It's also funny that when they did Scream 4, they were divorced then. So they intentionally wrote the strain in their marriage for 'Scream 4'. I'm curious if the characters will be married in 'Scream 5' since the last film hinted at a little romance between Dewey and Sid.
Also...there is no way anyone will ever change my mind. Stu was so in love with Billy. And Billy would totally use him late at night and then say it’s not gay since he kept his shirt on and then he would go flirt with girls to keep a reputation.

Fear Street 1994 pulled a similar move with Maya Hawke as this franchise did with Drew Barrymore, by having the most recognisable actor be killed early in the game to up the stakes of "Anyone can die!"
That part of fear street is less of a “similar move” it’s a Direct homage to the opening scene in scream

The thing about Rose McGowan character being killed is she brings such charisma to the character and makes you like her so when she actually dies you don't want her too, you want her to escape. Like Sarah Michelle Gellar in I know what you did last summer. You want that character too live to the sequel. But they don't. And that makes their death impactful. It's called good writing and great casting.

Scream is such an amazing franchise my favorite and Sidney is the main star such an iconic powerful female character. She gets more badass with each movie and the poor thing never ends up being happy cause of these crazy killers and honestly I would’ve loved it if u did a commentary on this franchise blind just to see who u would’ve guessed as the killers for each movie
No disrespect to Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode. She's battled Michael six times going on seven in three different timelines in that franchise. Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott has battled seven going on eight possibly nine different Ghostface killers in five films. I feel personally that Sid is the stronger final girl. She's killed five out of the seven killers so far in the movies.
Sidney is THE best final girl. Laurie is a close second, but Sidney will always be the Queen. I just don’t know how I am going to make myself care after the new Scream comes out and she is done. Scream without Sidney isn’t Scream. She IS Scream! I just hope they give her a lot of screen time and an amazing story in this new film, because I will be heartbroken if her end to the franchise isn’t as amazing as she deserves.

YES!!!!! This movie is very Meta! The opening scene was on Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments. When the audience saw the opening, they thought Drew Barrymore was going to be the hero. Well they were in for a big surprise! The film was released December 13th 1996, making $173 million dollars at the box office.
Precisely, Drew was the biggest name in the cast, and by axing her off early on, it ensured that the stakes were higher!

I watched the first Scream just yesterday, for the first time and I absolutely loved it, so I'm actually excited to watch all the other ones 💞
It’s one of the very rare franchises where the sequels are all amazing! (Some ppl didn’t like Scream 3, but I always remind ppl that it started filming right after the Columbine school shooting, so the studio made them change a LOT because at the time the country was blaming movies and music and video games for violence.)
