The one "have to" that seems needed... you have to enjoy photography or you will never have fun with the idea of carrying a camera around. Love your premise ...FIRST, just get a camera and take pictures. Then you can decide what else is going to help.

I have to get up at 3am , but yes concentrate on what you enjoy doing , not what you imagine yourself doing , theyre not the same thing

How about "you have to buy everything new" ? The only thing I buy new are memory cards.

So true! New is not always better…the Nikon D600 was a disaster!!

@@KateSilviaPhotography The Nikon D300 is one of my favorites. You can get one in good shape for around $120. I have 7 of them. Tied with the D300 is the Pentax K5 for about $200 I have 5 so far.

True, but if you see someone selling something at a great deal, jump on it and later sell off what you don't need.
I recently bought a Sony a6500 with a 50mm lens and a zoom lense 18-135 mm for $1500 CDN with rechargable batteries (4) and 2 filter lens as well.
Also has a 256 gig memory card.
Just the body alone was going for $1k to 1.2k on other ads.
So the best thing as well is to buy used if possible. You can save TONS of cash.

Used gear is a great option. Then you’re not falling into the trap by spending too much money. 💰 ☺️

Biggest trap they set up, is that you need fullframe 😉

Yep -- You're absolutely right! Same thing with lenses!
