As someone that lives in japan and been here 8 years. Prices from shop to shop depend. It gets to a point where I can make money buying from one shop and selling to another. Not even needing to sell overseas. MTG, Pokemon, retro games all the same. The thing is tho you never want to shop at famous shops or tourist areas and I always say just stay away from Tokyo . if you do that you find stuff dirt cheap a example of this was I went to a shop and they had a giant box of JP FBB 4th ed all pack fresh and they only wanted 30 yen per card lol. I went wild. If you know where to go, stuff is very cheap here, especially if you are buying with dollars. the exchange rate right now is amazing!
@@Tt-tt9my If you don't shop in Tokyo and stay out of tourist areas or well known shops etc like I mentioned that is a good start. Just search around and you will find Them. Also, the exchange rate is still not bad , so you still get a discount compared to what stuff cost in the US etc.
These Magic streams have been so much fun live! It’s always cool seeing the highlight videos but there’s always so much funny shit during these streams that a lot has to get cut out to make these into highlight videos. Ryan doing a great job putting the highlight videos together though!
Contamination! Back in the day you had Arena tournaments that lasted like a few weeks or so where you need to play ppl from your store. I was a teenager playing a dentist that had moxes. I had like 2 darkrituals, contamination, a reanimate card, and I either discarted and reanimated a verdant force, or I put in in GY from deck and reanimated it... And I played CONTAMINATION!!!! He took his turn, gave it a good thought (if he could fix it with just artifact mana), and surrendered with his too sick sneakattack deck :D my sickest most lucky game ever. First turn surrender :P
time spiral is my second favorite card, next to dragon storm. You can combo a bunch of 1 cost spells to stack your storm counter, and then time spiral to reset your mana and discard pile, and then tutor into any storm card and watch ur pod roll their eyes.
Those lands you said you didn't know what they were from @3:58 look like the euro lands or something, can't think of the name, but they were paintings of real life locations around the world. I've got some in my promo stuff. They were black border with no symbol around that time frame, they were worth a decent bit for the famous ones like the white cliffs of Dover, and recognizable ones. That one is Lowlands, Netherlands, it says by the artist and year where they are from. And why the hell is Tolarian Academy not on the hit list?!
When I was in Japan Christmas of 2022/2023, I quickly learned that most Commander staple cards are ridiculously cheap. I only paid normal price for my Mana Crypt, but my Esper Sentinel was $8, C rift was $12, Serra Sanctum (Before price drop) was $220. I grabbed up damn near my entire cEDH deck for half the price or more. My girlfriend is Japanese, and her co worker plays Magic. I asked him why Commander cards were so expensive, he said Commander isn't that popular in Japan.
I literally opened at least a couple of these back in 98/99... It was when I was very new to magic. I also had a gaea's cradle that I had in every green deck back then and would rifle shuffle it with no card sleeves... ahhh good times.....
Maaaaan! So friggin mad! Been going to the website to get into a break, and as i check its already sold out. Fml. I wanna buy in! Take my friggin money!!!!!
Heads up wubby, when you do this again you can use google translate to translate the cards in real time on your phone. I noticed nobody said anything about it and figured I would :)
interestingly enough, I think the low prices on some of those cards are lower because I heard commander Is less played in japan, so commander staple cards are less expensive
I'm in Tokyo for the next 5 days and then Osaka. Anyone have recommendations for where/what I should buy while here? English pref but don't mind some Japanese cards. Commander is my format
Really enjoyed this one live. I’m not into magic, but Alluux was right because I am extra interested seeing cards from another country. PS. Michael Jordan hates magic
Pretty sure that’s one of the Gamersupps mats, which you can find on their website, and they seem to put new ones out somewhat regularly. I could be totally wrong though, just going off what Wubby talks about on stream.
Japan's commander staples are not in demand cause majority of them dont play commanders but just the standard 60 format, hence the cheaper price in comparison
I just bought in for the first time last month, got the 5 commander starter sets for ~$65. Draconic Destruction did work against my veteran MTG friends, and it's mechanics are pretty easy to grasp. Highly recommend to start.
If you were going to buy a japanese language yuriko, you should have bought the asain pacific league year of the tiger promo version, by far the best yuriko in my opinion.
Hey Wubby, I love you videos and was wondering if you would be interested in falling into the hole that I have fallen into. You love Alters so much, but would you be any interested in artist Proofs? I recently purchased one for Gishath Sun’s Avatar because hes my personal favorite, but art from the artist themself seems so special to me
Still salt i did not get a NM cradle for 40$ years ago. One guy ruined playing for the group so i never upgraded that first Ghave EDH precon (this guy spent 300$ to build a deck that just won in 4 turns against the precons)
Keep your eyes peeled for that Alpha Starter Deck buy in soon!
I have 3 unopened boxes of Urzas Saga and 1 of Legacy sitting in an attic for the past 20ish years. This makes me think I should sell them
Yooo grats on finding one and hope it is real :T can't wait to see if you guys do a fallout deck playnight! The decks are pretty good power!
Awesome! Also Google has a Real Time Translator!
@@RG-gn8pe Do it. Do it do it. Haha😂😢😊😮
they are peeled from the start :)

The lands are from the Asia Pacific Land Program which were basically buy-a-box promos for Tempest.
Mulligan's & Magic Monday Sleeves would go so hard
And the mox diamond copypasta would go insanely hard.
Sweet Editing Ryan! Have an Amazing Day!
M's eating diamonds with theeth turning the diamonds into a grill in rt.
Thank you! Hope you are having a nice day also too and as well
Magic is popular in Japan, but they don't have as big of a Commander scene so a lot of the high end staples are much lower locally than in the US

Love Magic Mondays! You got me into magic Wubby and im loving it! Just opened a Phyrexia box loved it!
Let me know when your wife, house and daughter are gone! Cuz that's the FUN part! 😅
You won those cards!!! I was auctioning too. I love Atlas Alters, he should become an official MTG artist. His works are amazing.
Magic Monday playmats would go crazy
Magic on a Monday!
The Urza's block for suuuure has the best art. Reminds me of being a kid ripping the packs.

The lands a part of them are eurolands that were sent to players as gifts
Shout out to Big Al for convincing our boy to splurge on cardboard for our viewing pleasure
“you put that Timetwister in my fucking casket” 😂😂
That nuke's top 5 "Did you see it?" caught me so off guard
I love how someone is playing with the wings on the hat
I love the i'm gonna be transparent edit
As someone who used to do alters for a living, its good to see the representation
At least no dark hatchling! When the set came out I had piles of those doom birds.
Nice haul. Love those APAC lands. That Taiwan swamp is 🔥🔥🔥
Wow. Underrated. 10/10 regardless of language
13:04 who else went and listened to it 😂
"Make Ghyrson your friends will love you" I did, and they do. Especially when I hit the table for 54 on turn 5.

I've got a Saga Chinese booster box sealed to move off if interested for one of your breaks.

would buy Magic Monday and/or Mulligan's Merch for sure (as long as its the right size)

Magic Monday baby
I'm interested in a link or some resource for that playmat!
Google "Sinder gamersups mouse pad". Should be first result

The google translate tts’ were killing me 🤣 chat too good
Does anyone know if google has a real-time translator? Asking for a ”friend”. 👀😂
That Time Twister is poggers
Hey I’m going to be in Japan soon and I’m a Pokémon card collector - what’s a good place in Tokyo to buy packs to open and not get ripped off/scammed?
From my understanding EDH isn’t popular in Japan, so a lot of cards that have high value due to EDH are a bit chronically there.
hey wubby, I would most definitely buy Father wubby sleeves for a mono white deck
How do you get pick for a card is it random me and my son love magic trying to get are collection back
Japan's commander staples are not in demand cause majority of them dont play commanders but just the standard 60 format, hence the cheaper price in comparison
But Wubby, the reason these cards are so much cheaper is BECAUSE Google has a real time translator using the camera on your phone.
PMW sleeves would go crazy, i have a vision
This stream was awesome
What set should I buy to get into magic?
I just bought in for the first time last month, got the 5 commander starter sets for ~$65. Draconic Destruction did work against my veteran MTG friends, and it's mechanics are pretty easy to grasp. Highly recommend to start.
wubby what server you play ark on man?
Im reaaaady for this shit! Now new Commander ep 🎉🎉🎉
If you were going to buy a japanese language yuriko, you should have bought the asain pacific league year of the tiger promo version, by far the best yuriko in my opinion.
Do you play cedh or vintage cube though? If not you don’t need 3 mox diamonds
Are you telling a man with an infinite money machine what he doesn't need ?
3:17 Who is the artist ?
yo wubby how TF does Amalia benavides work? ty :)
I visited Hong Kong 5 years ago, got 3 Mox Diamonds for $30ea.
I live in Japan and slept on the chance to buy a gilded drake at a 2nd hand store. I really regret not buying it
Any time you can get Alpha power under market you are doing good
how much do we need to crowdfund to buy out every slot in the Alpha deck and make wubby rifle shuffle it unsleeved
subbed for the dracula flow reference.. I don't need to know more about this channel
the sleeves can just have your logo on the back shit would be hard, or a playmat
APAC lands. Some of the best looking ones in the game
Such beautiful lands, I said "wow" such beautiful lands
this is funny man wtf, huge content here. il stay
12:37 wubby gets ginger grease all over his hand and then proceeds to man handle the cards non nonchalantly
Usd to open Saga. Not so easy to get Craddle
Excited for next commander game
The card prices in Japan werde likely low if you convert it into USD because the Japanese Yen tanked in the last 3 years.

Oké this was funny as hell
Anyone got a link to that playmat?
Wubby sleeves would be sick tho ngl
Old video, but in regards to Magic Monday Merch you should make sleeves with an image of your face finding out your starter decks are fake
13th wubby video. Woo
APAC / Euro lands… there are different sets. (Blue, Clear Red…)
The Red Hot Chili Peppers request via TTS got me by surprise 💀💀
Your chat is fucking hilarious 😂
A bit surprised you didnt immediately recognize duress in there.
Bro i picked up a collection from a guy i knew for 800 and he had 7 badlands, 4 underground seas and 2 mox diamonds. as well as a few other things
Nice haul!
Chat couldn't have been clearer, you should've scrapped the naming them idea from the start ❤
The beginning is giving me vaush vibes
I be like that Playmat where did you get it
Alpha starter is fucking crazy dude im hyped
These look like cool ass good ass good yugioh cards
I have always wanted a Gaea's cradle, just i am too poor for it
There's at least the Ixalan Cradle, which is superior in several ways. It has to transform first, but it usually does the same turn it's cast.
i think i threw away a yawgmoth's will when i cleared my collection back in the days
Make a running tally of winners in your commander games. Winner gets to design sleeves for merch!
