      On what merit? 28 goals conceded in 35 matches is very poor - including 6 goals in 2 games against a chronic tribute Hun side. What’s he ‘really’ done apart from a world class save from Baumgartner’s volley in the Leipzig game and the double save last week against YB? He’s not a patch on Boruc and Forster - who both played against and kept out a ‘real’ Rangers team when the Scottish game wasn’t a one-horse canter.

    I do agree with Lawerence on not really caring about a player when they leave. My focus is on who we have here and now.
    There’s been 1 or 2 exceptions of course. Players you have a soft spot for.
    King Henrick being the main one and also big Moussa.
    I will say though, I do like the Japanese culture and have a soft spot for Kyogo so maybe he’ll join that list. The wee guy was so likeable. I wish he was going to Germany or England to give him the best chance of getting a game for Japan.

    I get where Lawrence is coming from, if we went into the knockout games coming up in the UCL and you have a choice of Celtic Robbie Keane, Celtic Craig Bellamy or Celtic Kyogo it’s a tough one but Kyogo is potentially last choice. But outside of that there’s no argument when you factor in Kyogo’s longevity and the trophies he won.

    Kyogo could score technically better goals than Leigh gritthis,look at the goals KYOGO scored v rangers from outside the box. But Leigh would miss less easy chances than kyogo. Leigh much better in the air wouldn't be hard though. Bottom line is you would want whoever is in there prime and on form.

  • @jamielatimer5547
    @jamielatimer5547 8 дней назад +1

    Kyogo has been a better servant to Celtic than Keane or Bellamy but I have to agree with Laurence, both of them were better players than the wee man even if you are just taking there time at Celtic in isolation. If any of them had stayed longer I don’t think that would be an argument.

    • @leannecampbell4551
      @leannecampbell4551 8 дней назад +1

      Taking their time at Celtic in isolation as a means of comparison Kyogo?? 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ Aye right enough, because Keane’s contribution was so profound, he left trophy-less and did nothing against Rangers. Bellamy left with a mere Scottish Cup!
      Kyogo done more in his bloody sleep compared to those two journeymen!

    • @jamielatimer5547
      @jamielatimer5547 8 дней назад

      🤦‍♂️ Dont know why I bother with you but here goes. I love Kyogo more than those 2 put together, he wasn’t just a great player but a great person and wonderful ambassador for our club. If a trophy count is the only measure you have for a player then you don’t have a great argument. Do you think if we had the versions of those 2 players playing with us for the last 3.5 years there trophy count would be so poor? Do you think if we had Kyogo back then when we were battling out tax payer funded foes for 6 months his trophy count would be as prolific? Cal Mac has many more trophies than Paul McStay does that make him a better player?

    • @leannecampbell4551
      @leannecampbell4551 8 дней назад

      @@jamielatimer5547 Rather bizarre and futile thing to say! 😅 Why wouldn't you bother responding - what makes me the exception? Isn't engagaing in debate one of the central points of the comments section?
      Had both Bellamy and Keane been playing in this era, then of course, they would have left highly decorated in domestic honours.
      Would Kyogo have been just as prolific during the 2004/05 season? Considering the quality of our supply line back then (Agathe, McNamara, Petrov, Thompson, McGeady), there is absolutely no doubt, imo. The same can't exactly be said for the 2009/10 team.
      I'm not talking directly about the honours Kyogo achieved - but those were only possible largely due to how well he played for us. My initial response was exclusively related to your observation which implied both Bellamy and Keane were better technical Footballers than Kyogo, during their respective periods in the Hoops - "both of them were better players than the wee man even if you are just taking there time at Celtic in isolation". Comparing them in isolation - I'm not sure how anyone could even remotely form that argument, provided Kyogo spent 3.5 seasons at Celtic compared with Keane's 4 month stint and Bellamy's 5 months, for starters. At what period of Kyogo's 3.5 seasons would we be comparing? On a per season basis, it still doesn’t really form a solid enough argument, but it’s still fairly evident to suggest Kyogo did more than both combined, with the exception of this season.
      Either way, in a Celtic shirt, Kyogo's all-round game as a highly versatile creative/shadow/pressing striker, vastly trumps Keane's 16 in 19 goal-poaching prowess, or Bellamy's auxiliary striker role - excellent pace, great dribbling/ball control and the ability to finish off both feet.

      It's comical. Maedas is the one we wouldn't want to loose for what he does for the team. Yet everyone can't wait to see jota on one side kuhn on the other. If it was KYOGO under ange then kyogo is more important than maeda if it's KYOGO since BR then you would keep maeda (on the wing) 😮 obviously it's great to have maeda kuhn and jota but do you start maeda and let him tite defences for a hour then take on jota ?
