    Thank you, as always. I'm not generally a fan of Georgian architecture - it's as if the buildings were more 'rational' than the people, if that makes any sense. :) I'd be interested to know about the church - it seems to be of an earlier date, perhaps? Anyway, I love your videos, and always look forward to your posts. In the US, the oldest architecture we have is what is left of Native sites, and we Western Europeans certainly can't lay claim to them. For instance; I once visited an ancient Huhugam site in Phoenix, AZ, that was last occupied in the 15th century. But please - keep your videos coming. I'm such an Anglophile and lover of architecture. :)

      The church is 250 years old and is not original. The original church was situated by the house at the bottom of the hill, where it once used to be. Only the tombs remain from the original church today.
      I appreciate the kind comments, thank you!

    What was that octagon shaped building used for?

    • @MedievalRichard
      @MedievalRichard  3 года назад

      At 2:05? If so it is described as a "garden room". Known as The Rotunda, it was designed by Brown and built between 1754 and 1757.
