    I think putting it as close to the sub as possible would filter out any high frequency noise the signal picked up along the wire

    is it the same way to turn LPF all the way up on HU, if theres no off features, and set the xover on amplifier.....

    I got a 12" subwoofer that packs a punch, but I don't know where to set my lpf for most benefit. Head unit goes from 50-200hz
    Amp 40-240hz
    You got any recommendations

      Pick one, either will do fine. I'd pick the headunit cause you can see exactly where your at , not so much on most amps.
      But it's up to you
      Lpf 80hz on head unit or amp is the same thing but just pick one to set it on

      Read the manual for your subwoofer it usually says what to set your lpf my Deaf Bounce 10in Fight S suggests I put my lpf filter at 63-80hz and subsonic to -5hz of my port of my box. So if my subwoofer box port is tuned to 37hz I put my subsonic at 32hz

      Most sub amps have built in low pass filter.

    So what I do is set my x over freq all the way up and then set it on my head unit?

      You can do either as long as one of them is completely maxed out or "off". Personally the one with the most adjustability and better internal components(usually the amp) is the one to use.

      lol I use the amp crossover because the headunit can default to full frequency sometimes to due dead battery or car services requiring disconnecting battery terminals

    Would it be the same for subsonic/hp filter

      Sub sonic id set at 20-25 hz
      It's to protect your sub from trying to play too low

      subsonic should be tuned to your enclosures hz frequency to avoid damaging your sub

      yeah your definitely a noob at car audio cause you don’t do that quit giving wrong info out to others you set either the settings on the radio or if not the amp don’t set lpf on both your just fucking with the frequency

      No.. One or the other.. if you understand crossover slopes you would know why this is a bad idea. Headunit is easier/quicker to adjust, but amp controls give you more precision (assuming you have the tools to set em right)

      you DONT wanna use both because you’re adding together the roll-off db by using both 🤦‍♂️ if you educate yourself on how banding/octaves and crossover works then you’d know that. Before spreading wrong info on youtube comments do your homework

    Idk about LPF or HPF what does it do?

    • @ICT_Anton
      @ICT_Anton 7 месяцев назад

      LPF is the low pass filter for your subs... HPF is the high pass filter if you are running your mid and highs off the amp

      @@ICT_Antonwhat should the hpf be on a mids nd highs amp?

    • @_N4VE_
      @_N4VE_ 2 месяца назад

      @@EsePlebeJoseeif using the HU for HPF x-over, you do the opposite of LPF. So you turn your HPF all the way down, then use the HU HPF x-over.
