Thanks for sharing your adventures Kris, after following your antics for years I feel I should come clean (new years resolution of sorts) . I don't own or have never really been metal detecting .😔 Righto 2023 what can I be straight up about ??
As a person “off the land” but not cropping background I still can’t stand watching you dig the sprouting crop the farmer has sown. However, the finds are good. Love hearing your jovial quips and remarks. Sounds like your old self.
Hi Kris, the token might be worth showing to your local FLO. Speaking of locals, I wonder how Boudicca would feel about you referring to her as "My Queen", given that she ruled the Iceni and you guys were Cantiaci? You weren't even neighbours! Perhaps she'd have been flattered?
Ah, not quite old chap! My family for many centuries are from the Yorkshire/Norfolk areas. It goes so far back on my DNA test, that it can’t go any further. Now, my Grandad (Yorkshireman) was in the army post WW2, and moved round to different places. One of the places was down here. My Dad, decided to stay. So now I’m literally the only southerner in the family stuck down here, moaning about the heat! The other half of my family are Irish to the core 👍🏻
@Addictedtobleeps Well, I'm happy to admit when I'm wrong and I get that I was wrong there. Was it the DNA test that revealed your Viking heritage? Hence the runic tattoo? If so, then I like the idea of your ancestors arriving here to trade (with a bit of pillaging on the side), sticking around, then your grandad defending the place, then your good self researching the sites and objects he'd have known well during his service. That's a pretty neat historic line to draw back through the centuries.
@@richardcastle3204 Indeed! So it ended up being about 20% Norwegian, a bit of Sweden and a bit of Iceland. Makes sense, because when the Vikings established themselves, they did so massively in Yorkshire (and Norfolk) Not a Viking rune though. Just a tattoo of a sun and a flower that I got in my young surfing days 😁👍🏻
Oh ffs, you could have said it's Old Norse for "Mighty bearded seeker of gold" or something, and I'd have been none the wiser. As you've intimated in previous vids, you're too honest for your own good sometimes!

do you find the q30 needs to be turned down to 60s sensitivity with moisture and soil type?
