I used to collect money from charity boxes a few years ago. One particular shop in Walsall which had a box was always full to the brim with pound coins (a lot of money) and the shopkeeper used to say that it was Paul Merson who regularly put the money in. Yes a great friend indeed and a top bloke :)

How many of us need a push like that? How many of us would take that push, I’m guessing most of us would get the raving. Yeah, we’d be stuck in a rut and accept that fact. If we just try, and without the excuses we just might make it. How great would it be to be able to say “I wish I did this years ago” rather than it being too late and we’re lying in a *BYE BYE BOX* If at 1st we don’t succeed, you know the rest…

I really do hope that merson doesn't have a relapse. I found the first bit around the table, really patronising and annoying by merson, obviously everyone with a drinking problem knows it, and most wouldnt appreciate the lecture by merson, especially in public. Sometimes if someones doesnt want to talk you have to let it lie (or your 'through the window"!).
