Love listening to this guy. I have learned so much just by his music. Thanx for posting!
@JBT24 Agree with this one hundred percent. I love The Drift. I have only listened to it a handful of times during 3 years, but that's because it's an album that doesn't need dozens of plays to be memorable. The first listen was the strongest musical experience I have ever had.
Great interview, thanks a lot :) Good to know we can expect a new PT album this summer!
If Neil Gaiman would write a script, Tim Burton direct, Johnny Depp play the main role and Steven Wilson write the soundtrack, that would be so psychadelic
YEAH SCOTT WALKER!
This got me into Scott Walker's music.
I guess I gotta check out Scott Walker now lol. SW is a great interview, always very insightful.
Whenever i hear wilson talk about an artist i start looking up his music... I think im hoping stevens brilliance will rub off on me.
Dammit Steven, where's our PT record
Guess what haha
@@zakguitar2359 stoked!!
@@Pointless_Porcupine Me too my friend!
Yeah I am dissapoint, though i am looking forward to his forthcoming album in feburary :) Perhaps PT will get back at it sometimes next year.
I wonder why Steven Wilson never mentions Swans or Michael Gira, who I fond very much darker than Scott Walkers work. I know he listens to them.
@JBT24 I also think that those who like Scott Walker's album should check out Kayo Dot (Choirs of the Eye or Dowsing an Anenome with Copper Tongue are good starters) and/or check out their previous incarnation called "maudlin of the Well" if your interested in the porcupine tree/opeth dynamic :)
Hmm, I'm writing the script for a Fantasy/Action/Drama movie at the moment. I'd love to have Steven Wilson do the soundtrack. :)
@yumeN0dengon Steven Wilson changed his mind recently, he's gonna work on his 3rd solo record. We'll unfortunately have to wait another couple of years for a new PT album :\
@Zoaguyver It's called charisma, not brilliance. Don't feel dwarfed by him. He's really not all that. He's just confident, not wise.
If i was a director i would invite you Mr Wilson =)
@jek21 the time is starting to run out... it's coming
@FuckHarper666 Oh man! Just when I had gotten my hopes up... total deception rigth there :/
On the bright side we're gonna get a Wilson album anyway. Probably not as quickly , but it's still something. Gonna have to wait I guess -_-
Anyway, thanks for the info!
...so he doesn't consider how Colin would feel about his writing? :(
This guy is too rational and articulate to be in rock n' roll. ;)
The record was a lie!
Nope :(
