Ostap is one of my favorite designers. I like how comfortable, robust and different most of his knives are.
I like Ostap Hel designs, very unique. The Bestech Ivy I’ve always liked. I like that new WE Baloo as well I just wish it wasn’t $300.
Amazing review ! Thank you for taking the time to include so much detail in your videos
Ok, I’m definitely going to get one. Ostap designs are always good looking. I’m in.
For the money, this is a great offering. Hope Bestech keeps this up. 👍
I really like this brand of knife last night for the first time I used my Bestech Scimitar to cut up a bunch of cardboard and it performed flawless and I checked it later and it was still very sharp. Great knives I'm sure this will be Awesome as well.
Glad you like it, your support means a lot for us! Thank you!
Oh yeah, that is sweet. I gotta get me one, at least in part because Ostap Hel is my favourite designer.
Dang dude. I think this is going to be a real winner for them. Nice testing as always
Thanks for another good review & the budget blades $50 & under 👍👌
Look good. Love the design ❤
Thank you for your great video!
Looks nice. I haven't bought a bestech yet lol not even a Benchmade.
Do you have any advice or thoughts on this? I mean I have lots of Ganzos that look like this knife and they are great and cost $18 to $28 dollars.
I mean at 50 to 60 dollars kizer is just killing it. I have 5 of those.
I only have a few Knives that over 100 dollars and 4 in the 300 plus range.
I guess I am asking, should I stop buying the $50 plus knives because they almost all look the same this fall, the economy I think influence ) and just buy 200 or 300 dollar knives.
I think ganzo, eafengrow , setivien and sencut have spoiled me. They all make good to great knives at 40 dollars and below.
60 to 100 plus aren't that much better. There are exceptions of course.
I only have about 60 knives, so I was just wondering what you think or what the community thinks.
I have one civivi, a few cold steels, kizers, one hinderer fixed, one shieldon, one Loveless, one Randall, one BPS, a few Spydercos, one Buck fixed; to name the brands that I have.
Any suggestions. I was going to get a sebenza, but I forgot the finish date and they never called me when is was completed. Not happy with them.
Sorry so long a comment. Im just kind of stuck. Oh think I have almost every kind of steel, but magnicut, 3v ect.
Oh I think I have all the different types of scale materials.
I tried to make a diverse knife collection.
Thanks to anyone who reads this.
9 month knife collector signing out,
Leo
If one price range is getting boring or all looking the same I say switch it up some that’s what I do
@@Stassa23 thanks. I have bought a few fixed blades.
Maybe a joker or condor. Thanks for responding.
✌️🦁
Thanks. I subbed
Sweet 👌happy to have you
22 degrees? I usually see 17 and 20.
Pretty much all my knives are at 15 to 17 unless it’s one I abuse then I put a 20 on it 👌
I like those gloves
very attractive model. I do like Ostap Hel models, so not surprising i like this. Satin finish would be best for D2 in my opinion.
After seeing Larrin Thomas' steel test i can't imagine ever buying a D2 blade. There are just so many budget steels i'd rather have a knife made from, including cheap chinese steels like 8cr14mov. D2 has middling edge retention, but thats its biggest asset. It still has downright bad toughness and corrosion resistence. Its not that I dont like cheap steel, i love 14c28n. It sharpens better, and it is very durable and stainless. Despite not holding an edge as good as D2, it can hold much finer edges than D2, which actually ends up translating into similar edge retention anyways assuming you like sharp knives and not a thick chonky edge. For example, you wouldnt want to bring D2 down to 12 degrees per side like you can with 14c28n. The carbides in D2 are too big for thin edges and itd most likely be too chippy (unless its CPM D2, which is much more expensive). Regular D2 doesnt like fine polishes as much as 14c28n either. Its just toothier. If i want a toothy brittle steel for cheap id use pm60/asp60/Vanadis 60. Its dirt cheap because they make disposable mortician scalpels out of it. Its performance is probably most similar to Maxamet. Its serious stuff for ita price though. Even Kunwu started using it. They even used the mortician branded one lol. PM60 stands for Post Mortem lol. People assume it stands for Particle Metalurgy, but nope lol. It IS made with Particle metalurgy though. It is just not what the name stands for.
@@alexcrowder1673 Cool. Did not know that. Is pm60 available on the knife supply shops (alpha knife supply, etc)?
bangerrr!
At some point doesn't this under an inch per ounce really starts to compromise the strength of the knife. I feel this knife is kind of flimsy as if you push the blade halfway into something and twisted the back of the handle that you could trash it .I get that it's not built for strength but light duty tasks. but at some point knife has gotta be safe regardless of what task is doing.
Always liked bestech but that liner lock needs work.
I can’t decide if I like it. 😂
release on my bday wink wink everybody.
Size-ull
I'm tired of you too how about you put some s-35 on there smash 30 some m390 anything but D2
By the way best tech, oh stop hell, great job beautiful knife, crappy steel
Cool design stupid brand name "BestechMan" what the heck who came up with that probably sounds better in Chinese
