    Great video as always! No shots, only suggestions.
    Carpenter here. When showing the functionality of a wall anchor no matter what style, I think you should offer the demo with some sort of stock being pinched between the wall and head of the fastener. Just like you did with the small steel plate during the concrete cut section with anchor.

    8:30 For the dual sided blade, if the mount is symmetrical it will last about twice as long as a normal blade. Cut until the front side is mostly dull, flip it and use the other side. Even the dull former front side should cut backwards OK enough.
    So even if it costs more for having both sides cut with teeth, it should still be cost competitive..

    • @tjhladish
      @tjhladish 2 года назад

      The teeth go the entire length of the blade on the front edge, but not the back, because the back edge needs to be supported by the bearing. They're not reversible.

      @@duudsuufd 'No support from the bearing when going backwards.' You do realize that's not required, right? Even having the bearing on low cost jigsaws is a relatively newer fad, most jigsaws in people's homes don't even have the guide bearing. Turning blades around to cut backwards is an old hack, used for ages.

    Log splitter looked to be electric and even so something that small is no match for hard wood.

    • @binary10balls
      @binary10balls 2 года назад

      I disagree. That’s a very similar splitter to mine, which can deliver 4 tonnes (there is a 7 tonne model), and easily copes with the oak, beech and ash that I split in winter. So long as the wood is dried and you keep the knots at the opposite end to the blade, the wood splits along the grain no problem. It is electric, the motor pumps oil into a hydraulic cylinder which drives a hydraulic ram. It’s a great piece of kit and like most of the tools in this video it’s certainly not new.

    • @RyanDiederich
      @RyanDiederich 2 года назад

      @@binary10balls 4 tons is literally nothing, and would be stopped dead in its tracks by the sort of wood we split here. You are splitting old soft wood my friend. We have a 29 Ton and there are some logs it cant split!!!

    • @binary10balls
      @binary10balls 2 года назад +2

      @@RyanDiederich Again, I disagree. Like I said, I’m splitting oak, beech, maple, ash, cherry and sometimes eucalyptus. Softwoods are rare here in northern France. Before I got my splitter, I was using an axe, which is considerably less than 4 tonnes. Sometimes I still use an axe when making furniture. Seasoned, dry wood is no problem, but it is underpowered when it comes to fresh cut logs and knots. Also, these splitters are limited to logs of 50cm or shorter. Perhaps you need 29 tons for tree trunks.
