I am so grateful for humans like you that take the time to do these kinds of videos. I was trying to treat my razor right by taking it apart to clean thoroughly and when I put it back together, I got the same loud, jangling story as everyone else. The worst part was it cut a little bit of my hair,, so I was looking pretty fudged up. I started breaking a sweat trying multiple ways to put that damn thing back together. Finally broke down to see if anyone posted a solution and finding your video was a huge relief! The key was totally getting the other blade underneath the clip and your video made that clear. Thanks a lot!
Thanks so much man. I had just about given up fixing the clipper and was about to shell out for a more expensive model. I had missed clipping the outer blade to the inner one - duhhh. I feel like a dope but I'll get over that :-)
This guy is an unselfish hero. Figuring this stuff out and posting it on youtube saved many people both money and time. Also helped save unnecessary waste. Can't believe this stuff isn't in the so called manual. Wahl should pay this guy money and put the video up on their homepage. It would be great customer service and save them from angry reviews.
The people at the saver shop tried to tell me that once you pull the blade apart that you can't put it back together and they wanted to charge me $50 for a new one. I thought it would be possible to put back together and you sir have shown me exactly how to do that. Legend, thankyou.
I was freaking out after cleaning my clipper because I couldn't figure out why it wasn't cutting. If it wasn't for this video where I was able to see that the larger blade must be held by the clip I would never have guessed it. Thank you very much Kurt for uploading this. Greetings from Argentina ✌🇦🇷
This video saved me from buying a new one! It fell off the sink and I couldn’t figure out how to reassemble correctly, but got it back together and functional thanks to this video. Thank you much!
Perfect. That fixed my problem. For those of you who didn't "see" the fix, the top blade needs to be inserted into the clip of the bottom blade. It's a bit difficult to pull up but that keeps the blades tight to each other.
Yes, you are right, they should have included those instructions in the book, but they obviously don't want us fixing it. They also lied in the book on how to replace the battery. You can't just simply lift the back up to replace the battery. There are 4 screws that they don't tell you about. So I made a video on how to replace the battery, as it won't be long before you will have to replace it. My battery is already shot. ruclips.net/video/mtUCYVNijyc/видео.html Manufacturers are getting bad about trying to keep people from repairing the things that they own. I love RUclips sometimes. I’m standing here, head horribly shaved, couldn’t figure out what is the issue. This video saved me, because I have a new job next week, and can’t afford a new one. This fixed my issue. RUclips to the rescue. Thanks to the poster of this video!
The assembly Trick is(Struggle to force the square end of the spring "on to the large blade" carefully maintain a steady hold while manuvering both attached blades now skillfully clipping the spiral 2 ends into the plastic foundation. If you get this far, your on your way to the final stage. Final stage is,, all 3 parts together so screws line-up, and pin back in the 2 screws. Finally tighten and manuvering to the motor clipper pin and skillfully snap back in. I too am greatfull for the video. If it be done again ""slower"" you will have a full proof teaching solution. Again! Thanks, it worked😊
hey, your the man. I intended to do the same thing, cleanup, but then put it back and it was so loud and wasn't cutting even a single strand. I knew the blades had to press against each other but couldn't figure how. But thanks to you, I saved on buying a new one and guilt of ruining a functioning clipper!
HUGE thanks. I bought these clippers at lockdown to start cutting my own hair. After 2 & 1/2 years I thought I'd treat them to a clean. Like a typical bloke I didn't read any instructions and just undid the 2 screws, pulled out the big blade and cleaned away. Put screwed it back together and it's not cutting just BUZZING LOUDLY. Watched this, slid the big blade under the spring clamp and it's fixed. YOU DA MAN😁👍
Great video! Was struggling with putting it back together. Never would have figured out the spring thing without this video. Thanks alot. You saved me the cost of a new clippers.
Kurt thank you for posting the video in 2020. My clippers have been functioning suboptimally, and with your help I was able to clean and reassemble them. No need to buy a new set when you can get the old ones back online. Thanks again my friend!
Genius. The magic is at 0:55 and another thing that helped to reduce vibration was to press down on the metal retaining clips on the clippers themselves to hold the whole thing tighter. Thank you!!
If your Wahl is making a terrible rattling sound and isnt cutting, 1:00 is probably your problem. it was mine! Thanks so much Kurt, you're a legend for providing this video!
This video is a Lifesaver. I opened the back blade to clean hair. And then once I screw back in making loud noise and not cutting hair at all. This video really helped me to put blades right together. Thanks a lot. God Bless.
I literally just bought my clipper last night and while trying to check if the blade is adjustable, I mistakenly detached the blades from the spring. I had spent hours trying to fix it until I came to RUclips and saw your video. You’re my hero❤🎉🎉🎉
Lets stop for a moment and pay our respect and gratitude to this amazing guy who took his time to post this insightful and very useful video! I have added a drop of oil where the clip touches the blade and I can say that it sounds brand new now! This video should reach every desperate hairy soul out there so I suggest you to update the title or add the following tags to the description of the video to help others to find it: Wahl Color Pro maintenance, wahl color pro cordless rechargeable hair clipper, Wahl portable clipper blades assembly disassembly, Wahl blades alignment.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I had taken it apart to clean it, and put it back together with my husbands help. Tried the clippers, and they wouldn't cut hair. We missed the most important step, placing the blade under the clip! Bless you, and thank you for creating this video.
Like everyone else, thanks a ton for your video! I cleaned out the clippers and "put them back together" went to go cut my husband's hair and it was pulling his hair real bad and making a load sound. Found your video and saw that I put them back together wrong. The clip part to hold the blade together totally missed that the first time. Now they work like they did before.
I just bought this razor and went to oil it before using it for the first time. When you unscrew those 2 screws, the spring holding everything tightly together pops off and it wont cut. I thought I had a defective unit until I saw this video and successfully (although nearly impossible to get back together... I used a butter knife to help, lol) these are back to cutting, THANK YOU!!
Thanks for very useful & much needed video solution. I faced hair pulling problem after I opened blade but now I figured out I was not fitting it correctly. Really thanks to you, I followed your steps and my Wahl 9649 working perfectly. Kudos for you !!
What an amazing video! Went to clean out my 9307A (Which has exactly the same head) and took the screws out first whilst the head was still clipped into the body! Everything fell apart and I put it back together as best I could, however, every time I pressed down on it to shave, the blades stopped completely. Spoke to my local hairdresser who offered to send mine away to be, 'Repaired' at a cost of £45!! Thanks to your video, I've just fixed it myself for free!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
Wahl should honor you for this video - I am still waiting for their customer service department to respond to my inquiry. Thank you! Yes, the clip on the top blade was the "missing link" for me as well.
You just saved me $75, I was about to start looking for a new buzzer. God bless you for posting this video and showing us how to fix that horrible noise 😬😊
Hello friend, greetings from Cancun, Mexico. You saved my wahl's life, I bought it in August 2017, but I accidentally fell and opened the razor, just today watching your video I knew how to align correctly and it works wonderfully, thanks for your video friend🤟🏼😎
DUDE Kurt. You rock. My wife took ours apart clean it then it did the same thing like everyone else mentions. Tried cutting mine and our little boys and unfortunately it caused some pain for us all, literally. Tonight's attempt kicked a search and by some miracle the same model popped up and wahlah. It sounds better and looks right already. Hopefully tomorrow's attempt goes well! Thank you so much for this simple fix!
Listen bro. You're a straight up gangster. I don't know you and I don't know what your life is like, but mine sucks and me finding out that little wire clip goes on top of one of the shears to hold it tight saved me so much freaking grief. I spent I don't know how long trying to figure out how to put my clippers back together after cleaning them. That small little detail made all the difference in the world because I absolutely love these clippers. Best ones I've ever had.
Thank you very much for your video. I bought this model today, and when I went to clean it, I ended up assembling it wrong and couldn't put it back together again. I'm from Brazil and no video in Portuguese helped me, I found the solution in your video, so thank you very much!
Thank you very much! I didn't realize, as you show, that the mobile and stationary blades have to be assembled together with one piece under the spring. Your video saved me from buy another new clipper!
I was about to buy another Wahl Colour Code until I came across your video ,thanks Kurt. Like a previous comment this really should be included in the instructions. I got stuck when l unscrewed it and the clip holding the blades brcame separated that plus l didn't know you could push the assembled until off. Again cheers Kurt you saved me alot of hassle, thank God for helpful bright people my favourite hair clipper works like new.
Astonished that this world wide product should have such a design flaw that would ALLOW it to be put back together incorrectly. Thank you thank you for putting me right!!
God! thanks to this video!! very useful!! was about to throw the whole set into the trash bin after 2 hours of fixing and don't know that a small clip needs to bit the base blade......This info really needs to be mentioned in the manual otherwise this product is not working.
Thanks for this video. I was about to throw away my clippers because I didn't know how to fix this issue. I took them apart to clean them but when I put them back together it didn't sound right. This video helped me a lot. Thank you!
Thanks a million for sharing this. Took my clipper apart and missed the part around 1min 2 secs where you show how the spring should be attached to the bottom blade. This video helped me solve the problem immediately. Thanks so much for taking the time to share this.
It's great how the spring is no where to be found on the instruction manual. Awesome video. Was super frustrated trying to figure it out. Thanks for your help. Tine to resume my hair cut without the shredding of my hair.
Thanks so much. Same issue. the spring is like a booby trap. Once you slide it out, the spring slips off of it and then you're doomed lol. This video has helped SO many people with this same exact issue (As you can read.) Thumbs up everyone.
Thank you so much! I cleaned the blades, put it back and it wouldn't cut anymore. I was about to throw it away and buy a new one. It's so simple, that clip needs to stay on top of the blade!!!
Wahl needs to pay you some royalty fees for making this video. Was about to smash my trimmer on the ground before I came across this gem. The key is the placement of the spring clip at around 2:06 of this video. Judging by the number of views of this video, Kurt is the only one to have figured this out! Thanks for making this Kurt.
THANK YOU, that damn spring that holds the blades together I had NO CLUE it went over the main blade. I cleaned put back together one blade at time and the shit would not cut at all. I was getting sooo mad, I then see the blades came apart on you and also. I seen you knew the spring U shape went up and on the top and rides the blade I guess keeping the correct tension. I put back together and bam cut like a charm now the blades aligned right, TY SO MUCH.
Great! Although i hv a different wahl model no, the mechanism looks exactly the same & i was able to properly asemble the part, thanks to your video. Now my clipper runs smoothly. Perhaps the next step is to replace the battery after more than 7 years it has served me well.
getting ready for a job interview and I decided to take them apart to clean them and I just could not figure out what the problem was. You're a life saver!
Hi Kurt, thanks to you I could finally fix the blades for my clipper. I was just one click away from ordering another clipper from amazon that I came across this! Cheers
Hi and thanks so much for taking the time to post this video. I thought I had broken my clippers because they wouldn't cut. Thank you, thank you, thank you, I can use my clippers again. You have saved me a lot of money, I really appreciate your help.
Thank you very much for this video! It saved me money replacing the whole trimmer (I got so fed up with the blade not cutting). Didn't realize that the top blade was supposed to be tucked into the top of the spring assembly. Thank you again!
From deep of my hearth i just want to say thank you for the tutorial,i own wahl but different type,i removed the blade and cleaned it and when i put it back it wont cut hair like before,i was cried but now it back to normal😄😄
I took my clippers apart to clean, and when I put back together. WOW the clippers were So Loud , and wont cut as Good & mainly pulled.. Thanks To This Video, I fifures out why my clippers were so Loud.. Its because of the Spring Clip, that Holds the Teeth Together.. Now it works Like New & Quieter. THANK YOU. HAPPY EASTER SUNDAY 🐣
thank you so much. I got it apart to clean it and then couldn't get it back to working order. i was so confused but I just missed the spring clipping onto the guard. now it is all back and working great thanks to the help of this video
this just saved my life i gotta go to the nursing home and shave up my gpa and visiting hours are short. couldnt figure out o needed that spring around both parts
Thanks so much for the video. I just disassembled our Wahl 9649 (used for our dogs; I no longer have enough hair left to warrant its use). I reassembled it using this video and it appears to be working well.
I tryed to fixed because it’s very noise . I try many times to fix and I focused on screws . Today I see this video and it work like new. Thanks you so much
This was such a helpful video. I struggled for months attempting to re-assemble my clippers! I was about to buy a new head completely but this video helped me fix it!! Thank you.
Just as everyone else said thank you so much. My wife "trying to help me" took mine apart to clean it after using it and put it together wrong. Now i know.
It took me days to try and fix it following official website manual ... failed failed and failed ... thank you so very much for making it easy ! Saved my day and haircut :)
Top man Kurt, what an absolute pain in the arse this was, but there’s no way I’d have managed without this video. My clippers purr like a cat and I can fix this patchy mess on top of my head.
I had the same problem after cleaned the machine, all is in the CLICK, thanks for your take 3:22 of your time for a great assistance, but i dont understand, simple and helpful video and ... why 28 dislike ? oh people people!
You rock man. I despise buying new trimmers. Have taken apart 3 at this point that ended up in the trash. Not anymore! I asked myself how can this be difficult with only 4 pieces? Thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for taking time to do this video and upload it! Hope there is more people like you and this video definitely saved my day. Thanks again!!
Absolutely Brilliant! Like many others, I had taken mine apart for cleaning and when I put it back together...that same horrible sound. I must have spent two hours or more tinkering with it and couldn't figure it out. As soon as you pointed out that the clip holds both blades, I could see the scrape marks on the larger blade where the clip had been previously. That worked like a charm! Thank you so much for posting this video!!!
Thank you thank you thank you! I knew the clip had to go over the top blade, but it was so difficult, I started second guessing myself, then gave up entirely LOL. I finally got it back together. Thanks again!
Many thanks for posting this, been trying to get a set back together for months until I found this! I was close but this video helped me to complete to assembly 🙂
Dude thanks I didn’t realize that clip was what closed the gap. I appreciate it. I just bought these and only used it once. I thought it broke it was a piece of junk because it wouldn’t cut after just cleaning it.
My sister ordered this clipper for me for hair cut in this corona situation so I could prevent myself from barber shop and possible spread but after just first hair cut I dismantled the blade unit and when again assembled it starts create problems and overall absolutely no cutting even I think that my sister don't know about clippers and gifted me a shi# so since a whole month I didt use that and today after watching your video , huge thanks to you I'm able to reassemble that in working condition again I'm heartly thankful. A like and subscribe from my side keep going. 👍😁
So I removed the head to clean it and I broke a small piece of the black plastic that clicks and holds the whole top part on the machine…I reached out to WAHL and they agreed to replace the entire top part of the machine..I just got it package right now..I came here to see how to click it on as I’m having. Trouble doing it…when I spoke to the agent they thought that I had said that I tired to do what you are doing at the beginning..disassembly of the top piece…they mentioned that I shouldn’t do it because this was done by robot/machine…just thought I’d share with you guys…but I had always heard of people doing it …but I mm not going to take my chances…nice video mate …

Finally broke down to see if anyone posted a solution and finding your video was a huge relief! The key was totally getting the other blade underneath the clip and your video made that clear. Thanks a lot!
Amen
Same here. Blinking instructions were like opening up a broadsheet newspaper which was as clear as MUD! This helped me A L O T. Thank you.
The sad part is this video isn't even top of the list when you do a search for Wahl repair
Thanks so much man. I had just about given up fixing the clipper and was about to shell out for a more expensive model. I had missed clipping the outer blade to the inner one - duhhh. I feel like a dope but I'll get over that :-)

Amazing thank you. I tried all possible combinations to fix my clipper. Am glad you posted this video . I have now sorted my clipper

Man it works like the first day, I've been searching how to repair but nothing work until o see your video 💪

By watching your video I realize what I did wrong on mine ans it was making loud noise when I put it back together. Thank you 🤙🏼
this just saved my life i gotta go to the nursing home and shave up my gpa and visiting hours are short. couldnt figure out o needed that spring around both parts
Thanks so much for the video. I just disassembled our Wahl 9649 (used for our dogs; I no longer have enough hair left to warrant its use). I reassembled it using this video and it appears to be working well.
Thank you so much for this video! I just spent over an hour puzzling over what I'd done wrong after cleaning it.
Helped me get my blade working again after I cleaned it, thanks! One issue I'm having now is the screws just won't go in at all
I tryed to fixed because it’s very noise . I try many times to fix and I focused on screws . Today I see this video and it work like new. Thanks you so much
This was such a helpful video. I struggled for months attempting to re-assemble my clippers! I was about to buy a new head completely but this video helped me fix it!! Thank you.
Thank you your video helped me to repair my husbands clipper and he’ll be very happy. He had a rough couple days.
After an adventurous clean after my first cut I had this exact problem - this worked like a charm!
Life saver mate. Probs wasn't the best thing for me to take it apart the day before my holiday on a Saturday night but you saved the day.
Yo thank you. Decided to clean my clippers mid head shave and couldn't get them back together right and this video saved me.
This was great. i missed that the clip needed to be on the top blade.
The same 😂. Thanks bro. Liked it
Me 2

Bro common mistake
Yeah man, me too. What a top bloke!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your figuring this out and sharing it with the world!
Thanks for the video, Brother. You made my day. Like others have commented, this procedure needs to be in an owner's manual. Take care and stay safe.
Thank you so much for taking time to do this video and upload it! Hope there is more people like you and this video definitely saved my day. Thanks again!!
Thank you so much for this video. I had to search far and wide for someone actually fiddling with this blade.
Arigatou!!!
I thought I had mine spoiled. I cleaned the clipper and didn't realise that the spring went off its place. Thank you so much!
So simple, thanks for taking the time to post the fix to what looks like a very common problem.
Thank you dude! I had it halfway figured out but I couldn't get the blade under the clip efficiently. This helped me out a ton.
You’re the man!! I was about to toss out the razor after cleaning and not being able to put back together. Thanks
YES!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!! I was ready to throw my clippers out because I thought I broke them while reassembling them.
After a painful haircut last night. This video was a huge help!
i recently bought this unit and this solution fixed my issue. thank u so much
Thank you Kurt! We only used it once and thought it was broken, so you saved our butts!
THANK YOU, KURT!!!! So appreciate that you took the time to share your knowledge.
Thank you! Such a simple fix that would have taken me hours to work out.
Many thanks for posting this, been trying to get a set back together for months until I found this! I was close but this video helped me to complete to assembly 🙂
Life saver! Couldn't figure out why my clippers wasn't cutting! Thanks for this!
Ya just saved me a from buying a new pair of clippers .. My Daughter took them apart and the blade was the only Mystery ! .. Thanks so much
