- Soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) prepare to conduct a Large-Scale Long-Range Air Assault into the Joint Readiness Training Center on Fort Johnson, LA. This is a pre-scheduled readiness exercise that has been planned for several months and is intended to test and strengthen our unit’s readiness. Close to 80 Army helicopters from Fort Campbell, KY, will stop at several locations throughout the flight path to refuel and resupply before they assault onto training objectives at Fort Johnson, LA. There will be three primary stops for refuel and resupply: Millington, TN, Monroe, MS, and Oxford, LA. #usa #army #airborne

That is new to me...we sling loaded vehicles under our CH 47 Chinooks. I never seen a vehicle go on the inside. Of course, I am old, that was in the 80's when I was in the 101st.
Some do sling vehicles underneath.😊
I flew like this in desert storm with a TOW hummer. Same outfit. Very interesting.
Been a long time since I crewed one of those beasts, but when we flew over civilian areas for long distances, we would load internal. In the 90s, we would have definitely loaded hummers internal for a Campbell to Polk flight.

I was 11C with 2/502 91-93 and 3/187 94-99. Whenever we deployed to JRTC Ft. Polk we loaded on busses to " simulate " the 18 hour plane ride to "anywhere" in the world .
Maybe it's practice to deploy to the southern border. That would be awesome.

I remember doing this back in 89. We drove our HEMTTs from Campbell to NAS Memphis. When we all walked into the Navy chow hall in our flight suits. And our leather name tapes with nothing but our names a blood types. They said we were in the enlisted and needed to go too the officers mess. That was a fun TDY trip.

I've seen some of the troops pretending to resist the ILLEGAL immigrants from getting into our country from the boarders and purposely failed. To the war mongers who advocate and send our troops into harm’s way in other countries without American support/approval and going to war without Congressional approval on both sides of the political divide, stop obligating our troops, our children, our future to enrich yourselves, your families, and empower your tyrannical regime. You have no shame, honor, integrity or personal decency to others you send into harm’s way.
To ordinary Americans who love our country, let us please ban together to support all our troops internationally and inside country. Let us especially ban together and assist our National Guard from Texas and Florida, regardless of where we live, with needs they have we can contribute and assist.
Many of these soldiers have taken pay cuts to protect our nation. Some have families, some have no one at all. I know the USO helps military personnel but are there already churches or groups that are helping our soldiers at the boarder currently? I would really like to stay away from the so-called charities that take a large portion of money donated because they often line their own pockets first. And there are all kinds of needs…some cost nothing. Letters and cards of encouragement for example.
If you know of trusted organizations or churches who are helping directly, please reach out to them and find out how more people can find and support our troops. Many of you want to do more but don’t know how. I’m the same way. Tomorrow, I’ll begin to reach out to churches in Texas and try to reach the USO. I will also try to reach chaplain services for Texas and Florida National Guard. If others will do the same and post under this thread. Perhaps we can help each other find a way to help our troops in various ways to show our support.
Today is January 14, 2024. I will post any progress by end of day on January 20, 2024 and those wanting to work together to support the TX and FL National Guard can brainstorm and coordinate moving forward.
