I lived in a van in an alley when I was 19, between a music store and a fire station. I dropped out of high school when I was 15. I was homeless and my van barely ran. I made a deal with the music store owner that I would work for him for $10 a day so that I could eat. I'm 47, now, I own a house, 43 acres of property and have a 2014 Toyota Tundra that's all payed off. I'm retired...at 47. I worked my ass off from that alleyway to where I am now. If I could do it, anyone can.

While i appreciate the truth behind the sentiment that many of us who have never set foot outside of Western nations have a very skewed idea of what "oppression" is, be-careful with taking that bit of truth and extending it too far as it can easily blind you to other truths.
Oppression is not something that is a totally black and white issue, it's a continuum. If I as a leader control what your allowed to say through threats and enforcement, we would all agree i am oppressing your freedom of speech. And i don't think anyone would accept it if my answer was something along the lines of "Yes, but in this other country the leader not only controls what your allowed to say, but what your allowed to wear/eat/own/etc so you are obviously not oppressed."
That doesn't mean that a large portion or even the majority of what get's labeled "oppression" here in the west, isn't just agenda driven rhetoric to score virtue points, or give you an excuse to be self-righteous and leverage your victim-hood to your own benefit.
I am an atheist but 100% support these artists.

Why can't the rest of the world do like you three do? You have discussions, you don't agree on everything, but you respect the other person's right to feel, think or believe differently. None of you try to shout the other down. You don't scream in each other's faces. OMG You act like adults. Loved your reaction and your respectful differences. 💖💖💖 Old phrase... "Those who do not learn from history are destined to repeat it." That is paraphrased, not an exact quote. I'm sure someone will fill in the blanks with who said it, and the exact wording. IMHO teaching about slavery and segregation is 100% necessary. So, we can keep it from ever happening again to anyone else. Editing out the harsh or ugly parts of our history only sets up future generations to make the same mistakes again.

I work with a lot of Filipinos and ask them what their wages are there compared to here, They enter the medical field and move here legally to support their families. A nurse in the Philippines only makes 150 a month if converted to the US dollar. Think about that a minute 😳
