After our last video on sad boss fights, you lot put tonnes of excellent examples in the comments. Here are just a handful of them. Be warned: there will be tears. 😭
If you do another video like this, Zeke in Infamous 2, evil ending.
"Half as long..."
"...Twice as bright."
To be fair half of the bosses across all of the Kingdom Hearts series could be on this.
I get it, Bloodwing in Borderlands 2 is too sad to even talk about in a video. I agree with you.
hoi boissss
Not technically a boss that makes you cry but the tone: jenova birth, final fantasy 7, end of disk one. Aerith's theme playing during fight.
"It's normal for siblings to fight. It's just usually not with lightning."
Azula disagrees.
Or fire :D
"I'll show you lightning!"
YES
THK is tehnically ghost's Brother right?
no she's crazy and has to be stoped
Whoa whoa Paarthurnax is an optional boss fight at that point you're just hurting yourself
Yea if you chose to kill him then you’re the monster
Not even optional, you straight up choose to fight him
Ikr
@@cacs2201 that is what optinal means though you can chose to fight or not fight him you do not have to hence optional
Killing Paarthy is a sin
Hollow knight is my favorite game, and seeing that scene everytime breaks my heart, I would also like to two point out about the broken vessel's battle was also sad, seeing that it's body reached out to the knight at the end of the battle. Which was sad too.
What's more sad is that the Pale King built a fucking city under a lake
Ye, it was heart wrenching to see the broken vessel reach out!
its even more sad when you learn later in the game that your siblings
And yet, that somehow makes it such a good game. It's not edgy, its sad. It views death as a tragedy and something that should be mourned. And not just for characters that are your friends. For people you don't know, for people you don't like, it's still awful.
for me the saddest moment is facing Uumuu, because it marks the end of Quirrel's story. The first time I realized what happened to Quirrel I cried for about 20 minutes, and I'm about to just thinking about it.
Never got past Papyrus in the genocide run. His unwavering faith in me had me sparing him right then and there. I could never bring myself to do it, despite multiple attempts.
Papyrus kinda has that effect on people

@@vceisdead same, and despite my many times going through it, I still feel terrible for it

Sora vs Roxas is pretty sad...
But... Roxas vs Xion is pure sadness
YEAH
THAT FIGHT WAS FUCKING DEPRESSING
I COULDNT GET OVER IT AFTER PLAYING 382/5
Agreed, while it hurt that Roxas was unable to continue living or keep his promise to Xion.... The fight leading to Xion's death hurt far worse cause he had to fight one of his best friends and in my personal opinion...someone he unknowingly loved. NOTHING hurts worse than someone you love dying in your arms, especially when you know it was by YOUR HAND they was struck down.
Regardless of the fact she forced him to do it in order to save him from being tossed aside like a pawn who outlived it's usefulness. She knew Xemnas was going to do it too, he didn't care who won, in the end he still got a powerful keybearer for his Organization....or so he believed at the time. Not counting on Riku stopping Roxas and helping DiZ imprison him to reunite with Sora later on.
They definetly shouldve put roxas returning in kh3 on this list. Shit made me remember my childhood HARD.
The battles of
Roxas / Axel
Roxas / Xion
And
Roxas / Sora
All of them kill you
@@CrucialSlimm this was before the release of that game
Sif from Dark Souls.
Good boii was only protecting his master's final resting place and we killed him
Yes
So sad
Her. Sif was a girl
Yeah I wish we didn't need to kill her and we could instead have her help us in the final battle of the 1st dark souls and she attacks the villain via suprise attack
You know what makes the whole thing worse. We know Sif from earlier in her life. We see and help save Sif. If you haven't done the Sif fight before you help save her, you unlock another cutscene where she recognises you, and howls, before picking up her Masters sword. It makes an already sad fight, even sadder. Sif is best pup.
3:28 I really thought she was talking about corona an entire year early
Hollow Knight? More like COVID Sucks and Everything is on Fire Knight
If you think defeating Roxas was sad, try 358/2 Days when you're playing AS him defeating Xion! She was the second character, in games, I've ever cried over! First one being Elizabeth in Bioshock Infinite
That was literally the only boss fight I've done that I was in tears while doing.
Ever.
"STOP HOLDING BACK" sealed that for me
If they do another for this theme, THIS needs to be on there! far more emotional than the Roxas fight I thought
I remember that fight. It was the first moment for a long long time that I actually shed a tear at a characters death in a game
Paarthurnax? That's weird, I remember there only being one option to that Blades quest, forsaking the Blades for even suggesting that I fight my cool dragon friend. THE ONLY OPTION.
Exactly!
Yeah I even went ahead and tried to kill them after they asked me to do that. But they are immortal ;(.
You can mod a choice to kill the blades instead :)
Ya, kinda don't get the blades. I was expecting an option to tell them to shove off but we didn't get it. If the quest is still in your inventory talk to agnar or what ever his name is and tell him you wount kill parthanax and the quest will complete.
Yup
At least 5000 hours in on Skyrim, never killed Paarthurnax.
He ain't heavy, he's my Dova Kin
Is that a big ass rock reference
Yes but did you know Super Mario does his voice?
@@tonyAJ420 You shouldn't stab Mario. (The voice actor's name is Charles Martinet.)
@@tonyAJ420 Well that's just another reason not to kill him
I was upset for years that I had to pick when I played on 360 for the first few times. I always picked the side of Paarthurnax, screw the Blades... went back and shouted them off a ledge once or twice for good measure. Then came the glorious day when I bought the GOTY edition on PC after selling my 360 and low and behold a godsend of a mod called "The Paarthurnax Dilemma"
Lets you tell the Blades to piss off while maintaining your good standing with them
I still don't like the entire idea of that choice ebing forced though. I'm Dragonborn, I'm in charge. Respect mah authoritah
The worst bit about paarthurnax is that when you chat to him about killing him, he tells that it’s probably in all fairness, a good idea because to fight his destructive nature is a constant struggle, and he doesn’t know if he’ll one day succumb to those desires.
"You were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!"
"I HATE YOU"
The Roxas boss in Kingdom Hearts 2 hurts more when you already know the story from 358/2 Days.
Rafael007 I agree it gets emotional when playing kh2 knowing what happened
yeah... another would be fighting terra. wich was also kinda rough.
but i bet i can top roxas.
how about Xion. knowing that roxas has to end her life in order to get sora back. read more if u dont care about spoilers.
or in kh3 when u finally realise that after beating xion and roxas it wasnt so bad because they all came back :D
There's also a little bit in re:coded where roxas confronts data sora about the meaning of true pain.
And in ddd roxas is acknowledged by sora as a person, an existence
Rafael007 pain is knowing who roxas is
true pain is playing / watching 368/2 days then beating him
Personally I partly agree with you but I think the more painful fight was in 365/2 and it was against Xion(or Zion)
"If you ever even consider killing Paarthurnax, youre dead to me"

@@silaswalton3366Papyrus's death was sad and all, but I agree.
You know, its funny. This video was what inspired me to learn more about hollow knight, and now its one of my favorite games, all because I thought "hey that fight is sad, but in a very real way and its not a metaphor for something. I wonder what the rest of it is like."
So thank you outside Xtra. You helped me find a game I truly love and I'm very grateful for it
Jane's 'anti-fidget spinner and other viral sensations' wrath is both relatable and terrifying. I suppose we should be grateful it gives her something to concentrate her powers on...
And it is a worthy cause. Fidget spinners are an abomination to society
Well After Many months watching outside Xbox and Outside Xtra i need to say that Jane make a excellent Absolute ruler, Sure she isn't Nice, but she had her reason and they are good enough for me.
on other side, i have Fear of Ellen, she look and sound like someone that would hurt a Spider... but I am sure she can be more brutal that Jane Douglas.
Ironic, isn't it? Fidget spinners were meant to help students who have trouble paying attention in class, eventually became a reason why students were getting distracted.

I heard Hollow Knight's death scream, suddenly remembered the requirements of a Vessel, and immediately went *"OH, 'NO VOICE TO CRY SUFFERING' MY ASS-"*
I think it's because it's the Radiance's scream, you also hear it when you fight her
@@arthyem21320 Yeah, it is. Pure Vessel is completely silent. Some people like to try to be funny but display 0% knowledge.
Pure Vessel's voice is barely audible but you can hear it at the beginning and end of the boss. I think. Idk I haven't played in 3 years.
Great Grey Wolf Sif, Dark Souls 1. His intentions aren’t even to protect Artorias, it’s to protect you. He was given the Covenant of Artorias Ring so that no one would ever try to traverse the Abyss again and become corrupted by it like Knight Artorias. In fact, if you play the DLC before you fight Sif, the cutscene is extended and he will jump on you, but recognize your scent and your face, then forlornly go pick up Artorias greatsword in his mouth and turn to face you. He doesn’t want to fight his buddy but he has to
Yes its awfull

That was in the first video before this one
Sad boss fight, and same with Gael from DS3. Gael is merely trying to get the dark soul for his lady (the small girl in the Ariandel Chapel.) Also, it’s basically the last fight in the Dark Souls series ever...
Fuck yeah sif is just a good dog
Can we please get a video of Jane destroying a load of fidget spinners? I'd watch that all day long 😂
Matthew Hardwick I will mail them all the ones my wife has confiscated as a teacher if they want.
I second this... Make a video and I'll upload a 10 hour version of Jane destroying the spinners xD
Please please please have Jane do a video like that. That would make my day.
And so... a new fetish has born!
I celebrated after every hard (basically just every single one) boss fight in genocide, but the only one that made me stop and reconsider my actions was Muffet. That one little spider laying a flower down in remembrance of Muffet really hit hard.
So, a spider made you feel remorse, but not PAPYRUS?? You monster.

one of the most agonizing for me was Nishiki in yakuza kiwami. After playing zero and actually seeing Nishiki's backstory (compared to the original Yakuza where he basically didnt have one) that fight was like being crushed under a giant lead weight
Yakuza 1 and 2 had some of the most heart wrenching boss fights I've ever seen. Fighting Nishikiyama at the end of 1 was difficult enough after playing Yakuza 0 for so long. It wasn't helped when he sacrificed himself to kill Jingu. Yakuza 2 had the last fight against Ryuji Goda. Those games were incredible in how they managed to turn someone who starts the game as your worst enemy into someone you respect and even sometimes admire
"Professor Cephalopod"? Why not shorten that to "Professalopod"?
I'm not sure how to feel about this being top comment (at the time of writing).

I was thinking Cephaloprof
Aaaaaaand.. this is why they went with Doc Ock
I know we already have Sans AND Papyrus, but I recently finished the True Pacifist Ending of Undertale. And the most difficult boss to fight was-
SPOILER ALERT
... King Asgore. He literally lost him adopted child AND biological child due to humans, and his wife left him since he declared war on the entire human race. He killed every human that fell underground until he got seven human souls. And your character happens to be the seventh human that fell down. The reason Asgore needed seven human souls was because with the willpower of the souls, he will gain the power of a god, and punish humans for the pain they've inflicted on monster-kind. Dark, right? Anyways, when you encounter him, the thing that really makes you fell bad is that he really is a nice flower-loving, soft-hearted guy, and doesn't really want to fight to, but feels that he has to for the civilians of his kingdom. This backstory, on top of the very large difficulty, make this boss amazing, yet VERY, VERY sad at the same time.
Yeah I thought he would be put on the list
Fair point however i feel Toriel's is worse on the neutral ending.
After helping you at the beginning til the end.
Her husband is dead, her son is long gone and you - the potential last bridge between humans and monsters making peace- is the cause of the damnation of the underground society.
You who so strongly reminds Toriel of the first child ( Chara) that she adopted , placed her remaining hope and trust in to bring the king, her husband to his senses and peace between two races. Gone.
Goat Mommy :'(
the gateway to escape the monster underworld - now sealed like the fate of the remaining monsters you haven't killed.
Unlike Papyrus - do you think Toriel could ever believe in you again? the damage thats been done cannot be undone - in that timeline ;)
Nah asriel was SHIT LOADS MORE HARD!
ECreepie899 Well tbh all the goats (Toriel, Asgore and Asriel) were the saddest.
I feel me
The Roxas fight hurts even more, if you played KH 358/2 days, because you play as Roxas the entire game. And the plot is rather good, despite the bad gameplay. It sets him up as quite a tragic fight :(
@@osric729 whether intentional in forgetting her name and mirroring the boss fight or not, Xion was her name.
I think people are overlooking a very sad, although often very seldom seen fight from Undertale that I consider the saddest. Second Neutral run, King Asgore, killed Flowey the first time. Flowey kills Asgore in the original neutral run and if you kill him he doesn't appear like he usually does in the second neutral run. This leads you to believe that if you fight Asgore again you will be able to spare him and Flowey won't be there to kill him. Thing is Flowey WAS still there, but being a being that can remember anything other than a true reset he changed his actions so he never interacted with you. But what is so heart breaking about Asgore's second fight is that even though he could... Flowey doesn't kill Asgore and destroy his soul the second time around. Instead you get to see just how broken Asgore is. He gets to the part about adopting you and taking care of you, being a family again with Toriel as your mother... but then stops himself, and says no he can't do that... because he can't live with what hes done. He believes so firmly that he doesn't deserve happiness that he commits suicide right in front of you because of his guilt for killing the other 6 human children that fell, because of how much pain he felt from the loss of Asriel and Chara, and then his wife abandoning him when he was going through so much pain and grief.
You see Asgore laid completely bare, broken and miserable. Unable to believe he deserved any other outcome than his own death a repentance and relief from his burdens and pain.
Psychological speaking that specific instance is most bewildering moment in the game. The only other one coming close is Sans when you realize he is suffering from depression the entire time hes fighting you, That him a nihilist who from all in-game lore points towards him being depressed is still giving his damnedest to try and stop you. After all the lore states that the stats of a monster are determined mainly by their emotions. Atk - Determined by a monsters desire to inflict harm upon the one they are attacking, def - determined by a monsters desire not to be harmed, hp - determined by a monsters desire to live... Sans has 1 in each stat. He does not want to hurt you, he wants to be harmed, he wants to die.
Guys, the pick for NieR wasn't bad but the REAL sad fight was the last one. The REAL last one. Not only you have to fight a character you have been encouraged to get attached to, but you know there is no point in doing so.
Or Eve, who is crying because you took everything from him. Or either of Emil's fights, both featuring a crying Emil.
The fight against Eve make me so sad i took 1 week after finishing my first playthrough to play again
@@ChrisMorray Emils last fight made me cry so hard I had to pause the game cause I was about to die
So many sadder fights than Simone's. Emil, A2, 9S, all 3 are so much more sadder.
The very last fight no matter who you pick is still way too depressing.
ROXAS BROKE YOU?! HOW COULD YOU FORGET XION IN KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 THAT ONE WAS SO MUCH WORSE
I was about to comment that. Not only do you have to fight her in 4 phases, but the last one is the saddest. Like it's not that difficult but her screams when she attacks you. God, it still makes me cry...
Thank you I wanted to comment that but I forgot her name it’s been so long but it still makes me cry thinking about the last cutscene and her goodbye
Everyone forgot Xion
That's kind of the point
the dramatic irony of these guys forgetting xion

FINALLY THEY TALK ABOUT THE HOLLOW KNIGHT
Okay, bringing back the memories of my Undertale Genocide actions. Man I keep avoiding to kill him but I have get that ending.( Still haven’t finished it! )
Oh The Hollow Knight fight. Where do I begin?
The pale king created hundreds of vessels in hopes of creating on completely void of emotion. He thought that The Hollow Knight was perfect for this but little did he knew that he wasn't perfect. The Hollow Knight was locked away with the infection inside him. Years of suffering, trapped away by his own creator only to be destroyed by one of his siblings.
This fight made me cry.
Not to mention the even worse fight ending where you don't dream nail the hollow knight and slap hornet like an absolute idiot.
(For those who don't know: Hornet is the protector of hallownest and helps the knight once it proves itself. She is also a sibling of the vessels, as pale king was her father. So: On the fight with hollow knight she can help you once you weaken the boss. She can't stay at the arena too long. So, she holds the boss so that you can access his dream realm to fight the source of the infection - the radiance. However, you can hit the hollow knight and she will fall off, bringing you a worse ending, just because hornet becomes a seal and you take her down with you.)
Everything about the vessels in hollow knight is sad. I get depressed everytime I watch the scene in the abyss with the pale king throwing away all the useless vessels. They were his children!
The pale king gave BIRTH to the vessels
I'm gonna guess you love hallow knight I wont judge scinse I fricking love hallow knight

The final boss of arc 1 of Wizard101, Malistaire. True, he is completely insane and is attempting to awaken the Dragon Titan, a threat to the entire Spiral (the in-game universe) during your boss fight with him, but he’s only doing it to bring his dead wife back to life. Not only that, but when you finally defeat him, his final, dying words broke my heart as he moans about how he failed his wife, and how he had done so much to return her to life.
I never expected to read about this game here.

2: when he doesn't notice that you're a human, it's because you're such an evil person that they see you as a monster (not their type, but just a cruel thing)
What about nazeem
Truly was a shame that we were forced to kill him and his family while teabagging his corpse so we could continue the game
Lol! It would be funny if he came back to life if you didn't teabag him.
THE FBI Hell no!!!!!!!! Screw nazeem! He eats babies!
@@charxeleon6313 let's be honest who doesn't
kylie caperton that’s...concerning
Do you get to the cloud district very often? Oh what am I saying, of course you don't.
“I don’t get it either and I played both games”
“there are 12 games”
“Dear God”
(Silently looks at Kingdom hearts X and UX and chooses not to say anything rn)
Flow motion can kiss my 🍑
I felt this so many times every time someone complains about KH having 10+ games
Noir Lilbomber they don’t really count as they aren’t exactly canon
The Spy149 they are canon tho, just set wayy back in the past.
The Spy149 hate to break it to ya but yes they are 100% canon to the overall story
I’m not entirely surprised no-one mentioned the final fight of Crisis Core… because it’s technically not a boss fight but that’s definitely one of the roughest fights I’ve done in a game, emotionally.
I’m just imagining Luke disappearing into a dragon hatred conspiracy theory hole like his namesake venturing into the cave to face Vader. Brilliant.
If you have ever killed Paarthurnax. Heed my words. I don't like you.
I kill him every time those thousands of innocent people he killed deserve to be avenged
I killed him once for roleplay purposes in my 10+ full playthroughs of all major quests and I cried doing it. Fuck that he doesn't deserve it. He even betrayed Alduin by teaching mortals how to shout. The 'blades' are disgusting.
I just dont get it why to kill him, I wouldnt even kill him because he is the only dragon who could ever be useful to everyone to understand how dragons work. And he didnt do anything wronh in my opinion, he killed ppl yes, but he is a fucking dragon its in his nature, because still he is a FuCkInG Animal brah
-DephtCore
-TheOneWhoKillsEveryoneInAllTownsAfterTheyArentUsefullAnymore
I didn't even complete the game cuz I didnt want to kill him.
@@EdenTGG it's not mandatory to kill him in order finish the main quest. The quest continues but a new side quest starts when you kill him. They make you believe you HAVE to but you actually have a choice.

Me: So that makes it a...Hollow Victory?
Wait, did Ellen make a fake account just for more puns?
hollow victory
The final battle with xion in kingdom hearts 365/2 was absolutely heartbreaking. Even if she was a puppet.
I was scrolling through my suggested videos, saw this, and even though I'd already watched it, I read the title as "I SAID BOSS FIGHTS!"
You think Sora's fight against Roxas is bad? You clearly haven't played 358/2 days, where Roxas has to fight Xion, who was his friend until DiZ manipulated her into not seeing any value in her own life outside being absorbed by Sora, and I still haven't forgiven him for it.
ya thats way worse lol
I came here to say this! Not only does he end up killing his friend is that he's faced with the knowledge that he will start to forget about her existence and there's no one else left to remember her.
I played 358/2 days once, and despite my love of Kingdom Hearts I can never play 358/2 days again because I'm not ready to face those tears again.
Who is Xion? We have no record of that character ever existing in the Kingdom Hearts universe...
@@outsidextra har har
but seriously maby you need to do a commenters edition part 2 cause there so many that fit that bill
Ah yes, Nier: Automata, where you play as 2B, or not 2B.
You made me giggle

That's a good joke on so many levels.
Too many levels.
12:32 I have completely forgotten about this music. Totally and completely. Like even now hearing RIGHT NOW it I don't remember it.
And I literally hear only this part... and I start to tear up. Wow.
The hollow knight one got me because theres a theory that the hollow knight is the son of the knight you play as
I know I'm a little late to this one, but isn't this contradicted by half the game, which is implying more of a sibling relationship? Both presumed kids to the Pale King, who I think can be found in the White Palace. He seemed pretty dead when I got there, though. Just slumps over when you take his half of the Kingsoul relic.
I think my favourite bit of fan made media is the one where Frisk breaks down when Papyrus spares them.
... Right in the feels...
I've not seen that one, but I've seen a depressing animation of the same scenario, with Sans.
The animation is called, "The Last Sentence."
What if we got a reverse version of this: Boss's who we were glad to destroy? Not in the "Bowser is the villain so I have to kill him" way, but in the "Die you ******* **** ****" way.
Lucien from Fable 2. The cannibal guy from The Last of Us.
Immediately thinks of Kai Leng from Mass Effect 3. THAT WAS FOR THANE YOU SON OF A %ITCH!!!
a andrew ryan bioshock,
Di Ravello just cause 3
ALDUIN skyrim
i can go on there are so manny ****** bosses
Malus from SOTC
Nyx from persona 3, chaos from final fantasy dissidia, almost any final boss from the Kingdom Hearts series...and dont forget Darth Malak from KotOR
Another layer to the sadness of the hollow knight battle I that the moment the hollow knight starts stabbing himself the theme changes to the more somber part
How dare Ellen make those philosophy joke after just going over a scene that voltaired my heart out.
AQUAAAAAAAAAA.... Seriously every hit of my keyblade i was like, "I'm sorry" "I love you" "PLEASE don't hate me"
What is it about Kingdom Hearts that makes friends murder friends?
For reference, he's referring to the Anti-Aqua boss fight in Kingdom Hearts Three where SHE GIVES YOU A HORRIBLE GUILT TRIP FOR LEAVING HER THERE BLUEBERRY MOM I'M SORRY!!!
I didn't even feel a shred of guilt in that fight
I was not fighting against Aqua
I was fighting FOR her
@@Konpekikaminari Same. I didn't feel sorry. It was for her own good.
Beating sense back into a friend is nothing to feel guilty about.
Spoilers for Nier Automata:
I think fighting 21O as 9S was even more heartbreaking. The operators are so cute and pure, I’m just forever grateful we didn’t have to do the same thing with 6O 😭
Also fighting 9S as A2 and vice versa
Me Not Having Played Nier Automata: The fuck is this Algebra shit
Honestly the saddest part in the game (in my opinion) is finding out that Paula and devoula were the only kind to their android models never scraped but lied to and stuff and they also were the ones responsible for humanitys extinction they tried to make up for it but they end up dieing.(obviously I dident tell their full backstory)
Yeah, although if the stars align (translation: if you do certain quests) you can talk to her at the bunker during it's final moments. Never done it myself, but I have seen it.
Edit: Talking about 6O btw
Grey wolf Sif from DS1 broke my heart. Especially when he had a sliver of health left and started to limp. Devastating. 😢
i really played the roxas fight around 30 times since i love the battle and the theme of it it was just so heartbreaking and warming and its said that nobodys dont have feelings but roxas and axel broke that rule
I knew Undertale would be in this one.
This makes me sad...
Alexa, play *Megalovania.*

@@kairoikki6981 50 Years later would still be to soon!
@@kairoikki6981 YES OH YES!
Oh yes... All of them are so bad because you spend so much time getting attached to your partner and getting into the story. For me the worst for heartbreaking moments is Explorers of Darkness/Time/Sky. Dusknoir's battle near the end of the game gets me every time with Grovyle's sacrifice. I spent months IRL having him in my party and beating dungeons with him. And as if that wasn't bad enough, go through the final dungeon and after beating the storyline you're rewarded with another tear-jerking cutscene where after your character disappears the games goes on to tell you of the aftermath with your partner making sure you aren't forgotten.
Frosted Foxes I believe Explorers of Darkness and Time didn’t come out until 2008 or 9 and Sky was a year or so after that.
"When there's a viral outbreak consuming your entire population..." Jane could you not predict the future again please? >.>

Easy, talking about Parthurnax, one sentence, 3 words: "F*** the blades"
Agreed. And I've never even played Skyrim, but I can agree. Everybody loves that game for a reason. And it's a good one.
F**k Paarthurnax he’s a war criminal
@@Twilight24682 ew a paarthurnax hater. Paarthurnax is the best man
Parthurnax: Is a wildly powerful nigh immortal monster capable of ravaging the countryside, yet chooses a quiet life of meditation and even directly assists the dragonborn despite knowing full well he's all about slaying dragons. To that point, he even allows you to learn some shouts for free just for being friendly with him.
The blades: Stole your reward after a long and arduous dungeon, holds it for ransom unless you join them. Further, it's a bunch of curt, surly racist bastards who aren't above killing, betraying, and manipulating others just to get to their end goals. That end goal is ridding the world of dragons, but they're willing to throw plenty of bodies on that pyre to get it done. Case in point, wanting to kill Parthurnax in cold blood despite his change of heart.
Yeah, f@#$ the blades.
For Paarthurnax, you can just download a mod that takes the old man and asshole woman of the blades's essential protection off, and you can slaughter them both proper to solve the quest. That way the good old Dragon doesn't die and the Blades are no more.
Saying the phrase “Halloween Nest” when noting the map killed me
