Jalan Surya Kencana was built by Governor General Daendels in 1808 and is known as Post Weg or Post Road. The Post Road starts from Anyer, a distance of 1,000 kilometers and ends in Panarukan. Then in 1905 the #bogorcity Government changed the name of this road to Jalan Handelstraat, during the independence era it was changed to Jalan Perniagaan. Then, Jalan Suryakencana was inaugurated by the Bogor government in the 1970s.
In 1853, Governor General JC Baud regulated residential zones or areas called Wijkenstelsel based on certain ethnic groups. The aim was to make it easier for the colonial government to control the community so that it did not mix with other communities. This policy prohibited ethnic Chinese from living in the city center.
