I turned 16 the day this episode first aired.. My last career was trucking before I retired.. I worked in the oilfield for a couple of years too. That rigsite in the episode was a OSHA nightmare. Smoking on the rigsite, climbing the derrick without a line and harness (2 people). Still enjoyed it when the people were somewhat normal, except the costume party..lol
Wow! At least Will waited for some fall protection in this episode, Sonny just go go go. Or maybe that wasn’t fall protection as much as to help get the guy down.
Thankfully, we can still see this! They took away my CANNON, then they took away Barnaby Jones, ans Simon and Simon! Bonanza is still on YT,and Rip-Tide.
I buy all my shows on dvds. No way do I trust netflix etc to keep these classics. Working on tv westerns now. Which will soon be banned due to content!!!
I'm not sure, I tried looking it up and did find this site www.idahogeology.org/geologic-resources/idaho-oil-and-gas but the interactive map has a ton of oil sites :( I did find a PDF that said there were a few in the Hamilton Corner, ID area. I might see if my American Truck Sim has some references in the area, if I can get there :)
It was not a real oil rig. This was a geo-thermal rig which was once set up in Mountain Home Idaho.I'm associated with the creator/executive producer of Movin'On.
@@billbazen9432 Wow thank you for that information! Thats pretty cool. I was driving around in American Truck Simulator and thought I might have saw something outside of Boise on i84, I'll have to post a screenshot later. So many people still love that show! Such a special program and team with Claude Akins and Frank Converse. Great stories and adventures. How lucky you are to have been associated with such a great program!

I was just a kid living in just outside Boise in Meriden when this was filmed there.

Never watched an episode where Sonny doesn’t get his hands on the ladies at some point.
Ya I guess that’s what he looked forward to after being on the road so much. Not quite as bad as Captain Kirk in Star Trek though
