- Leaving Tewksbury on our Narrowboat and heading through the Avon lock onto the River Severn, we hope to find a mooring at Upton upon Severn, but with the promise of sausage rolls and catching up with friends we decide to try and make it to Worcester. With power running low and time running out we stop to help a stranded narrowboat and risk getting grounded ourselves.
Paul & Anthony together with Dexter live full time, but manage to work part-time, on a Narrowboat, cruising the UK Canals and finding out what it's really like to be Living on a boat exploring the Nature and scenery on some of the best canals and rivers in the UK onboard an Oakums Narrowboat called Morning Star. Our brand brand new narrowboat from Oakums Narrowboats is embracing the latest technology including lithium, solar, and electric propulsion, the boat will be coal and gas free. We can't wait to share our new adventures with you.

Thanks Sylvia. It was a bit scary but glad everyone managed to get moored safely. Hope you have a nice weekend ❤
Great vlog. Nothing like a nice relaxing day 😅
Thanks Dave. No 😂. Could do without those relaxing days. Have a good weekend ❤
Well done you. May good karma come back to you. Watching from Kansas, USA.
Thank you Lisa. Wow, Kansas sounds very pretty but never been. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Brilliant video thank you superheroes 😊
Thanks Jules. We were quite scared doing that rescue but glad we all ended moored up safely. Have a good weekend ❤️
Watching from Valrico Florida USA. You both are awesome!!😎
Thanks Stephen. Love Florida. Have a good weekend ❤
Hi from South Africa Anthony & Paul. Wish we had rivers like you do 🙂🙂.
Aww but South Africa is so beautiful Marina. You definitely would love the rivers here though. Have a lovely weekend. ❤
Thank you, you too ❣

27:28 watching from Louisville, KY- home of the Kentucky Derby! 🐎
❤️.
Sorry you miss your sausage Roll I like you both and Dexter to KYABRAM is a country town in Victoria who has a Zoo not far from were I live on my own love the show
Us too Robert. Just googled and it looks a beautiful place. We nearly moved to Australia many years ago. Hope you have a lovely week ❤
Love how light and bright the inside of Morning Star is due to the sky lights and also really enjoy seeing the reflections of clouds, bridge and trees in the skylights as well !
Us too. It makes a massive difference Katherine. The reflections are amazing. Have a great weekend ❤️
Oh my, glad you all are alright! Just the mention of sausage rolls made me hungry lol! Have a great time ❤❤
All good Arleen. I know, can’t believe we didn’t get one in the end. Hope you have a good weekend ❤️
Fabulous show, truly enjoy watching your videos. Scenery is beautiful. Hope Dexter finally got to wee.
Aww thank you Deborah. Glad you are enjoying them. He did get to wee bless him. ❤️
What a lovely day for messing about on the river or rescuing people, glad Dexter got to go wee wee was getting worried ❤
It was great weather Mich certainly helped with the rescue. Poor Dexter, we felt so sorry for him. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
We’ll done you two that looked rather scary on the rescue and we’ll done Dexter on waiting to go potty. The river looks rather tricky to navigate too. Ah well you made it to the lock 👏. Take care have a good weekend now go and crack open the wine🤣
Thanks Judith. I was totally scared to be honest, especially when the boat spun around. It can be tricky on rivers because of the flow and lack of moorings. Bless Dexter. He did so well. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Greetings from New Hampshire, US. This was a great episode and I loved your positive attitudes and teamwork.
Greeting to you. So glad you enjoyed this. The rescue was a bit stressful but pleased everyone managed to moor safely. Hope you have a lovely week ❤️
Perth Western Australia. 🙃🙂
Hey Liz. Only ever visited the eastern side of Oz. My mate at school loved in Perth for a while before coming to the U.K. have a great weekend ❤
Watching from Canada and really enjoy your videos. Happy cruising ⚓️😀
Thanks Scott. Canada is definitely on our bucket list. Glad you enjoy the vlogs. ❤️
Good job for keeping so calm! We were proper stressed watching 😮
😂. I was stressed to death. Hope you guys are good. ❤️
Gosh that was an exciting episode. I had butterflies in my tummy watching you rescue the other boat. Well done 👍🏻
We were very sacred Jen. Glad it all turned out ok. Have a good weekend ❤
Well done guys, as you said you hope that some other good soul will help you out if you have a moment of need. It can be a worry making sure you don't get into difficulty yourself when helping others. You were very aware of the possible dangers and managed to free the other boat without getting too stuck yourselves, Well done!
We love your boat, went on it at Crick, at the time we hadn't come across you.
I'm a little concerned about the amount of fuel you've used in about 3 months, June - August (based on late evening light), a lot more than your previous boat, particularly as you have a lot of solar and it was the summer season. I notice that you probably have an induction hob and therefore possibly no gas, I also know that you have a diesel reflex heater. Could the difference be down to the fact that you don't have gas or coal/logs and are having to use diesel more for that. I know you have had battery charging issues but I wouldn't have thought a few tweaks to the charging algorithms would make a lot of difference.
Best wishes to you both and Dexter, hope to meet you some day.
Brian Jean and Meg (spaniel) - NB Water Angel
Hey guys. Definitely couldn’t have passed them by. So pleased we all got a safe mooring.
We are shocked at the fuel we have used. Definitely the hob and oven uses a lot of power (the diesel heater not so much), but we suspect the solar isn’t giving the yield it should and we are having panels replaced in the next month or so. Once the work has been done we will assess consumption again.
Love to you all from us. Have a great weekend ❤
Brilliant vlog. As a 100% electric narrowboater. We are confused about the electric you use. Our bow thruster has a separate battery 24 volt in series. I think you should look at isolating this from your main supply. It may help. Obviously during the winter months there is less solar however you should only be using 1.5 kW for cruising if you’re using more there may be something wrong. Electric should always be cheaper as the sun is free and on a good day even a cloudy day, it should reap more than it sows. Please continue your fabulous vlogs but also check with your provider as something isn’t quite right if it’s costing you more than Diesel engine. Anything we can help with by all means ask x
Glad you enjoyed. I don’t think the bow thrusters are isolated to be honest, as for the motor, we do tend to cruise for free but we know the solar isn’t performing as it should and are awaiting the panels to be replaced, this may explain why we aren’t getting the power we should. We are currently a bit disappointed with the set up as as you said, we expected it to be much cheaper than a diesel. Thanks for the input. Fingers crossed the replacement solar will help. Have a lovely evening ❤
Hi there, Riveradal! Thank you for your thoughtful input and suggestions. It's intriguing to learn about your experience with a 24V system and your bow thrusters. Perhaps your experience with your boat, can help us improve. We primarily use a 48V or 96V system for our engines. Morning Star, at present has a Cambus Network. The Cambus Network by Vetus does indeed play a significant role in our setup, and disabling a component could trigger a fault in the network, which is both a safety feature and at times, a bit of a limitation. This would cause the engine system to fail. For that reason, components can't be disabled. I am curious to hear what you're setup is, as I was unaware of a 24v engine setup, and brushless thrusters, also 24v.
Our bow and stern thrusters are part of this Cambus Network, and they tend to be power-hungry. As they are a big power draw, the batteries fitted, have a 800a continuous power draw limitation. Since we use a combined 48V system drawing from a single set of 800Ah usable batteries, it's essential for smooth operation.
The Vetus system appears to have a higher power demand, possibly due to its 13" blade. Our customer data shows an average power consumption during cruise time ranging from 2.5kW to 3.5kW. Some customers even go up to 10kW during specific conditions, like river cruising. With a 40kWh capacity at 100% on the batteries, that translates to about 10 hours of cruising, assuming no onboard power or Victron Invertor/Charger inefficiencies.
Sharing your data could be incredibly helpful for us to further improve our systems. If you're willing, we'd love to know more about your engine setup, battery type, inverters, and solar capacity on board. Any electrical data would be greatly appreciated, and I'd be happy if you wanted to email me directly?
Currently, our Victron VRM doesn't record Vetus engine data, so your input can provide valuable insights. Looking at our August data, Morning Star used 149kWh for AC onboard leisure power, with 91.6kWh coming from solar, despite having a faulty panel. The generator output was 285kWh, recorded at 47 hours of use, which is roughly 1.58 hours per day.
Deducting the 149kW used for internal leisure leaves us with 227.6kW for cruise use and inverter inefficiency. Victron consumes about 15kW per week, so if we subtract that, we're left with 186kW, which aligns with our Vetus data, though it doesn't include the power-hungry bow and stern thrusters.
At the moment, we're exploring more efficient engine systems and quicker charging options with larger generators. If we can reduce propulsion usage through an alternative engine and increase generator output, we'll have a more effective way to replenish power.
To sum it up, our current power breakdown looks like this:
- 149kWh for leisure
- 60kWh for inefficient power
- 186kWh for propulsion
We recently upgraded the inverter for greater efficiency (95%). In terms of diesel consumption, our M3.29 Marine Diesel Engine (27HP) has a fuel consumption of 270 g/kW.h. We appreciate your insights and the opportunity to explore your data in making our system even more efficient. Thank you!
Well done helping the stuck boat😊nice video 😊thank you
Thank you Rickon. Glad we managed to get them free and all moor safely. Have a lovely weekend ❤
What a great episode, it had it all. Drama, suspense, and even a happy ending, well done boys.
Cheers Jay. So glad we could help, although I did panicking when our boat spun round. Hope you have lovely weekend ❤
Lovely scenery as usual and good weather. An adventure moving that boat & almost getting stuck.
Thanks Carol. It was so scary trying to rescue that boat. Really thought we had got stuck ourselves. Have a fab weekend ❤
On a river you need to learn how to wild moor as there are always far fewer moorings than on a canal. Great vlog though you 'good samaritans'! 😘
We did consider it Jill but we can’t with Dexter. No way to get him off to do his toilet. Glad you enjoyed and glad the guys on the other boat were ok. Have a good weekend ❤
Well ….. this has been a very stressful watch 😱 I was so nervous for you. Thank goodness you were all safe, you did a great job Anthony 💪 have a great week xxx
We were very scared Angela. Glad we actually all got moored safely. Hope you have a fab week too ❤️
So now I'm exhausted, but good job Anthony, steering through all that mess! That's the price of being good guys -- and you are always ready to pay, it seems. Thank you for sharing -- the vicarious river life is wonderful and not possible without you!
Thanks Diana. My heart was in my mouth during that rescue. We definitely couldn’t have passed them by and who knows when we need help. Glad you are enjoying the vlogs. Have a fab weekend ❤
I'm sure Dexter is excited about the mention of Sausage rolls 😅💙💙🐾
Definitely Susan. He is so food orientated. ❤️
Loved this. Very dramatic! Well done. Very nice of you to help out.
Thanks Sarah. It was quite a scary thing to do but glad everyone came out unscathed. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Well that was scary. Well done helping the other boaters. A wonderful thing to do. I would need a drink or three after that. Take care and cheers
I definitely needed a drink or three afterwards 😂. Glad everyone came out unscathed. Have a great weekend ❤
Talk about it cliffhanger I could feel the tension. The River Seven is just beautiful and I know you won't be going that way but the estuary is stunning. Thanks for sharing. Love to the three of you ❤Stephen
It was so scary Stephen, especially when it felt like the boat was tipping up! Glad you enjoyed. So pleased everyone escaped unscathed. Hope you are keeping safe with this terrible weather. Enjoy the weekend ❤
We learned to never pass a mooring on a river! And you two are never going to learn about time are you? 😂
It was so kind of you to stop and rescue that narrowboat though. Xx
I was fuming Paul didn’t want to stop when I suggested. Nah, time, what’s that 😂. Definitely couldn’t have left them stranded although I was stressed to hell when the boat spun around. Hope you guys are ok ❤️
Evening guys,
Quite a journey along the River Severn with a few hiccups along the way. Luckily, all turned out well.
Did you get a drink at the end?
Can you not fix the horn on a clamp that is attached like one used on an inspection lamp. Therefore, no holes need to be drilled.
Anyway, enjoy the rest of the weekend. x
Hey Bill.
Definitely a few hiccups. We didn’t just get a drink at the end, we needed one. 😂.
Horn all drilled in now. The problem is there is no room on the roof for it.
Hope you are having a good weekend. Let us know when you get a date for your cardio version x
We were chuckling about your new crew outfits🤪did you accidentally put the same stuff on? Or were you doing the yachty thing where they have the same kit? Well done for rescuing those boaters, I hope they have you a bottle for saving them! Heart in mouth moments when you got spun round! You could really see how strong the current was, but well done Anthony , you handled that like a seasoned pro. Calm when you are doing it , time for panic when you have done. A great vlog ☮️
Hey Crichie. Definitely an accident 😂. We were glad we could manage to free them and they did give us some chocs and wine bless them. They didn’t need to do that. I was proper panicky when we spun round. It definitely needed a glass of wine at the end of the day. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Gosh that was stressful for your viewers so goodness knows what it was like for you. I lived in Gloucester for many years and saw the river in flood many times so hope you are safely off the river before all this rain comes down the Severn. Now living in Cheshire near the Macclesfield canal but it’s pretty wet here. Take lots of care. Best regards.
It was very scary Marilyn. We are off the rivers now. It has been horrific with the rain the last few days. Love the Macclesfield. This was a consideration for winter. Hope you have a great weekend ❤
Use command hooks and strips all the time
They are brilliant aren’t they Susan. Hope you are keeping well and the storm isn’t affecting you too much x❤
Upton - on- Severn I believe has a marina
We couldn’t find it Barbara. We thought it did too. 🤷♂️. ❤
I'm in West Yorkshire me and my wife met you both in Mirfield when you had the boat before this one. Take care guys. Richard and Anne.
Hey Richard. We loved when we did the canals up there. We are back on the Leeds Liverpool at the moment. Hope you and Anne are keeping well. Have a lovely week ❤️
Will you be in mirfield at all. Thanks for replying guys.
We are going to try and get as far as we can but with the Leeds river lock out, we aren’t sure 😢
My god I had to have a drink after that video . . . I was a bundle of nerves watching it 😂. Well done on the rescue guys. Great video as always. Have a lovely weekend.
Thanks Mark. I definitely needed a drink after that day. Really stressed at the time. The couple were lovely too. Hope you have a great weekend ❤
What’s good day you are ace. We’re in Bolton Lancs in the middle of storm Babet
Thanks Christine. It really was a bit scary. We are in Cheshire doing the same. Stay safe ❤️
That was so exciting. I am exhausted. Love you guys
Thanks Sherrie-Dee. It was quite the day 😯. Have a great weekend❤
Wow!!!!! my heart was in my mouth watching you rescue that boat, well done guys. Watching from Risca South Wales.
It was so scary Phil. Really thought we had gotten stuck too. They were so lovely too. Love South Wales. Beautiful. Have a great weekend ❤
Must be quite scarey getting stuck. Especially if you’re just waiting for passing help. Glad you boys were able to help. Very picturesque location tho. Have a fabulous week ❤
Hey Trevor. They had been there for hours. We were pleased we managed to rescue them but was scary when the boat spun around. We did have a lovely evening together though. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Watching from Naples Fl.Well done helping what goes around cones around .
Thank you Marie. We definitely wouldn’t have wanted to pass them by. Love Florida by the way 😊. Have a good weekend ❤
Here from rural Canada. My wife and I have now gone to the UK for a decade to enjoy the canals for a month. Very kind of you to alter your journey to help out the "stuck" narrowboat. We have been impressed with the kindness of the people on the canal and rivers. It just so happens we will be doing this route next spring and I have hopefully marked the spot of this event to avoid it on our journey. Thank for your generosity in sharing your boating journey.
Hey good luck with the holiday guys. We absolutely love the community on the canals. Glad you enjoyed our journey and hope it helps with yours. Have a lovely weekend guys. Sorry for the late reply. ❤
A successful rescue, great vlog. Thank you.
Sth Coast of Western Australia.
Cheers.
We were so pleased everyone got moored safely Jane. South coast sounds beautiful. Have a great week ❤
Another lovely video! Those two bridges were cool, the stone one and then the Telford one. Is it not possible when you are stuck just to tie off on some trees or something for the night, or is that just not done at all? And I think it must be quite frustrating to have to buy so much fuel when you have an electric boat (I would feel a little peeved at that). And then Narrowboat Life Unlocked to the rescue!!!! Yay!!! 😊😊 I hope the storm did not affect you guys too much, and I hope you have a wonderful week.
Thanks James. Some people do this but our predicament was getting Dexter off for the toilet. We still haven’t got to the bottom of why we are using more fuel on our system than we did on our old boat. Makes me wish we had stuck with diesel to be honest.
We were pleased we were all able to moor safely. Thankfully, we were ok during the storms and the weather is now absolutely glorious. Hope you have a lovely week ❤️
I love that the Lock Keeper’s dog has his own little chair for lounging and watching the narrow boats go through the lock ! It’s so great being able to take your dog to work !
That dog was so cute. What a life watching the world go by. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤️
Why can you not wild moor like Narrowboat Will. ?
Easy for Dexter to go to the loo.
GERRY from Newtownards N.I.
Hey Gerry. We definitely could if we were on our own but to get the boat close enough to the bank to get Dexter off would be difficult because of his age. 😢. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
What a cracking video, and well done on the rescue. No wonder you were exhausted and bless Dexter he did so well. We're watching from the beautiful mountain village of Casares, Andalusia, Spain. If you get a chance, have a quick peak on the tube.
Thanks Raymond. Pleased everyone got to moor up safely. It was a very tiring day and bless Dexter and the indignity of being hoisted up for a wee. Love Andalusia. We did a tour around but didn’t get to Casares. We loved Granada and Rhonda. In fact, we nearly bought a place in Granada. Had a look and Casares looks beautiful. Have a lovely weekend ❤️
Watching from Warrington which I'm sure you're very familiar with! My daughter lives in Gt Sankey, and we've been to The Dream many times in St Helen's where I believe you lived xx
I sure am Christine. I know Great Sankey too. We used to live in StHelens. Hope you are having a good evening ❤
Loved the vlog, great scenery, you did so well with that conundrum.
Would you think about showing some of your cooking skills Anthony, you bring out some great looking food, would love to see how you prepare it.
Glad Dexter managed to get a wee wee.
See you all next week.x
Thanks Jayne. Glad you enjoyed it. I have done some cooking stuff in the past so would definitely do some but again.
Bless Dexter crossing his legs. He did so well. Have a great weekend ❤
Use a magnetic bracelet for the horn works a treat and easy to move when cleaning
Thanks Mark for the tip. Since had it drilled onto the boat but that definitely would have worked. Have a great weekend ❤
Well done for the rescue, hope your all OK and this weather is not causing you too much trouble. Stay safe sending lots of love xxxxx
Aww thanks Michele. It was quite a stressful day but all ended well. Weather isn’t too bad. It is quite windy. Hope you guys are keeping safe ❤
@anthonysmith-storey9247 so glad you are OK 🥰, we have had a lot of rain today but the wind wasn't too bad hopefully tomorrow will be a better day xxxxx
@@michelefoxton1586 fingers crossed 🤞 x
Well done rescuing your fellow boaters. This episode had a little bit of everything. You asked us to post where we are watching from. I live in the U.S. in the western part of North Carolina in the Smoky Mountains. I waned to post a picture with my comment but couldn’t figure out how. I’ll work on that. 😢
Thanks Jeanne. It was quite the day. Oh wow. The smoky mountains sounds beautiful. Don’t think you can post pics which is sad. Hope you are having a good weekend ❤
That's the problem with rivers - the moorings ! Oh, and getting off them 😂
Also, I'm watching from a little place called Cholmondeston 😉
😂. I couldn’t wait to get back on the canals to be honest David.
Oh, Cholmondeston sounds like a nice place 😜. ❤️
Silver Fox was owned by two lads , as i did see the build of that narrowboat made. I have for got there names now as it was so long in the past.
💜💙💚
❤️
Well done Paul and Anthony for the rescue
Thanks Ernest. They were so relieved. Have a great weekend ❤
There doesnt seem as many moorings on the river? And poor Dexter having to be lifted onto land. Some lovely autumnal colours and reflections, on the blue rather than canal brown waters. What a good deed helping the grounded narrowboat but it gave you some worries and your own problems. But like any good story, it all ended well, and there were plenty of laughs as well throughout, thank you for that. Happy week to you three xxx
There aren’t Susan. The indignity of Dexter being lifted to do his toilet. ❤The river was crystal clear. Loved it. So glad everyone got free and safe. We had a lovely evening with them all too. Have a good weekend ❤

The green buoys are a little clue regarding depth
Anthony - thought you handled that rescue very well - I was laying on the sofa with my border terrier at my feet & getting very tense at rescuing those people. Greetings to Paul and Dexter too! All the best…..Kevin & Finn 👍😀
Hey Kevin. My heart was in my mouth to be honest. So glad we managed to rescue them and ourselves 😂. Have a lovely evening and belly rubs for Finn ❤

I dunno - if you hadn’t done a walk around Tewksbury, you’d have been kicking yourself for not doing so while you had the chance - or at least that’s what I would have done! We are harder on ourselves than we would ever be to a stranger - it’s not often that I can lie in, but when I can, I take full advantage, nothing better! Also a big fan of naps, but I digress
since I’m 🇨🇦, I originally wrote ‘Toquesbury’ and thought ‘No that can’t be right!’ 🤣😄For those not familiar, Toques are winter hats in Canada but pronounced the same
We definitely would have kicked ourselves for not having a look around. It was beautiful too. Love a lie in when I can too. Never heard of Torques. Will have to google now 😂. Have a good weekend ❤️
@@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked when I lived in the States for a few years I astounded my co-worker by referring to a toque, and my reply ‘so what do you call them? Knit hats you wear in winter?’ 🤣😄 I think we have the French Canadians to thank for having a proper word for winter head gear - I was pretty surprised though, I thought everyone called them that
Hi Anthony and Paul. What a nail biting end. I’m glad you were able to help that couple and moor in the end. I’m sure you’re right that you’d like to think that if you were ever in the same situation that someone would be willing to help. Take care. Nick
It was a scary situation Nick. Glad everyone came out unscathed. I always like to thing good turns come back to you. They were so relieved. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Watching from Indonesia. My word, that is a beautiful river. Liz ❤
PS. Don't forget to update us on the fuel consumption, it sounded interesting. 🔌⛽
Hey Liz. Wow, that is some distance.
We have struggled to do a proper calculation but currently, we seem to be using more fuel than on our last boat, which isn’t what we expected. We are due to have some work done which included replacing some solar panels so fingers crossed that will help with the consumption. Have a fab weekend ❤
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 Not what I would have expected either. 🤔 Let us all know about the work and new solars when it happens. Jamie and I (as sailboat constant cruisers since 2006) are watching your progress with interest. 🤗
@@followtheboat we will definitely be vlogging the work we have done and hopefully we will see an improvement. 👍 ❤️
Never a dull moment with you guys.
Definitely not Richard. Have a lovely weekend ❤️
Well done do boys for helping that couple out, but omg that was a stressful watch! Glad you got there in the end. Have a lovely weekend 🥰🥰
Thanks Lesley. We couldn’t have just left them. It was very scary. So pleased we all escaped unscathed. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
What an adventure!. Really enjoying your videos. Although I like to hear the engine of the old boats, it is also lovely to have the peace and serenity of yours. 😊
Thanks Sue. It was quite the day. So glad everyone got safely moored. Agree, love the old engine sound too. Have a fab weekend ❤
Another Swede here ! Best holiday ever was cruising on the Llangollen a couple of years ago with our friends.
Love following you two and your adventures 😊
Hey Maggie. Glad you enjoy the vlogs. So glad you got to experience the Llangollen. It is absolutely stunning. Have a great weekend ❤
Thanks guys, another great vlog. It's funny you should mention hindsight.
I'm now bottling hindsight for just those occasions. It comes in 3 sizes, small medium and large. A small bottle is £1.99, medium is £4.99 and large $9.99. 🤣
Thanks Henry. We will take your entire stock 😂. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
Gerry Anderson would write a script,,,,All the best., Tricia and Neilx
😂. It was quite scary guys. Have a great evening ❤
Well that was dramatic........😮☺️
i thought you were going to get stuck, and the other boat just pootled away 🤣🤣
The thing is, if you had started the day earlier.........🤣🤣
Well some people are born to organise and plan, thats me im afraid. Someone did whisper in my ear what you were like.
Think you can guess who, he likes a pint and he lead you astray for....... was it nearly 6 months.
Well done for rescue, and for people that dont do rivers, that flow can be very deceiving ❤💙
Hey Mark. That is exactly what we thought was going to happen 😂. We know, we kept saying that too re starting earlier. We aren’t organised at all ( who ever told you 😂).
Glad all worked out well and we had a lovely evening with everyone and a few glasses of wine was consumed!. Looking forward to a catch up soon. ❤
Aww I’m so glad u found somewhere and Dexter got to have his wee wee, I could sense the apprehension from you both.. great episode, we love your boat
Us too bless him. Definitely apprehensive. So scary. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
It’s an exciting and a beautiful video. You both did a wonderful thing to help others in need. Now you both deserve a drink!!!thank you for sharing 💙💙
Thank you. We definitely wouldn’t have left them stranded. After the drama, we did have a few glasses of wine 😂. Have a great weekend ❤️
Great episode guys! Watching you from Calgary Canada 🇨🇦 while we await the completion of our own narrowboat Touchè!
Thanks guys and good luck with your boat build, exciting times xx
Well done for rescuing that other boat. Such a kind thing to do, especially when it could have put you into danger. I love Tweskbury we go there when we can. Love your channel guys.
Thanks Scott. So pleased everyone managed to more safely. We did panic when the boat spun 😬. Tewksbury is a beautiful village. Glad you enjoy the vlogs. Have a lovely weekend ❤️
Dexter did well with his legs crossed! That was quite a cruise from the twin mariners (!), hope you are safe during this storm, near us the canal has overflowed into the river - or it may be vice versa - but no fun if you are in the wrong place. Stay safe.
We felt so sorry for him Joy. He really did do well. I can’t believe we were dressed the same 😂. All safe thank you. The canal is definitely very full and wild. Luckily the canals are safer than the rivers. Stay safe and take care ❤
Wow you sure have had some experiences in this new boat of your 😮. I might contact you as, have some questions ❤ such a good Vlog as always guys thank you, big cuddle for Dexter ❤❤❤
We certainly have Jacqueline. You can always contact us and if we can help, we would be only too happy. Love from us three ❤️
Canal and River Rescue R Us... 😅
I thought you were about to have a panic attack when your boat began drifting.
I think you need a bigger propeller or better still, a twin prop.
The pink tee shirts matched your faces by the time you got sorted.
Well done guys. A good deed indeed.
Hey Harry. That was quite the drama. I thought I was going to have a panic attack too. So scary. We definitely need a bigger prop. Luckily all ended well and several glasses of wine were consumed. Hope you are keeping well and safe in this weather. Take care ❤
Hi guys watching you from Sydney Australia have you done any night driving before?
Loved Sydney when we visited about 12 years ago. We have cruised at night and in the fog too 😯. Have a fab weekend ❤️
Drama! No Sausage Rolls! Desperate Dexter! and our heroes wearing the same T shirts! ...I think I need to lie down (and have a sausage roll!). 😀😀😀
😂. Gutted re the sausage rolls. Aww bless Dexter and the indignity of having to get lifted up to go to the toilet. I cannot believe we had the same T shirt on. 😂. Hope you are having a good start to your weekend Colin. ❤
Hi guys, wow, what a incredible journey youse had this time rescuing boats and the worst of all no sausage rolls for dinner , keep up the good work. Love your videos , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia
Hey Cliff. It was quite the day! Panicked when our boat started to spin in the opposite direction and to top it off, no sausage rolls 😂. Glad you enjoy the vlogs. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Dramarama! Beautiful day for it though :-) Poor Dexter, I bet he had all 4 legs crossed by the end. I hope you found something to eat! Since you asked us, I Live in South Australia 🙂 *hugs*
It really was a dramatic day but as you said, the weather was on our side at least. Poor Dexter bless him. I ended up making chorizo pasta. Oh nice, only ever visited eastern Oz. Hugs to you too. ❤️
Great driving Anthony, that was scary what a kind couple you are , oh I’m watching from boring wigan , stay safe Xx
Thank you Linda. Was so scared when the bow spun around. Couldn’t have left them though. Nothing boring about Wigan 😊. Have a fab weekend ❤
Awe bless, we would have sorted you out 😁 you passed us at Upton, we could see Grav fishing on the Jetty on your video as you passed 🤣 Good rescue, really enjoyed the video & your company obviously 😁 xx
Thanks Bev. Can’t believe we caught him fishing. We had a lovely evening with you guys though. Hope you are all keeping safe in this storm ❤
Try command strips I use them for my number plate on my car and they works and you can get them to take all different weight but all use more than you need to make sure they hold and she is a lovely boat
Thanks Andrew. They are brilliant. Definitely work well on the boat. Glad you like her. Have a lovely evening ❤
So dramatic . . . like a movie they'd make here in Hollywood, the Colony of California.
😂. It was actually really tense. I thought the boat was gonna tip at one point 😬. Hope you are keeping well. Have a lovely weekend ❤
You don't have to kowtow to a schedule! Enjoy your chaotic freedom!
Absolutely Andy. No adventure without chaos 😂. Have a fab weekend ❤
Incredible! That was a nail-biter! Poor Dexter - it’s a wonder that he didn’t burst! I hope that the next day was less stressful. 🙂
It really was stressful. The indignity of being lifted up bless him. He did so well holding it in. The next day was a lot more calm. 😊. Have a great weekend ❤
Greetings from Tucson Arizona. Love your escapes. Lovely to see the beautiful green countryside. It's very different here but just as lovely. I especially like your videos because you all are always so pleasant and positive no matter the situation. Keep the adventures coming. 😻
Thanks Patsy. Never been to Tuscan. We have visited a few states in the USA. Glad you enjoy the canal landscapes and our vlogs. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Wow what an exciting day , I was holding my breath for a while. Really looking forward to next episode. have a wonderful week xx
Thanks Irene and thank you so much for my birthday coffee treat xxx
When you dress the same it's hard to tell who's who a bit like the movie Twins with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito 😂.
😂 . My brothers are over 6’ and one of them I look like and that is what he used to say Graham 😂. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
Well that was a bit of a heart stopper, not a great day, I thought you’d hit that abandoned boat for a while there. I guess you have to have days like those to make you really appreciate the good days. We moved into our new house last week and finally have internet, I can now be sure I don’t miss any of your adventures. Sending love to the three of you, stay safe. 💕
Hey Pauline. It was quite the day. I totally panicked when the boat spun around 180°. Was pleased we could help though and everyone got safely moored. I will never complain about a mundane day again 😂. Congratulations and many happy memories in your new home. Glad you are all sorted with the internet. Amazing how much we rely on it. Love from us three. Have a great weekend ❤
I always thought narrow boat cruising was supposed to be relaxing :)
Me too Jeff 😂. What a day. Glad we could help though. Hope you have a great weekend ❤
Wow you two know how to have great adventures, great viewing though!!! Poor Dexter must have been crossing his legs bless. Have a great week 😊
Thanks Sandy. It was quite scary I can tell you 😬. Bless Dexter and the indignity of being passed up to go to the toilet. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Blimey! What a day… well done Anthony you did well controlling the boat. I’m in Dorset, no canels down here 😢
It really was a day Tracie. Really panicked when it spun around. Dorset is a beautiful part of the world. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Good on ya for helping those guys .
Tethys recently did a comparison & it seemed like they use more diesel than a standard narrow boat
Thanks Aidie. Couldn’t have left them stranded. I saw their comparison and have to agree, we have used loads more than we expected. Have a lovely weekend ❤️ .
Brilliant Vlog!! Well done you two for helping out fellow boaters. What an eventful day for you three. Thank goodness it was a glorious day. Sending love 🥰❤
Thanks guys. Yeah, the weather was on our side at least. Glad we could help although I am not going to lie, I panicked when the boat spun around. Sending love to the three of you ❤
