they're honest about their age (it's pretty easy to tell when there's a 12 year old claiming they're 16.)

Try to be more genuine in videos and have fun, don’t always make it about getting views/subs. I know this is kinda controversial. I jfeel you should just host events and have fun like simon says, or just make funny/fun videos.

Twig is a good mod :)
The structure I usually go with from to top bottom is:
Owner (Self explanatory)
Co-owner (same like owner but lower in level. Usually a person who is not the same timezone as me)
Admin (admins can bad, kick, mute, make channels, edit channels, make and edit roles. They are basically staff but they can edit the server too. People I really trust. They are here to improve the server, not just moderate it)
Staff/moderators (they are here to moderate the server as in make sure people follow rules and such. They can delete and pin messages, control people in voice chats. They can also kick and mute people but not ban them. They are generally people I trust less or are less experienced)
Combine it with UnbelievaBoat's warning system and it works amazingly

What's the difference between a moderator and a staff member?

2. I'd argue a staff ladder of positions isn't really necessary if your server is small, maybe trial mod and mod but not much more
3. You mentioned quotas, I'm curious how do you calculate your quota for your servers, and how would it vary for smaller communities?

Staff
Moderator
Senior moderator
Admin.
Server managers.
You can apply for staff. They are mostly use for shot moderating. And helping with the channels and stuff. If you apply for moderator. Oyu have to be more active than staff. And you have to do pure moderation and you can help with the server. You don't have to be insensively active as staff but you have to for Moderator. After moderator you get promoted on how you work. So those are the 2 apps of my server and basically the staff team structure of my server

I got a new mod recently.
They took over the server and ruined everything I could only delete it and start over.
I will definitely use this so that wont happen again
Always always always make sure your lowest mods have no perms but what they need to moderate (ban kick mute wan etc) the better higher the mod the more perms they get, that way the new ones won’t rip up your server
@@Zinklof I didnt do that in that server so they added a malware bot that spammed channels and spammed everyone pings after they banned every member

This was the same for me. I spent around 5-6 months growing to 400 members then what I though a trusted admin banned everyone then got me banned of like 10 servers for fake messages.

My discord server gets members but they always leave :(
I watched different Videos about how I can improve my Server and everything but it won't really work because the problem on my Server are the people.
We have 700 members and I would say 95% of them are under 18 and 60% of then are under 16 and I think around 25% are even under 13 and it's difficult to moderate a Server full of childs. Some of them are toxic and don't do what is written in the rules and my Server also never gets that active because everyone is scared there happens an argument and 95% of the Server members are shy and introvert.
I think this is an unsolveble problem because I can't change people.
The server im in owner gave staff to some chick cause they use to sext. He’s given up on the server and keeps transferring ownership to her (a staff member that went inactive however long ago)instead of the co owners.
