The Hathor Temple at Denderah - A Ptolemaic Masterpiece

Built by the Ptolemies (starting with Cleopatra VII's dad) and finished under the Romans, the stunning Temple of Denderah is to many the most gorgeous in Egypt. It's striking blue ceilings with astronomical scenes, wonderful crypt and stairs to a roof make it so thrilling to explore. And its magnificent Hathoric columns - representing Hathor's favourite attribute the sistrum, a rattle used in festivals and the ward off evil spirits - are so stunning - This hypostyle hall was built by Tiberius!
