If my memory is right, I was pretty lukewarm on Darkest Hour, but that RUclips video I watched on the historian talking about it has upped my respect for it. Definitely want to watch it again
Quick Derek, you were discussing Contagion (2011) not that long ago? I am just learning a lot of movies are being made in Atlanta, Georgia, and Contagion was one of them. Don’t forget Darkest Hour is also a Best Picture nominee back in 2018, it was the year Get Out, Lady Bird, Dunkirk, The Shape of Water (which won), Spielberg’s The Post and Three Billboards (which came very close) were also, and Gary finally won, I was also not thinking of not getting it, but I wrote a comment on my old account about Gary’s win and I’m surprised actually liked what I had to say. Why? Awesome pick ups. What film of Sandy’s did you end on?
We watched Speed, and that’s when it turned into a Keanu marathon 😂. Georgia has done well for themselves in terms of movies and Tv. Walking dead was mostly filmed there too.
@@PureHangout Can you believe Speed won two of its nomination, and then Keanu lucks out with The Matrix winning 4/4? Yeah, mostly the Atlanta area. I have been writing about the films filmed there. Some Best Picture winners/nominees, superhero movies, etc.
I don't know how you feel about Woody Allen, but you passed over one of his best serious films: Match Point, with Scarlett Johanssen. Brilliant film. Go back to the store tomorrow and buy it. Actually, don't wait until tomorrow. Jump in the car and do it now. Why do you collect films about the British Monarchy? Do you have royal blood in your veins? Or do you just aspire to be an absolute monarch and live in a castle? We all have goals...
I’m not a fan of Match Point. Well, I wouldn’t say I don’t like it, it’s more when I realized that I prefer Woody Allen comedies. I just find the royals pretty interesting. It started when I first saw Elizabeth 1998. Sorta been fascinated ever since. I need to find “The Madness of King George” to add to my collection
Good haul at a great price.......weird seeing those boxed sets locked up behind the glass.
Yeah, especially with some of them not being that expensive
A lot of very interesting pick ups 🍻
I’m ready to head back for more!
Nice haul! I'd love to visit one of those stores, but none in my area.
I feel pretty lucky to have it. Hope one enters your area someday! Or if you hit up central Illinois, we can meet up at mine!
I enjoyed Darkest Hour. No idea about the other movies.

I was interested in The Company, The Kids Are All Right, Apocalypse Now, Capote, and House of Psychotic Women. I was browsing along with you.
I’ve seen most of those, except for The Company and House of Psychotic Women.
Oh man I've always wanted to see Murder By Numbers and I always forget about it. Great video man!
It’ll be a nice rewatch!

I just watched dragon slayer a few months ago for the first time. I liked it. Put it in to late and still need to see how it ends. Lol.
😂, I know what you mean. I used to never fall asleep during movies, but I do all the time now lol.
Not for $50 it’s cheaper at Barnes and nobles. $35. It’s a good old school fantasy movie.
Price definitely seemed steep!
@@PureHangout for sure, why I haven’t picked it up yet. I have the dvd.
idk about Caligula man - isn’t it basically like a thinly veiled p*rn film?? haha but love the pickups vids, always fun to follow!
Haha, that does sound right about Caligula. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard that 😆.
