      Faster is limiting to 20 - 25 gross carbs per meal, drink plenty of water and have no more than one tablespoon of any kind of sweeteners in one day. So no diet sodas or artificially sweetened candy. Also, supplements with berberine or bitter lemon or fenugreek help. In 2018, my a1c went from 12 to 5.5 in less than six months.

    I laugh when she says, "take berberine under the guidance of a health care professional." Yeah, right. Listening to my doctor is what got me stuck in the 4 injections of insulin per day. They dont want you to get better... they would have nobody to prescribe medication to and wouldn't be able to schedule all the office visits and blood work that goes along with sickly patients. Doctors take more pride in their bank account balance than the number of clients that they actually help.

    Second week low carb diet with approximately 150 carb a day.
    One tablespoon apple cider vinegar before each meal, 30 min fast walking after 15 min of finishing each meal(total 1 hour walking daily)
    I lose 4 kg weight as well.

But my insulin curve....was taking so many hours to come down, that's the best test you can do, dont just trust your A1C. Dont trust your regular doctor, go with a endocrinologist and make sure you get all the special test to see if your insulin is ok.

    I'm on my feet for the majority of my day. Walking around the shop or yard looking for vehicles and climbing on them or underneath them. Plus the one hour at work for PT and I do lift weights once a week for about an hour. My job is quite physical at times depends on what I'm working on that day.
    I also had a back injury last year and was unable to work out or maintain my physical activity. I was told I was diabetic this year and at no time was diet discussed and was immediately put on 1000mg of metformin that instantly gave me headaches and made me light headed. Then Jardiance that has done the same. I cannot work this way with a headache all day long.
    I did change my diet after I was told this and dropped my A1c from 7.1 to 6.7 with no meds. I have yet to go back to my doctor to see where I'm at. Been busy with just life. Getting back to my normal routine I have never felt better. I also have never felt like shit with the medication I was given.

    Carbohydrates (any carbohydrates) convert to glucose immediately after consumption. We do not need to eat carbohydrates - they are non-essential and raise blood glucose levels. I haven't eaten any carbs for years. Our body produces all the glucose it needs through

    • @1983maya
      @1983maya 12 дней назад

      If the pudding is loaded with sugars then yes it will spike your blood sugars. Generally doctors prescribe metformin to reduce blood sugars in a diabetic person. One have your pudding only once a week if you must have it. Have it after you have eaten a full meal so you will have less of it and eat it after lunch so that you can walk it off and not increase your blood sugars crazily. Don't eat sweet things at night just before sleep because they will increase blood sugars and stay in the system till morning. Have your sweet (on occassion) before 3 pm. So you have time to walk it off your system before you sleep at night.

    I learned I was pre-diabetic with an A1c of 5.8 at the end of 2023. (I didn’t even know such a thing existed). Using Carb Manager app, I went on a keto diet which restricted my carbs to 15 g and currently to 13 g. daily; lost 20 pounds. This week April 2, had my A1c test (non fasting) redone after three months on Keto with no cheats. The last week in March, had my fasting blood glucose tested. It came in at 99 from 105 - healthy but “just”. I was expecting a reading in the 80s. But the real devastating result was my A1c INCREASED to 5.9! I was so confident that it would be around 5.5! Cannot see my nutritionist nor primary care physician until the end of April. Felt totally lost, on a runaway train to Type 2 but have regrouped and developed a new plan which will hopefully get me out of prediabetes state. Why would my fasting glucose decrease but my A1c increase? Could there be an error in the test? Do I need to wait three more months to retest my A1c? In the meantime, I went back through all my blood work from previous years and saw I had an A1c of 5.7 in 2020!! Like you said, no one told me about the test results and what it meant. Thank you for all your information.

    Coffee creamer?!😂
    Only can tell, what i have done:
    Lost 30Kg from end of February up to now, begin of September. My blood sugar level from "Insulin apears on the horizon" to bit over normal.
    About that coffee creamer: look at trans fats / heart....
    Ok, i banned every kind of extra sugar (fructose in my daily fruit is the only left, no other sweeteners cause they are pushing the insuline production and the demand for more - similar like sugar), all processed food (the more processed the worse for you), no alcohol (had two bottles of beer since), now -- and with 😢 : no meat! Didn't believe it myself, it works (managed to do it by banning 50% and replace the second 50% with all kinds of seafood), reduced the amount of some food (e.g. rice, bread, pasta,...) down to 50% now, eating some 30g+ of protein a day (from milk products!), about 4l fluid or even more on hot days with much sweating (mostly water, coffee,tea) a day (tall 2m guy), yep, i do a kind of part time fasting (have a 12 sometimes 14 hours break for my pancreas, only water) means: breakfast at 12⁰⁰ (buttered brezel + coffee with normal milk (only!😉🙂)), 17⁰⁰ kind of Müsli (google) yoghurt with fruit, 2 or 3 walnuts, apple, banana and a third kind (eg. plums or grapes, WATERmelon better), 2 spoons of fine oat flakes, some ginger, cinnamon and turmeric (i add milk if it becomes too solid), and by 22⁰⁰ at the latest dinner: soup, salad or a sandwich, then sleep and repeat 🔄🥲
    The only thing i haven't gotten to yet, is that sports thing....🤷😉
    But i will try.😮‍💨Hopfully i will do it at some point in the near future.🤞
    Okay
    Why that long comment? Because of my big ego? No!
    Because of that sad sentence we all should prevent in the end and at our end on earth:
    "If only i had....."
    And if i habitual 🦥 can do something you out there can do, too. Probably even more successful. And if you stumble about that piece of cake (should be the exception), it's not helpful (that should be 100% clear), but hell, if you have to eat it, enjoy it! But don't do it in secret, don't live a Two - Face life. Be honest to yourself (and your doc at least). And the next day try again and "do something" (no Nike's required😉😂). Try to improve. There is always room to do so, even in the smallest things. It's all about that first step and that starts right behind your eyes: 🧠
    If you dream of a gastric band surgery, that Ferrari sports car, a career or the lovely person you wanna live with......
    So 🤞 for you, us all
    💧🎤💨
    👋☮️

      Hi. If you are diagnosed as prediabetic, then this is a Wake Up Call. If you change how you, when you eat and what you eat, you can prevent yourself from getting full blown diabetes. Take a plate, divide it into 4 portion. 1 salad 2 proteins (plant or animal based) 3 cooked vegetable 4th portion carbohydrates like grains. For eg: whole wheat brown bread or whole wheat flatbread with chickpea curry and cucumber onion tomato salad can be a meal. Have your salad first. Drink and eat these beverages/ garlic cloves on alternate days either on empty stomach or between meals - apple cider vinegar (1 tablespoon vinegar in about 200 ml water - hot or room temp or cold), turmeric hot water 3 pinches of turmeric powder 1 pinch of pepper powder added to hot water, mix well drink. Fennel tea, 1 or 2 cloves of garlic, lemon tea (hot water with lemon juice no sugar no sweetness of any kind, no salt).
      Have garlic cloves on Monday fennel tea on Tuesday turmeric water on Wednesday etc. Rinse repeat. Hope this helps bring your hba1c to normal soon.
      Also do some body weight / strength training exercises everyday like squats or wall sits or planks, walk alternate days or days when you are bored to exercise. Sleep regularly and well each night. Also manage your stress with some deep breathing. Just sit in a corner, breathe deeply in and out for a few minutes. You can also noisily breathe in and out. Eat between sunrise and sunset as much as possible. Have your dinner as close as possible to sunset. All the best 👍

    Sleep very well, organic/fasting/sober, only drink water (last 30 years)
    Exercise walking daily and other things over the last 50 years. Love exercise.
    A1C 6.4% 1 year ago (after 5 years of Keto/Ketovore). 6 months blood test
    this week and A1C is at 6.5% Also Creatine BUN went up too.
    Gave up coffee on 1/1/24 for the 3rd time now in 8 years.

    • @1983maya

      Yes. Try eating overnight water soaked fenugreek seeds in the morning on empty stomach. Do this 4 times per week. But make sure you do eat a good breakfast after, fenugreek seeds bring down blood sugars very fast. Do this for a month and check your hba1c 😊

      I am going to be blunt/rude here. If a diabetic person is fat/obese they Have to bring their weight down to reduce their hba1c numbers. I am not even saying they need to come down by 50 pounds or something. Every pound matter, every single pound of weight that fat diabetic people drop, their hba1c numbers go down like magic. It's a bitter pill to swallow but it's the truth. This benefit does NOT work for thin people who have diabetes.
      And they can pick their poison from medicines like metformin that help lose weight, good diet, good exercise, good stress management and good sleep of 7 to 8 hours per night, fat people can lose weight to slim down and be more healthy. I say this as a fat person losing weight to become more healthy.
      Tl, dr: Fat people have to lose weight to bring down their HBA1C numbers. End of story. 😊

    The problem with the Standard American Diet is not a too high percentage of carbs (around 50%). The problem is the sources people get their carbs from; refined grains, soda and ultra processed foods. Carb intake in the traditional Blue Zones diets is about 65% but it is from foods like whole grains, beans and starchy vegetables. These populations live a very long time and don’t have a problem with diabetes and overweight. Restricting these foods is a big mistake from a long term health perspective. The key to normalizing blood sugar is to lose weight until you are below your ”personal fat threshold”. Se research by Roy Taylor.

    My A1C is 5.4, but my fasting glucose over the past 7 years has been 98-124. I bought a glucose monitor, and my result is always over 100. Most times it is 112-115. It doesn’t matter if I’ve fasted or if I’ve eaten. Does this mean my insulin is not working? I also have not eaten sugar or processed foods since January of this year, and also watch my carbs (and have included intermittent fasting). I’ve lost only 8 pounds in 9 months. I workout everyday for 40 minutes, including strength, cardio, and balance. I just started taking Berberine, so I’m hoping this might help? This is maddening, because my husband started eating and exercising like me, and lost 30 pounds in 3 months. 😢

But I’m 58, and the female body can’t recover from exercise like it did when there was a lot of estrogen. I can’t take hormone supplements because of a history of breast cancer in my family. My AST was high after taking Berberine, so the doctor told me to stop. My doctor actually told me to stop worrying about the last few pounds, but I want them gone. It’s frustrating.

    Walking does not lower HBA1C. It only lowers glucose levels prior to the next meal. You can walk all day and still have high A1C levels.

    • @preoccupied4800
      @preoccupied4800 6 месяцев назад +5

      HBA1c is a measure of the average over the last 3 months. So if you are consistent for that period you will see a decline and that will continue going forward (all other things being equal) So if it works prior to the next meal, and you do it every day, it must make a difference.

    • @boltnut55
      @boltnut55 5 месяцев назад

      It's a numbers game :) Walking may help it not rise to 180 - 200 or whatever, so over time, it'll decrease that average. One can hope. And if not, at least folks got some walking done.

    • @1983maya
      @1983maya 12 дней назад

      Walking does lower HBa1c. I have personally seen it with my relative. They were taking metformin regularly 1 tablet morning and evening, they were eating millets in their lunch and dinner and walking everyday for 1 hour for 3 months, their hba1c came down from 10.4 to 7.5. Any exercise done everyday be it walking or strength training or climbing stairs helps reduce your HBa1c. Hba1c is nothing but the average blood sugar you had in your body for past 3 months. If everyday for past three months your blood sugars didn't shoot up and down crazily, then the average is also going to be a low number. Obviously eating lots of sweets lots of processed foods everyday and then expecting that walking is going to bring down blood sugars is foolish thought. How well we eat, how well we exercise, sleep and manage our stress tells how well our blood sugars will behave. 😊

    Thank you for the information. What is the best time to check your morning glucose? I get up around 6:15 am, should I measure it at that time? I never eat breakfast, so should it be measured maybe two hours after I wake or just before I am ready for lunch at 11:00? I only eat two meals per day, but it's still confusing. The reason for this question is because we all have rising glucose levels just before we wake up, I think this is called the "Dawn Effect". My thought is that if you measure your glucose level within a few minutes after you wake, it will not be accurate. You can't be certain that your body is outside of the Dawn Effect window. Any thoughts?
