You guys are running some nice equipment. Runaway trains on the other hand is scary. Keep up the good work because you guys club layout is sweeeeeeeet.
I had a weird occurrence on my Nscale layout with an Empire Builder... It turned out that there were two throttles on the same loco address in the command station, and it would jump between the settings of the two throttles (one was with a JMRI/Locobuffer) purged the loco address from the command station, and all was good.
At the American Railroad Model Convention, a derailment accident occurred between operating freight trains. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism today requested model railway operators all over the country to inspect vehicles and check rails.
😄😄😄😃 I'm sorry i couldn't help that one! The subtitles through out the video is so hilarious. Whoa what a mechanical failure for all to see! At the end I couldn't control myself! This one for the blooper reels.. Don't worry it happened to a railroad friend of mine several years ago. He invited a model railroad client & a demonstration in his home, he worked in a hobby shop he built layouts & scenery. I saw his layout prior and it was always smooth sailing.. He called me by phone and he told me in his words: "All the trains derailed"! Oh no i said! Otherwise I love the rolling stock especially The Tropicana new Refrigeratorated cars.. I've been trying to get them since advertised. Otherwise a nicely set-up at the show.. I picked up on this not the pile up derailment but the engines strange speed & slowdowns (?) I give this video an A. Not funny to the operators that day. You got me good with this! The buildings superb details wonderful. The humer and subtitles 100%. I loved this video regardless. Good job.... PS if you think that your train operation didn't fly don't worry Look at you tube with Norfolk Southern Dragon train heading on the Horseshoe curve... CSX had a similar scenerio as well on another video also another dragon train..😃 Happy Railroading!
I don't have wireless but on my DCS51 sometimes it goes haywire and I have to set it back to factory settings. I never have figured out why. Cheers, Dan
New favorite model railroading term, "0-5-0". Had to do that this evening putting away a passenger train and found out that the club's layout didn't have a run around at the station tracks. Also I put the GG1 that pulls the train backwards don't tell anyone.
If anyone knows the NYSME layout, it has a lot of tunnels. One day at the end of a meeting, I was stopped at a signal waiting for another train when out of know where my train jumps up! The back end of my train was right under the key stone, so I went under the layout, and a Rio Grande engine had hit the back of my train. Long story short, it is hard to get in between those wood panels lol.
i am noticing the old problem of power loss on these modular model railroads that happens between the scenery connections. when the sections are connected and the different blocks. when one block end the train or locomotive has to regain power on the next block, commonly the next train board.
It's a nice looking model but you might want to get the infrasture and PW teams to look at the bridge at 01:36, those central bearings on the slope are under huge strain.
I didn't make it through all the comments, but the most common reason for this is because of advanced consisting. You've got consist 77 built for your 2 engines, forget their numbers since it doesn't matter. Now, some other layout nearby using the same system you are makes a consist 77. Guess what happens if you both have wireless and your throttles are talking to both systems? Right, commands sent to one consist affect the _other one as well_ because they have the same consist number. EDIT: Forgot to mention that I've seen this happen with wireless NCE systems at shows. It wasn't pretty.
That's why I left the hobby in the 90s. I could buy Athearn engines for $25 and Athearn and Roundhouse freight cars for $4 all day long. The Stewart and Kato came along with their $100 engines and I walked away.
Now those Stewart & Katos are a super buy & the Proto 2000 E units love em. at anywhere between $25 & $40 or $50. Miss those days of train shows especially now thanks for the videos
When I was running with an O gauge modular group, I could always tell where we were by the billows of smoke. Not much ozone as most of the engines were "modern" rather than post-war.
BB711, John maybe on to something. The more wireless signals you have in one place, the greater the chances of frequency interference (also known as signal bleed). Hope that it does not happen again, don't want to see your models ruined. D. Muse WTCMRR
My club ALWAYS has power issue. Doesn't matter where we set up and in what order we set up, there's ginna be issues. As for controls, what were the clubs around you using? When we run at the Great Scale Model Train Show in Maryland, there a handful of other clubs running NCE, which apperently likes to cancel out Digitrax signals. Something to think about.
I like those Gevo's! Are you running Digitrax Duplex?? From running layouts with it, it definately has issues. Their simplex wireless though worked flawlessly for me so I'm sticking with that for now!
They're pretty easy to get all you need to do is some shopping on eBay for used model trains or go to train shows and you can buy some used model trains
Serious question, as I do not know answer... How many cars can be pulled by one HO locamotive? I was surprised by the length of these trains. Yes, the cars are light, but it's amazing how long the train closest to the camera was....
Looking for videos of people building layouts like this. They way they get them together. I am thinking that maybe if I do a layout, doing it by sections like this and that way if I move in the future it can go with me.
I really love scale model railroads. The only thing that I don't understand is the fact that people put so much time in to the realism of the layout landscape, sounds, etc. But watching all modern cars roll by with no graffiti just baffles me. I'm confused on this, am I missing something?
I mean, just putting graffiti decals on otherwise new car just doesnt look quite right... and then 1 weathered car in a train of otherwise new cars doesnt look quite right... the hobby is always some kind of imbalance
I miss the Tropicana Juice train. WHY DA HECK DID CSX LET HARRISON BONEHEAD IN?! He ruined my fun! But nevertheless I will add my own Tropicana Juice Train.
Nothing but, nothing embarasses me more then my train having a derailment during a public show since I pride myself on my engines and cars giving me 100% trouble free operation a lofty goal that is attainable. My face actually turns red from embarrassment if something goes wrong..
you know what these need? little actuators under some parts of the rail that sync up with a drum percussion sound effect: dudun dudun____ dudun dudun____
How come nobody runs passenger trains , on layouts or at convention there is a glut of freight , no improvements with Amtrak i.e. soundtraxx WHYYYYYYY LMAO !!!
Probably because coaches are expensive. Most of mine are old IHC models, so I got them cheap...but modern coaches can easily run you 70~80 dollars. A freight car ususally won't be higher than 40 dollars. Besides, passenger is very niche in a lot of things. They have engines dedicated ti passenger service. While modern freight engines can do anything, they just don't look right at the head if a passenger train.
I have some passenger stock, but when I bring our modular layout to a show or Meetup, I run frieght with my diesels, and two passenger excursion trains with a Mikado, Berkshire or Northern. It just depends on what we all agree on, so we sometimes do it realistically, where all frieghts wait for the excursion, or very unrealistically, because it's more fun to watch. But we always have one rule, don't EVER go above step 80.
Oh shoot. We have a derailment. I say again we have a derailment. 911: 911 what's your emergency? Caller: TWO TRAINS JUST DERAILED. I THINK THE CREW IS HURT! 911: OK calm down. Can you tell me the locomotives railroad? Caller: The train tipped over on its left. I can't climb up to look because the engines on fire. 911: Is there another locomotive on any of the freight trains? Caller: Yeah but they're all on fire and I think they're going to explode. Please send help! 911: OK what's your location? Caller: I don't know. A train car fell on my legs and I can't get up. My legs are bleeding and I think they might be broken. 911: OK can you tell me the locomotives color? Caller: Any locomotive or all? 911: Any. Caller: The first one is red and silver, the second is red and yellow, the third is green and silver, the fourth one is blue and silver, and the fifth one is yellow and blue. And they all have the SF on them. 911: OK I know where you are. I'm sending help right now. Police: What the hell? Caller: help me! Police: You're kidding right? Caller: no. Police: OK I think you're confused. These are just model trains. Not real ones. ( laughing ) OK look if this happens with a real train then you call the police. These things only hurt when you use them improperly. Caller: Ok. ( laughing ) I thought this counted as an emergency. So I thought help was the appropriate thing I needed. Police: No. These may be heavy, but they don't bite unless you use them improperly. If it's a real train incident then get help. But if it's this then you can walk away from it. Caller: Alright thanks. I'll try to make sure it's a real train incident. And not a toy train derailment. Alright see ya next time... Damn I really need to start remembering that a real train is bigger than this.
wireless interference from cell phones and other remotes Ok so who is willing to start screaming "CONDUCTOR WE HAVE A PROBLEM" when a train derails there?

Very famous last words
“Hope it stays on the track!”
Those railcars that derailed: *”Yeahhhhh... no.”*

I'm impressed with the depth of detail
3:21 instant train stops happen a lot at my local train show.
An excellent video. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.
Nice layout. Is that the Orange County Convention Center? I went there for a different show in 1999, (APTA (MAss Transit) Convention), looks familiar

Great lay out, love watching them trains go long those tracks. Very cool video.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!

It's prices have sky rocketed. But they're still bargins at shows or maybe on line..
Question the Tropicana building where can i get one is it available or kitbashed or scratchbuilt ?
@@haroldalexis4200 Scratchbuilt, with some kitbashing I think. The silos are old bottles of something, I forget what.
I don't have wireless but on my DCS51 sometimes it goes haywire and I have to set it back to factory settings. I never have figured out why. Cheers, Dan

JUST AWESOME AND BEAUTIFUL CARS AND LOCOMOTIVES

Liked the realism in this video. Gave me some Ideas . . . Thanks .

I love h.o. scale but it can be a expensive hobby
That's why I left the hobby in the 90s. I could buy Athearn engines for $25 and Athearn and Roundhouse freight cars for $4 all day long. The Stewart and Kato came along with their $100 engines and I walked away.
Any hobby can get expensive... Anything can get expensive, refer to oil and gasoline prices from 1970-present day.
Lol yeah. I just spent $100 buying a couple hopper cars for my layout.
But Lionel trains have been around since the 70s right?
Now those Stewart & Katos are a super buy & the Proto 2000 E units love em. at anywhere between $25 & $40 or $50. Miss those days of train shows especially now thanks for the videos
Have you ever wanted to just connect them all and just run them around the layout and awesome video
I live in Miami so I go to the harvest fest and watch them
What's that smell? Properly, either smoke pellets or ozone from an open frame AC motor.
lol
When I was running with an O gauge modular group, I could always tell where we were by the billows of smoke. Not much ozone as most of the engines were "modern" rather than post-war.
I always get a laugh out of the wrecks. It happens to all of us at some point or another an most folks tr to hide it. It's part of the hobby.

The tracks need to be farther apart on curves. Learned that from John Armstrongs great book.
They may, but here they have not posed a problem.
Which manufacturers makes that Hi-Cube Tropicana Reefers? I love them!!! I got just similar Atlas/BLMA UP ARMN Reefers.
They're BLMA Tropicana Reefers.
Nice now I really want a model train XD
They're pretty easy to get all you need to do is some shopping on eBay for used model trains or go to train shows and you can buy some used model trains
I have a couple but, they are really old
Serious question, as I do not know answer... How many cars can be pulled by one HO locamotive? I was surprised by the length of these trains. Yes, the cars are light, but it's amazing how long the train closest to the camera was....
It depends on the weight and power of the engine as well as the weight of the cars. Just like the real thing.
Who is going to the great train show in Minnesota?
Looking for videos of people building layouts like this. They way they get them together. I am thinking that maybe if I do a layout, doing it by sections like this and that way if I move in the future it can go with me.
This is a modular system where club members build a few modules and set them up together at public shows.
I think that long trains have a lot of class. They do not have that class unless there is a caboose on the end of that train.
I enjoy your videos very nice layout. Trains are cool.
Great layout and cool cars. Now a question, am I the only one who now needs to use the restroom?
James Purcell no
Ya had a good run going. Tropicana should've been proud. Sorry things turned rough for you guys. Good layout though.
the logo is a GWR 14xx
Now I want some orange juice 🍊
Very cool video and camera work too. Take care now.
That looks real!

Thanks for sharing.
The Hand of God is what we call it.
where in Orlando is this at, and are the model trains there every year?
Hope it stays on the track 😮off the 🚂🚂
HO IS MY PARTICULAR FAVORITE SCALE NOT TOO LARGE AND DETAILED FOR MY OPERATION 😷👌👍👍👍📸
I'll stick to good old fashioned DC, thank you very much
Same here. Mainly because my favorite locos are DC, but I have some DCC, mainly my steam locomotives.
Wow that was a long train!
bighornmt counted 50 cars
Realistic derailment! Niceee... :D
Perfeito , 👍👍👍👍👍
Belo Trem obrigado!!
Great video like always
You’re killing me smalls
I went there for my birthday and i was looking for me in the backround
Trainmaster to 202 head end, over.

5:01 WARNING: This video contains miles of freightcars ... But I think whoever that was likes passenger trains a little more LOL :o)
What kind of train was that
What one?
I none of that Tropicana orange juice was wasted. 😆
Bro please tell me this train price please i buy this train please
Maybe it's a wiring problem. That's my best guess.
IDK if wiring would cause an engine to catapult but fair guess. The going accusation is all the other layouts running in Digitrax interfering with us.
