Ive seen a lot of people mention martis already HOWEVER there’s another Honorable Mention that isn’t being talked about and thats Fredrinn and his ult. It doesn’t say but by technicality it increases in damage based of HIS missing HP that is converted into crystal energy
One thing that you forgot to mention is that it bases on EXTRA HP (HP from emblems and items). That becomes a bit of an issue if you have Heptaseas and Endless Battle as your core item, and somehow your target has less Extra HP than you. But hey, its a useful item nonetheless.

Like triple the bonus from 8% to 24% for melee heroes only and suddenly Argus has a chance vs the current meta. Since it only works when u have less extra Hp than the enemy, Argus who builds 5-6 attack items like an mm will constantly be able to use it against other fighters and tanks, since most fighters build some HP items. This would also help other squishy fighters like Zilong and maybe Sun to survive in this meta.
@whitehavencpu6813 finally someone who gets it. Halberd right now isn't really worth it, it's not even the best antiheal item when dominance ice is right there, especially for fighters. And marksmen should naturally focus on increasing damage, rather than utility, so an 80 extra damage per basic attack is really weak. If u want phys attack, hunter strike is much better and has pen as well. And awesome balancing idea btw.

I like this new series! Gives a quick and short reminder on which skills on which heroes have different types of hp based dmg. Maybe do a subject on fixed, % penetration and negative armor debuff and how they all affect against defense, as many still don’t fully understand as to when to buy them. But honestly for me personally even after malefic roar’s nerf for early game, it’s still good to buy it as 2nd or 3rd item when 2 or more enemies defense go beyond 50+ armor.
Technically speaking, yes, Martis ult becomes true dmg when enemy hp is below half hp making him a terror for any low hp enemy, however it still only scales with phy atk, the dmg increase part is only for everytime he gets a successful kill with it (15% per kill, up to 30%) Also as a sub martis main, those who build hunter strike are overrated, for me personally its better to straight away buy BoD as all his skills are actually based on *EXTRA* phy atk, not including his base phy atk only from items and emblems. Plus BoD’s passive goes perfectly well with his ult as it gives more phy atk when enemy is below half hp making his ult really hurt if u get successful kill with it.

Since the damage is based on the number of shard he have. Ultimate already have 6 shard and most of the time players could have 12 shard at their disposal. My guess is that he deals 3000 damage if enemies low hp

Current Hp should be its own category but since there's like only 2 sources that do current HP, he simply included them in Enemy's Hp. Might be confusing to new players though, current vs total hp makes a huge difference, else you'd be able to kill anyone with 12 basic attacks using DHS.
Maybe they should add magic scaling for Rafaela's passive?! I mean in the upcoming patches most healer supports will be forced to buy more magic items and get extra heals and buffs. If they add scaling to her passive, she will instantly become a better support too! She dies but takes revenge on enemies and with maximum stats like we say 700 magic attack, Rafaela's passive is increased up to 35% plus her original 20% max hp equal to 55%. I know she will kill squishies with that passive and almost melt down tanks but it can be blocked by other enemies and cuntered by clones invincible skills. Heroes like Sun, Ling, Zask, Wanwan and a few heroes will be forced to be chosen in order to counter Rafaela of the other team.
When it comes to dhs and cursed helmet, they have a peculiar interaction with summoned units, but that mostly negatively impacts zhask, which I'm posting alongside a bunch of other bugs: TLDR: Zhask's spawn counts as both a creep and hero unit at the same time and the wall hitboxes suck. (I noticed that the damage problems seem to affect all summoned units, but neither sun nor vex seem as badly affected as Zhask, but please correct me if I'm wrong). Can we get a zhask bug fix? His spawn takes full damage from both retribution and dhs (which makes helcurt one shot my ult or me and my passive, and it takes two instances of damage from cursed helmet, one normal and one 350%) and he can't ult in minsi's anti-dash field under any circumstance, even when its an on the spot morph, the wall's hitboxes are just broken(I often clearly teleport over a wall and stay on the same side), if you activate his ultimate but subsequently die before morphing, the ultimate goes on cooldown despite the fact that it hasn't really been cast (I think most of us would love i-frames during the morphing phase- between triggering and being in it) and all in all its just annoying to play sometimes. Blade of Despair and Sea Halberd are only damage increase under certain requirements. It may have anything to do with enemy HP, but it has nothing to do with HP-based scaling. Blade of Despair increases more attack if you hit Low HP targets, Sea Halberd increases more attack if you hit tankier targets but will not be effective if your HP is higher than theirs.

edith main damage is when using her ult, in the ult state, edith will convert her defense to magic power so basically edith deals more damage in tank mode with more HP while she deals more damage in marksman mode with more DEF

My guessing is that it only works on an already high damage heroes like Lesley, Beatrix and Brody. But still I don't understand why the item is slept on the damage is very beneficial if paired with BoD
Iirc fredrin's ult is based on his gray hp. If his hp is low and he doesn't have that gray hp he will still deals low damage. It's actually still a hp based damage tho.
Fredrinn's different, his ult's damage scales from the amount of Crystal Energy you have which is the grey bar. He stores large percentage of the damage he receives as Crystal Energy, so each time he takes damage the grey bar becomes bigger, and then it decays overtime. The ult would also deal a lot less damage if he has lesser Crystal Energy. I might be wrong tho lol
Elgin is failing to mention here that every hero that does the hp based dmg if it’s magical or physical in nature (excluding heroes with true damage like Karrie or x Borg) it ALL gets effected by RESIST so it’s never actually as high as these calculations are; and the mans added dhs to the max hp list which isn’t max hp based it’s current hp based just like the old glowing wand meaning it does less and less damage the lower your opponent’s hp is and it does physical damage which gets effected by resist
It's based on his crystal energy (grey HP) not his normal HP, go ahead and try it out in training mode and use ult while low HP with 0 crystals, you wont deal even mid tier dmg

If your combo deals 4000 damage, sea halberd is only gonna boost it up to 4320. That's the definition of not worth it.

My guessing is that it only works on an already high damage heroes like Lesley, Beatrix and Brody. But still I don't understand why the item is slept on the damage is very beneficial if paired with BoD

Iirc fredrin's ult is based on his gray hp. If his hp is low and he doesn't have that gray hp he will still deals low damage. It's actually still a hp based damage tho.

You forgot blade of despair for some reason.
Its an item that boost dmg if hp lower or equal to 50%.
Thats why it's core item for leomord.

Fredrinn's different, his ult's damage scales from the amount of Crystal Energy you have which is the grey bar. He stores large percentage of the damage he receives as Crystal Energy, so each time he takes damage the grey bar becomes bigger, and then it decays overtime.
The ult would also deal a lot less damage if he has lesser Crystal Energy.
I might be wrong tho lol

Elgin is failing to mention here that every hero that does the hp based dmg if it’s magical or physical in nature (excluding heroes with true damage like Karrie or x Borg) it ALL gets effected by RESIST so it’s never actually as high as these calculations are; and the mans added dhs to the max hp list which isn’t max hp based it’s current hp based just like the old glowing wand meaning it does less and less damage the lower your opponent’s hp is and it does physical damage which gets effected by resist

It's based on his crystal energy (grey HP) not his normal HP, go ahead and try it out in training mode and use ult while low HP with 0 crystals, you wont deal even mid tier dmg
