    With the handwrap method, you can use less rope by using one-two fingers instead of the whole hand.

    Not to mention, you can safely apply load in either direction, AND this knot will remain relatively easy to untie. Truly one of the most versatile knots.

    Nice job on this. This is my go-to loop for the block and tackle hitch. I personally do two right-hand overturns then jump the first line over the 2nd and the new 1st over and through all. It's essentially the same as the hand wrap method but allows you to make your loops off hand and whatever size you like.

  • @fallinginthed33p

    The hand wrap method is a lot easier. I also use it to shorten the cinch cord on bags.

    A way to make this knot using the hand wrap method but not use so much cord is to wrap it around 3 or even 2 fingers rather than the whole hand.

  • @barretharms655
    @barretharms655 Год назад

    You cannot repair a line by trying a knot in it because at best you have 1/2 the strength of the Rope. Then there is the issue of the slug in the Rope. If I saw a climb or do that I would free climb the rest of the way down. Because it would be safer than using the Rope. That makes you a liar. Good luck arguing that one because every certified climber will verify my statement.

    • @dennisbecraft1303
      @dennisbecraft1303 Год назад

      It's a repair if you had less than half the strength of the line before you isolated the weak spot and who says this repair should not be used for other than life-dependent purposes?
      Where do you find the more than 50% reduction in breaking strength of line in this particular knot? A quick search tells me it retains 53 - 70% .
