    Great process. I'd be interested in seeing a volume comparison between a TIN comprised of as many points as your computer can handle and the simplified surface you made with breaklines.

    Gran vídeo, excelente herramienta...este procedimiento es de gran utilidad cuando medimos una mina de materiales dónde es clave dibujar breakslines para entender la morfología de la superficie de la mina para planeamiento minero. Está genial. Tengo una pregunta, Luego de tener los breakslines en formato de puntos, como se hace para que se conviertan en línea automáticamente? Muchas gracias

    How did you make it such a nice explorer view, im with v2.12.0 and there is no such function, mu cloud appears with cut lines.

    How are you controlling the camera in this.. Do you have joystick or something? So smooth and amazing?

      He's probably using a 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse. I use one in CloudCompare and InfraWorks myself and it works great. By the way I'm assuming you are Kpanther from Cee Three Dee. If so I've 'chatted' to you before on your website. Hope you are well.

    Hi, new to CC and this looks a great way to extract breaklines. I've tried to replicate what you did using a point cloud generated in Pix4D from a drone survey. However, my results when adjusting the display ranges are very different. The big difference in what I can see under properties compared to your options is that under Scalar Fields mine shows a count of 2 and the Active layer options I have are 'classification' and 'none'. I don't have the 'Dip (degrees) option shown in the video. Any advice would be appreciated! Many thanks.

      Try Edit > Scalar Fields > Gradient and choose No. Then change the Active to Dip (degrees) under Scalar Fields. Another Scalar Field worth exploring is Edit > Normal > Convert to Dip/Dip Direction SF

      @@stephenphillips4605 This does not gives me the DIP option in the ACTIVE. It gives me None, Classification and Gradient norms which is selected and show all the pcloud in blue... I Still can't play with the display range in SF display param.
      How the hell can we have breakline with point cloud to get a clean survey in C3D and eventually a 2D top planview for drainage plan and ground shots. 🤯🤯

    great video - seriously - this is mint!
    interesting to see that that you subsample to a grid - I have been using projection - rasterise, to be able to select the lowest point in a grid spacing - in an attempt to be comfortable that I have "ground" - under the grass etc - this is my cleaning process - I would appreciate your feedback ruclips.net/video/ImJcvnEHYsw/видео.html
    also - i am not aware of the steps to get to a decent smooth dip octree later that you have at 1:20... was the calculation run on the settings you had at 55 seconds? - when i try this i gt too noisy a field using the "auto" button to calculate the octree radius

      Hey Lee, I liked the way you dealt with the road surface and the ground separately. I've always been afraid of creating new points within a rasterized grid because like you've noticed the noise around vegetation is not the same as the noise on roadways. But I think I'll try your method next time. It would be nice if Pix4D did a better job classifying the vegetation, ground, and road surfaces for this step. But I guess for now we'll just have to do much of that classifying manually.

      I have also been using the noise filter in conjunction with the CSF filter. When I turn the maximum variance down to 0.01 feet or so it cleans up UAS point clouds pretty nicely.

I have since changed my CSF filter iterations to do a very small spacing like 0.1m with a sensetivity of say 0.3m... then progressively double both values until you get to 0.8m at 2.4m sensetivity... seems to give me a great result... albeit the first process at 0.1m is a big ask for the processing time
