Very great apple, eating one now. Can I use a seed from my apple to grow a tree in my own yard with my other apple varieties?

_Japanese growers would modify it to 2 years shelf-life at room temperature_

I just bought a cosmic crisp apple tree today sight unseen. I’ve never tasted it but I think it will be a great pollinator with my apple crisp.

Gooseberry Homestead where from? Did you order it? I've heard it was bred with good disease resistance. The apples are pretty good, nice quality and consistency with a somewhat mild but tart interesting flavor

Adron Lamb Do you think they taste better than Honeycrisp? Honeycrisp is my favorite. Hard to imagine an apple that tastes even better

lovesgibson I think they blow all other apples out of the water! I have added them to salads, cooked them in a Dutch Oven with chicken and beef, but I mostly eat them by themselves. On my next day off, I plan on making a Cosmic Crisp Apple Pie. Oh I can hardly wait!

Alpha0727 Sounds good. Haven’t seen them in any stores around me yet though

It was not a cosmic crisp. There are license agreement you need to sign to grow them. They also have a minimum order of 10,000 trees. You probably bought a kinder crisp

What are the most popular apple varieties grown in the USA?

Instead of giving people the apples trees, they destroy them @ 5:05 in the video. Monsters!

Older and less producing apple trees being replaced happens all the time. Further, those mature trees wouldn't transplant well.

Also, who cares. They’re red delicious trees. Rip them all up to make room for better apples.

My dad is a foreman for Washington Apple-CPC inc located in Mattawa, Washington. The process of rooting the trees with minimal damage would impossible and time consuming, Those roots are really emembed into the dirt. It took my dad two years of preparation. unrooting 60 acres of trees. Taking out the old irragation pvc pipes that were underground. using tractors to plow through the dirt. and many more steps. The best part was that company the company started H-2A immigrants work program. Last year we hired 100 immigrants from mexico. The company build two apartment complexs for them. They were nice. Most young men from age 18-30. It was there first time coming to usa. They were in a for culture shock. They never seen a paved road till they came here. Some of them were to nervouse to be in america. thay never dared to venture new places, but there were some i became good friends. Despite my dad telling me to not put these young men around weed or any sorta of trouble, i would take them out every day to party, we bought so much weed, casue its legal over here. I introduced them to some girls lol. I can tell we have good times, and memoires lol. cant wait for them to comeback again in 3 months and do it again

I found the bunch of apples I bought of this variety were way too difficult to bite into. Prefer the soft skin of Honeycrisp.

I found that out. too. What I did was cut it into slices, thereby keeping the crispness and flavor.

Just a Dad - you know the apples you buy at the store are months old, right? They are stored underwater then put in cold storage until they go to retail
