    A friend showed up with one of these that was inoperable. As usual, after viewing this I knew exactly what to expect. The owner is now a happier camper. Thanks!

    Always wanted to try a Shimano Triton but fell in love with the Daiwa Sealine series and never looked back

      These are two good companies that make very nice and competitive reels. Competition always helps. The mega conglomerates seem to lack that initiative and produce me too reels - Thanks

    Hello Dennis . . . Nice fishing reel - adjusting the free spool is some what
    tricky but to the person who will be using it they should get use to it - good video .

    Good evening Dennis.
    At one time replacing line was inexpensive, not anymore, at least for large reels.
    Smaller reels that can be filled with a 1/4 pound spool are inexpensive to re-line. A large reel which requires 600-800 yards of line or more can cost you over $200. When you get into the 130 class reels, (150 - 250 lb test) figure $700 for a mix of mono and braid.
    Ultra violet light is the culprit with damaging monofilament fishing line. Keep the reels covered and you can extend the life of the line. Braid is more effected by abrasion, so inspect your line at every use.
    Keep up the good work.

    Great Content! I have a question on a tld50. Actually 2 of them since purchased new. Drag is set to desired setting, however almost fully engages as soon as the lever is advanced out of freespool. Any idea what this could be?

      It sounds like the pre-set adjuster has been tightened. Do you lose max drag if you back off the pre-set?
      The other cause could be dirt and debris clogging the drag washer. It may need to be cleaned - Those would be my first guesses

    Hello, I have a 300 Mitchell myself. I took it apart to clean and fresh grease. I put it back together correctly but noticed when turning the reel handle the spool should so up and down constantly? Mine goes up and stays up for about 20 turns then goes down and stuck down for another 5 to 50 turns. The teeth on the gears look fine. The gear with the 3 nubs on the back that goes in the plate might be worn slightly. What could cause this?

      I apologize words are hard not a good explainer

      It would be the gear with the 3 nubs. remove the gear side plate and isolate the slide mechanism and gear. Turn the gear by hand. If it does not go up and down easily, your gear is mismatched to the slide bar. Raise the gear up and rotate it one step at a time until you can move the slide bar through the up and down range. If that doesn't do it, then one of your gears, probably the one with the nubs on it probably has missing or damaged teeth.

    Hi what is the preset nob spring do

    • @2ndChanceTackle
      @2ndChanceTackle  Год назад

      It sets the strength of the first strike and full drag on the lever. If you want less drag on first strike, you back off the preset and more drag - tighten - Thanks for asking - Dennis
