*This* is why you obtain wealth. It's not to get a yacht, a 10,000 square foot house in the Hamptons, or even a private jet: it's to have enough FU money that when an authoritarian asshat makes demands upon you that you can tell them to f off.
You don't even need a 1%-er level of wealth to do this either if you live modestly and within your means. You don't even need to be retired! You could get an asshat for a boss and tell them to f off and still manage to get by comfortably while looking for a new job.
