Awesome video, after watching this video I remember my childhood days during which I used to travel in metre gauge trains with my parents 🙂. Great effort Diesel Loco Shed 👍
nice capture of PARALLEL ACTION of MG VS BG...TOKEN EXCHANGE..SOOTHING MG HONKING AND SOUNDTRACK OF RAILBEATS.... .childhood days remembered...THANKS A LOT!
Simply wonderful and the final shots of the YDM4 are superb. The number 6280 of the loco takes me back to the loco 6287 which was used to work the fastest MG train in the South- the Vaigai express between Chennai and Madurai..I have travelled on the footplate in that loco so many times..this was in the 1970s. Also its brothers 6286 , 6130 6330 6336 and others I've forgotten. All have disappeared only BG locos.are now running due to gauge conversion....the charm of the metre gauge has gone. I really miss those days. I enjoyed the Lower quadrant signal mast still in service , the token exchange and the typical "whirring" noise of the YDM4 in 8th notch !!! Thanks for a lovely experience !!
One of the best and superb videos I have seen. Absolute essence of rail travel is portrayed wonderfully. And YDM4 6280. It's brother 6286 used to work the Vaigai Express from chennai to Madurai in the '70s. The first MG train in India booked at 100 kmph.
Thank you very much formaking me remember my old times. I have commuted for 7 years on meter guage from Bareilly to Baheri in UP. Of course in those days it was a steam engine type YP.
What a clarity of rhythmic track and wheel sound beautifully synchronized no musical equipment can give this along with the honking of the alco diesel loco and by the rhythmic sound the speed of the train seems to be reasonably high without struggling with much ease that's the power of diesel loco that ruled IRlys for more than fifty years initially the Alcoa and since 21 years the EMDs and now EMDs with dual cab hats off to IRlys
Very good MG action, this route seems to be from Gujarat,we get a lot of opportunity to watch MG,BG parallel action in this state, particularly from Ahmadabad to Ranuj, and Mehsana route, very interesting 👌👌👌
Thanks a lot for sharing this video with us 🙏 I am so unlucky, missed journeys like these but I am lucky enough, you showed us the MG and BG crossing and high speed MG journey. Indian Railways might have left the routes like these. 😭
Nice to see this video Crossing Overtaking Token Exchange at 2 Stations Train moving in curves I THE only thing that is missing here is track with mixed gunge Mixed gunge running between MysoreU JN and Ashokpuram till 2007 before being dismantled for laying BG track from Mysore JN to Chamarajanagar Now this entire stretch will be electrified shortly and we will able to enjoy electric train from CnNagar to Chennai
Its not only watching. Indian railways is a lifeline for all. Many people refers flight kya asmaan me urenge. Pr maza to zamin pe guzarte huye nazaro se milta hai..
wow, back then in the MG era this stretch was to be electrified but what happened thereafter. Similarly, from the British era, the MS-VM stretch was not only MG but also a doubled electrified line. So when BG conversion happened SR had it easier, laying BG lines over MG ones and conversion of MG electric to BG electric was also not difficult.
Rajan Varghese yeah if the pickup fails, then the train has to be stopped.. i guess the token exchange wouild usually happen perfectly..unless in some cases..
Usually, all goes fine, but at the speed the train is running especially the last spot, it would have been prudent to use the APU, to avoid injuries...
It's very bad that Indian railway don't care about metre gauge. Once metre gauge train used to run with the maximum speed in India. I should learn from Indonesian railway. .
Awesome video, after watching this video I remember my childhood days during which I used to travel in metre gauge trains with my parents 🙂. Great effort Diesel Loco Shed 👍
At 10:02 the WDP4 honking at the MG loco was the icing on the cake as it sped past the helpless WDP4..
nice capture of PARALLEL ACTION of MG VS BG...TOKEN EXCHANGE..SOOTHING MG HONKING AND SOUNDTRACK OF RAILBEATS.... .childhood days remembered...THANKS A LOT!
Thank you Diesel Loco shed, for presenting this awesome journey. The nostalgia, is profoundly felt.
Superb video of the bygone days of MG trains. Full of nostalgia

The second token exchange is amazing, if the pickup failed would the driver stop, and who will be responsible for delay? Why was it not done with APU?
Rajan Varghese yeah if the pickup fails, then the train has to be stopped.. i guess the token exchange wouild usually happen perfectly..unless in some cases..
