@TheKittsPajamas typically it's viewed as a sign of showing respect. Especially to people from down South or close to the border of Southern states. Why women don't have to I'm assuming is because a woman covering her head indoors is not frowned upon since historically it was a sign for submission.

I’m from the old School family of elderly parents. I respect the household. So when I bring someone to the house, they have to respectfully adjust to my parents request. It’s nothing unreasonable. Simply respectful.
