Hidden Hot Springs in West Iceland

- The Canyon Baths is located near Husafell in West Iceland. It features two natural hot pools heated by volcanic activity under the earth. From the pools, you can also cold plunge into the stream. Also known as Giljaböð it opened in 2019 so not a lot of people have been to this gorgeous location! I highly recommend adding this hidden gem to your itinerary!

@icelandwithaview 1st, let me clarify that I've read into the future plans of traveling to Iceland. What I would like is for you to explain to people who aren't aware. So, would you please be so kind to do a video explaining how Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir is planning on implementing a tax to tourists visiting the country as well as explaining why tourists need to purchase a visa on top of a passport? I believe it's important to inform people who want to visit Iceland in the future. Thank you for your consideration!

I love it! Been there in september 2021. I highly recommend wearing bathing shoes - there are sharp edges in the pools.
Cool they can restore the baths back to normal. Clever. Was feeling too commercial until you stated that. Lol. Nicely controlled too.

I have heard that Icelanders used to bake bread and perhaps casseroles in the coals of a hot volcanic sand area. Does anyone still do this?
Yes near Vik they bake bread.

In Iceland, local population doesn't bathe with swimsuits. It would be good to respect their way of life.
Shower before naked. Bath in swimsuit.
@@myshasharak6545 They do that at Blue Lagon, because it's full of tourists, but at the wild hot springs, they soak nude.
@dominiquetamer5138 I've been going to many natural hotsprings for years, quite often, they don't . Maybe on the occasions, at night, if they're alone or in private ones. But believe me, usually they don't
@@myshasharak6545now perhaps, with massive tourism, but they used to do some decades ago. My parents visited Iceland in the 90ies, and told me "they ignore the swimsuit in this country".
