When an alcoholic stops drinking his brain is affected in many ways an alcoholic s brain chemistry is damaged by years of heavy drinking. In abstinence there's symptoms such as mood swings, dizziness, nausea, anxiety and depression these are all connected to the frontal lobe of the brain. Also the definition of a disease is a condition that has a diagnosis and has treatment. People who have no idea about alcoholism say it's not a disease. A Dr specialising in alcoholism would give you these facts so yes alcoholism is very much a disease along with diabetes, cancer or any other illness
