      That's unrealistic expectations, WVU has NEVER been that outside of a 10 year period in the 2000s. I've Been a DIEHARD WVU fan since I was 10 years old.
      Realistically we should be aiming for 8 wins a year and to challenge for 10-11 wins every 3 to 4 years. Whether you all want to admit it or not, we don't have the resources that alot of other programs have, and we're never going to. WVU is a GREAT program, but we're not an elite program.

Even if we lose in the playoffs the first game is still would be nice to make an appearance. West Virginia's never going to the alabama-georgia or Ohio State but it would be nice to make a run every 10 years. Even if we come up short.. I don't think that's asking for much.

      So what you said was, outside of the early to mid 2000's, WVU is not able to win 9 to 10 games a season? Well, had did they do it then?
      The leadership at WVU doesnt understand that the more you spend on football, the more you get back in revenue. Once Nick S went to AL and started his domination, the student population has almost doubled. Stadium is full, energy all over campus, basketball becomes better.
      We need leaders who understand this and buy into it, if not, we will always be a subpar program. There are plenty of deep pockets to help the program, its the BS from the Top that gets in the way.

    So let me get this straight… The guy that has helped launch Neal’s career and has ties to half the staff is defending Neal Brown and thinks he’s better than Jimbo ????? No way 😂😂😂 Been giving great content but this may be the most bias of a defense of Neal Brown I’ve seen since 2022 when Shane Lyons tried defending him.
    “Can’t compare the time periods”. Dana took a Big East team to the Big 12 WITH Texas and OU in the league and playing OSU, KSU, Iowa State, etc YEARLY and averaged 8 wins a year, ranked in the top 25 yearly, national relevance, multiple 1st round draft picks. Just one example, Pre Neal WVU was 5-2 vs Texas Tech with players like Pat Mahomes. Since Neal has arrived they are 1-4 vs Texas Tech and they’ve fired 2 coaches in that tenure.
    Now Neal has a schedule playing teams in conference play that was in conferences such as conference USA, the American, etc 2 years ago… is now a harder job with the schedule ?!? Give me a break😂😂 Country Roads trust is voted a top 25 collective. WVU is in top 20 in all time wins. It’s a top 20 trademarked brand/logo. You can spin it anyway you want. Neal Brown has under performed in his 6 YEARS at WVU. You could blame the previous AD for certain issues but he’s gone. The defense is dam near as bad as it was in 2022 and the bs reasoning was always “Shane Lyons fault. Couldn’t keep guys. Couldn’t go get guys”. Shane’s gone. You retained. You got your guys. The defense is atrocious. The same play not to lose mentality in 2021,2022 with play calling is the same in 2024. He peaked in 2023 playing a cake schedule. They played 3 teams in the regular season that finished the regular season above .500 and went 0-3 with an average loss margin of over 20 points. Thats horrible. And that 9 wins was playing 4 new G5 new comers and lost to one of them because they had the wrong personnel on the field.
    “Be Patient” ITS BEEN 6 YEARS 😂😂😂

    • @LockedOnWestVirginia
      @LockedOnWestVirginia  Месяц назад +1

      First off. You did the one thing he said you can't do. How can you compare a time period where you have 4 years to develop your players to now when 80 percent of the rosters flip each year? THATS what he meant by you can't compare them.
      Second, I brought Tony on to get his opinion, not debate him, and after 9 wins last year, we are 2-2 and undefeated in the big 12 for now. Until we are out of it, imo it's not fair to go all in on Neal yet or THIS YEAR. You heard the interview. I said he gets everything right but the on field portion, did I not? Tony said IN THE VERY BEGINNING it was important for everyone to know he was gonna be bias, and now you're calling it bias? haha See what i'm saying man? On the jimbo vs Neal thing Jimbo was amazing at FSU and LSU no doubt... But if you think what he did at TAMU is defensable with the money and rosters he had, i'll go on record now and say thats easily AS BAD as defending Neal.

    • @AustinJohnsonWV
      @AustinJohnsonWV Месяц назад +5

      @@LockedOnWestVirginia To your first point, this biggest excuse Neal had was retaining and not being able to keep players. He’s brought back 80%-90% of the offense from the “special 9 win team “ last year and laid an egg at home vs Penn State, couldn’t get a first down in the 4th quarter against Pitt to seal the game, and until the last 5 minutes against the 1-4 Kansas Jayhawks AT HOME, the offense was BAD. If you want to compare time frames now Rutgers, BYU, Louisville, Indiana, etc that are teams that this fan base would say WVU is “above” has figured it out before Neal has in this new era of college football.
      I’ll give him credit and it’s a valid point, he did say in the beginning he’d basically is bias. That’s fair. But Jimbos wins and National Championship and history… to say Neal can’t hold his jock strap should mean you lose most of your credibility. I get he “under performed” at A&M. He was one of the only coaches in the SEC to beat Bama. He played in a conference that’s won 90% of the National Championships in the last decade. Outside of Georgia and Alabama, every school has been a revolving door of coaches for “under performing” in the SEC. So i think it’s hard to pin A&M as an outlook of his entire career. He won more games in his first 4 years at A&M playing an SEC schedule than Neal has in 6 years at WVU.

    When he said he was going to be BIAS, he MEANT IT. He lost a lot of credibility when he said Jimbo couldn’t hold NB’s jock strap, not even at pure coaching. There’s a lot I did agree with but more I didn’t agree with. One was when he said if you win 6-7 at WVU, you’re a good coach and he repeated it at the end. That’s flat out disrespect. No, if you only win 7 then you’re just average at WVU considering our all time record is 783-538 that’s kinda equivalent to a 7-5 season. A good coach wins 8-9 at WVU. We have more of those than we do losing seasons and that’s a FACT. Then he said we should name a road after a coach that wins 10+. No, we’re not naming a road or street after Dana Holgorsen. If a HC goes undefeated, like Nehlen, then we’ll name a street after them. I think he wasn’t trying to be but I just felt like he was too disrespectful about WVU. 🔩 him

The comparison between Brown’s record and Fisher’s record in comical and it doesn’t matter how many of Brown’s buddies appear on this show. It not as though this show has established any credibility to be judging the abilities of football or basketball coaches. And to bring on clowns like Tony Franklin who would talk negatively about other coaches only hurts your program more. WVU would be extremely lucky to get an experienced coach like Jimbo Fisher, but he is going to be in high demand after this season and it is likely he will have offers from multiple schools including ones in the SEC. The only reason for someone like you to have a show about WVU next coach is because you don’t have a lot of confidence in the current coach either. If you are trying to destroy what little credibility you have Paul, then have more shows like this one.
