What I learned:
This is the closest he has ever been... for a little while.
He had such a good exit (although car in front is faster).
Start of lap 18 of 20 means less than 2 laps to go.

I know these guys are on another level, but it must be said, just the sheer strength to resist doing the absolute SEND in this track being that close to someone else for that many laps is an achievement of its own 😂

I'm Italian at min 6:00 he didn't say he was confident but he said: "qui ho perso la gara,sto andando pianissimo" which means "here I lost the race, I'm so slow" because he had to go box
The fact they do this type of strategy is a reason I think they should do at least 50% races, and what I personally would love to see is them do 100% with a full quali format as well, and at every track, but seen as you have competed yourself, it would be cool to hear your opinion on this

Honestly, I think they should all be in cockpit cam, seriously.
There must be a difference of 10-300ms on the starting moment depending on the client's internet speed. I think David suffered from low ping here.
I like lucas driving in cockpit view...it adds a lot to realism and IMO it's way harder (it's up to what one's used to but i find it more difficul usually)

F1 2020 is my first F1 game, i came from play GT Sport. Learning Monaco is hard even with a racing line assist but once you get a lap without hitting barriers and hitting those apex right, you feel like a god lmaooo

At a certain point David say (in italian) “i cant even stay close to him because he is lagging” lmao
This track is really a disappointment in this kinda competitive races cz if you can manage to defend your opponent just by 20%, the rest 80% will do the track itself for you. Just look at Tonizza, he had clearly better pace than Blakeley but just because of the nature of the track he couldn’t overtake him. This is really frustrating, cz you know you are faster but the track itself doesn’t mostly allow you to get passed others. Just be a sitting duck behind others.. And if you are gonna break the rules, most of the time you get damages or penalties just like Leigh got here. This track might be a historical one but I personally don’t support this track to be in esports competitions
Track to burn
That's the fascinating thing of Monaco. Track position is everything! We need variety
Singapore and baku are street circuts done right. Monaco offers litterally nothing interesting in terms of racing. Great, the track is narrow, so are formula-e tracks. The lay out is too small, the turns are largely uninteresting (really, that 1st gear slow af corner is fucking dumb), the tunnel is kinda cool but it's way too short. This track without it's history would be easily the worst track on the calander, even worse than the tilkedromes. I bet lucas could've gone a full 2 seconds slower and it wouldn't have mattered.
Explain how Leclerc made overtakes at last year's Grand Prix. Codemasters made the track extremely narrow in the game cuz you can overtake at almost every corner in real life. Even when he went around Norris at the hairpin proves that overtaking is possible.

I absolutely love watching F1 eSports, its so unbelievably satisfying and so much like the real thing. I've played competitive Call of Duty at quite a high level and have done some very minor level F1 Comp races and my mind is running so much more than any other game. Codemasters F1 is a beautiful game. Even in career I'm in a constant anxious state since I play with everything off and Ai 110. This game really puts you at the end of your seat. I love it.

You do make good assumptions and at the right times in your commentary/analysis, yet, there's some important and interesting details you miss. Cheers
