I can imagine you working on 20 plus years old equipment & having to tell a customer they need a new unit. Either they cannot afford it, or they think you are a miracle worker who can keep it going for a little while longer. Imagine having to go back to that customer who another part fails? Now you're the bad guy!
As someone who's starting his own businesses(auto repair, welding, and hvac) this is what I needed. Taking on more than I can handle is or should I say was a major concern of mine. This vid was extremely needed✊🏾
Small company. me and my dad. Dads been doing it over 30 years I've been around hvac since I was a kid finally went full time with my dad in 2017 love what I do but it's stressful at times dads getting older and recently retired from a full time boss over maintenance job 19 1/2 years he's been having health issues last few years. Im not sure if im ready to take over everything. kinda of getting burnt out at times that's why in 2020 i ran for my local road commissioner position and was elected extra stress on top of hvac work but when i go out and do work evenings and weekends it's kinda of peaceful phone doesn't get signal so its nice and quiet. Sorry for the long post but this video hit the spot for me thanks.
Man, the timing of all these videos that you have been putting out lately was much needed for me personally at this time of year. A lot of what you have explained in the past few videos about being a one-man band…hit home with me. So I really appreciate this content!!
Your beard is glorious.. I just don't understand how you can handle the heat.. Mine is too thick and feels like I have wool scarf on. lol.. I just can't do it in the summer

Every time
It's hard to say no sometimes when you know you should.

Hey, I am an HVAC tech that watches RUclips videos!!! he was talking about me for part of that video
After so many years in the trade, I still need to learn how to set boundaries
Im in business 4 years in Tucson,, i definitely understand the stress you are talking about!!
Thankfully I don't do much cooling work. I mostly do boilers so I only have one very busy season dealing with no heat calls
I like naps
I like the I’m going to go lay down for a bit option . Haha
Definitely words to live by! A one man Show is hard on that one man!
I always question why I do this in the summer it’s been 120+ in socal desert it’s rough out here for a tech
Loving the advice and the beard man, thanks!!
I’m at year ONE with 25 years experience. I get worried every time I have a slow day. ………they say it will come. Lol

You’re for sure right about that. Working outside it’s been 90+ degrees and you definitely noticed the extra heat.
@@HVACShopTalk That's why I don't hesitate.. When it starts getting hot-- I shave it off; and grow it back long again the next winter.
Just be you! 😁😁
👍
I don't care what you look like I just want the HVAC unit fixed now and not have to deal with the problem again.
It just hit me that AC is literally the middle of your name. Don't tell me that's just a coincidence.
Do not SHAVE !
I won’t, but I will get a haircut soon, maybe tomorrow
What are you doing know ? Do you still work in the field?
👍
