I know this video is 4 years old, but I figured I'd point out that you can check to make sure the inside of the hood is "solidified" in Blender without exporting by turning on backface culling. You might already be aware of this but I wasn't sure since at the end of the video you exported the object from Blender and imported it into Milkshape before pointing out that you can't see through the hood anymore, then ended the video. The context just gave me the impression that maybe you weren't aware of backface culling in Blender. Since it's been 4 years my comment might not be of use at this point, but if nothing else it can be a tip for people still watching this tutorial. :3 _For anyone who doesn't know, backface culling is an option on the menu you open by pressing N. Here's an image that shows where it is in 2.7, which is what version tends to be used for TS3 modding because of plugin compatibility:_ pbs.twimg.com/ext_tw_video_thumb/1196438566391439360/pu/img/unOjo5EFfQ-n-m0q.jpg
Okay, so I select two edges at a time using "C", hit spacebar in the object window, type edge, select "edge split" aaaaand...... nothing happens! The edges stay orange and, as far as I can tell, don't split. I've been doing some searching and it seems this is a problem a lot of other people experience too. Any ideas?
Hmm, yes. Do you have sync on? This is sometime an issue if you forget. Otherwise sometimes blender is being an ass and you gotta reload. Easiest is to contact me on my tumblr simplyimaginarypeople and send a pic of your blender.
Eikeeful First of all I must compliment you on your very clear and concise commentary in your videos. Secondly, my question is do you know when the data transfer step would come into play?
It does not come into play in this tutorial as this tutorial is for Sims 3, you do not do a data transfer. If you maje clothes for sims 4 you need to do a data transfer near the end as this is how you add morphs.
In.part it will work for TS4, so creating the clothes etc but with a TS4 avatar, but the rest I have no idea how TS4 works and what type of UV mapping they have

@@Eikeeful Are they suppose to stay orange after edge splitting them?
@@chadchadeaury6801 sometimes they do, often they don’t 😂

Do you have to do a Data Transfer Modifier?
No, as this is sims 3 and the data transfer is sims 4. Here you do morphs at the end with Meshtoolkit 😊

Thank you for responding.
Actually you don't need to press A to unselect everething, you can press the mouse scroll Whell and take what you did wrong!
will this work for sims 4?
