    I have been thinking about taking on Floyd Mayweather's Jump Rope Routine for 2 years now. I'll never forget the first time I watched it, and how amazed I was. I didn't know someone could be that good at jumping rope. So I set out to learn Floyd Mayweather's toughest skipping routine with the goal of doing it in 50 days. This was by far the hardest challenge I have ever taken on, and really forced me to take my jump rope skills to the next level. Over the course of this jump rope challenge, I was pushed to my limits, but overall I think I developed new jump rope skills, mastered new jump rope moves, and became a more resilient person. I hope you like the video!
    Have a great week guys! Cheers.

    Fantastic lesson in perseverance 👏, but as I am from a boxing background I don't think you thought about how big a part footwear plays in this. I think you would have had a much quicker progression in boxing boots as they are almost completely flat with no heel to toe drop and also are narrower and provide ankle support. In my experience they really do promote a much better posture for skipping

    You're doing different double under crosses than Floyd, he begins his double unders by crossing the rope. This means he jumps, crosses, uncrosses, and then lands. He lands with his hands open, not crossed. I made this mistake too, it takes a bit of time to learn but it's very much doable. The progression would be doing a cross into double under where you hold the double under while crossed, then land and uncross it. This teaches you to whip the rope while crossing to get enough speed for a double under cross. I can post a video showing the differences.
    Also, I would highly recommend getting a longer rope. You can make it work with a shorter rope, but it locks your hands super low which makes you look very stiff. Check how long Floyd's rope is- it's actually very long. I've found the extra length makes doing fast crossovers and double under crossovers a LOT more forgiving since you have more room to work with.

You, with utmost sincerity and honesty, posted what you considered to be a failure to meet the 50 day challenge, your perseverance despite the so called 'failure', the frustration of hitting a wall, the breakthrough with the shorter rope and the final achievement of the goal. You honestly declared that it took 137 days. I have not been this invested in any movie or video till date. Your journey has literally inspired me unceasingly pursue my own fitness goals. I've seen tons of documentaries, videos etc. but never felt this inspired. I was actually nervous towards the end of the video and was wholeheartedly rooting for you. Things that will help make faster progress. Get a body kength mirror to watch yourself as you practice. Try weighted ropes to slow down the moves a lot. And practice leatning each move seperately, only moving to the next trick once you master that one. If you have problems that just get you in a rut you should start adjusting rope length an inch or 2 at a time and give it at least a couple of days of practicing before changing length again.
    Try different materials of rope until you find the one that works best for the particular routine you're doing and finally start putting the moves together once you can do them all seperately

If you watch Mayweather and Rushie, they keep their legs from doing that by raising your knees more. Good work and determination on not giving up. Its hard but if you do it i promise it does something to your brain that really makes you feel like a BOSS and you will feel so good after. Not joking give it a try. • @tylersmith1756
    @tylersmith1756 3 месяца назад

    there are some things that make this extra hard. Mayweather uses a really long rope for his height. Which is hard for a coordination stand point but also gives him great flexibility when doing crosses and DU crosses because it gives him a bigger loop. But you need to learn the jump rope with that length from the beginning because its weird. Also floyd isn't using a weighted cross rope rope. He is using a lightweight probably plastic or steel wire rope meant for speed drills. I would recommend learning on a speed rope because they are really lightweight. It makes it harder to kind of feel where the rope is in the orbit around you. But once you have experience, you can use them more easily. When you are trying to do little tweaks to technique, you need a mirror. With crosses and run throughs and DU crosses you are trying to fix like wrist position. Its really hard to feel those tiny differences if you can actually see it. You can video it, but you need something that is an instant, I am looking at it, feedback. It just makes it way easier. I say all this having tried to do components of floyds workout and then realized i just kind of can't. I was never able to get DU crossovers on my own, i have the beginnings but can never connect them together. But Floyd has jumped rope for fitness for like 20+ years, so he's just better.

    Going to sound like a fan-boy but this channel is without a shadow one of my favourite on RUclips, just honest improvment all round. I've used some of there mentally to help myself in my own life. Well done as always and keep them coming! (Still think there should be a 30day taped mouth for sleep though!)

    This is insane. Doing this Mayweather routine with the crossrope is way harder. I have the crossrope and also the rope Mayweather uses in the video. I tried in the beginning with the crossrope and it was so hard and I even thought it was imposible with that rope. Now that I've watched this video I know it is achievable, such a great video. I used to skip rope a lot. I have like 4 different ropes but I stopped like almost 2 years ago. I'm starting to jump again, and this video was a great motivation. Good job.

    And indeed jump rope is one of the most underrated fitness workouts! The jump rope's a secret weapon, and those who use it know that it's no secret at all!

    Loved the video, but aren't there any ropes out there that don't hurt so much when they hit you?

    i wondered why you were putting your arms so wide. rope length is so important. i was so worried about getting the wrong length when buying my cross rope
