I have two new Hartford videos from my recent trip coming up, I-84 East turned out really nice and I have not started to work with the other footage I have yet.
The sections of I-84 that are shown were some of the most dangerous that I ever drove until it was all completely redesigned in the 80s. The old road, the Wilbur Cross Highway (CT 15), was designed in the 40s to carry car traffic only on two lanes each way. Later a third lane was added by eliminating the shoulders and reducing the median strip to just enough to accomodate a guard rail. It was then designated as I-86. Once the realignment was completed, it was redesignated as I-84.
How old is that photo of I-91 at 0:07? Based on aerial photos I saw, the now-removed Exit 30 on northbound 91 went on the Founders Bridge, CT Route 2 east, but I guess the signage looks almost correct since the ramp ended up where the I-84 East exit was.
the idea is good but some time is to fast ! why no slow dawn when come close to signs ? we can found realy were we are, otherwise can be anywere en any city in USA...thing !
Traffic from boston to NY.city and points south should take I-95 from I-93 all the way to NY city to avoid mass pike tolls traffic should only use I-84 for Hartford, Northern CT arias, Uper state NY, Pts west
That was the Connecticut River, runs right through the city.

I believe it's CT-2 Westbound. There's no North/South on CT-2.

It's from the cover of a Hartford Road Atlas, mid 1990's I think
I wish the roads were that smooth in NYC.
Reminds me of the 80s or 90s.
