See that 'Roberts' on top again is great and i like other spanish riders too, Navarro, Vierge, Canet... But idk why I'm in love with this team and I hope they can achieve as many success as possible

    Really miss those days when American riders come straight from their domestic championships and be competitive against the Europeans in the world championship, held predominantly in the latter's own backyard.
    The last generation of riders I know have done such feat, are KRJR, Colin Edwards, and Nicky Hayden. Can't figure out why the newest generations in MotoAmerica are afraid to make the jump, when the championship itself is a strong proving grounds for talents.

    • @raynic1173
      @raynic1173 4 года назад

      If your not on a factory team it's hard to win and there are only a limited # of them a available that the whole world filters down to. Also, if your in the world (European) series you know many if not all tracks, which gives the euro riders an advantage, look at the caliper of riders that come up thru the MotoGP system, a lot of these kids are world class at 12 and 14 yrs. old. Some have tried, Maladin ( Aus. to US champ) Hopkins, Spies, Herrin, Gagne?. If you ani't totally dominating at home, there's pretty much no point in trying to do the 'world level' events. I also think the economy has an effect too, the US has had a hard time filling the grid with factory support and this year the 'factory' teams are being run by previous years satellite teams.

    • @wanr5701
      @wanr5701 4 года назад

      @@raynic1173 then how about leaving MotoAmerica for feeder series at European or International level like Moto3, Moto2,or even Ss 600? Feeder series are far more even in the playing field, making the need for factory support less needed and riders able to show their talents.
      It's incomprehensible to me that talents like Cam Boubier or Josh Herrin choose to stay home to be the front-runners, instead of challenging themselves by becoming also-rans at the higher level. Be big fish in small ponds will not make one better racer. For the record i do admire Herrin when he jumps from AMA to Moto2, and he actually leaves it too early instead of sticking around and fight.

      Back in the days American flat track riders could use their flat track skills to ride the GP bikes very effectively. The bikes responded to that style. Today's all bikes with all their electronics are just not responsive to that style so it doesn't translate anymore.

      But plenty of other Americans have won the world title...don’t forget Kenny Roberts (3), Freddie Spencer (2), Eddie Lawson (4), Wayne Rainey (3), Kevin Schwantz, and Kenny Roberts Jr.

    • @GoogleEqualsEvil
      @GoogleEqualsEvil 4 года назад +2

      Ridiculous nonsense. The man who started the power slide in MotoGP was 3 time 500cc MotoGP world champion, American Kenny Roberts in 1978. From an article on Kenny Roberts: "The motorcycle technology of the late 1970's featured engines with power in excess of what the frames and tires of the day could accommodate. Roberts riding style, bred on the dirt tracks of America, revolutionized road racing. Prior to his arrival in Europe, riders focused on attaining high entry speeds into corners, leaving braking until the last possible moment, then carving graceful arcs through the corners with both wheels in line. Roberts did just the opposite, braking early, then quickly applying the throttle which resulted in the rear tire breaking traction and spinning, thus causing the bike to slide. The resulting tire spin caused the motorcycle to buck and shake as it continually lost then regained traction, creating a brutal, violent riding style that no one had ever seen before on the racetracks of Europe. His riding style was reminiscent of dirt track racing, where sliding the rear tire to one side is used as a method to steer the motorcycle around a corner. Because of his early application of the throttle, he was able to attain top speed faster than his competitors."
      Kenny was a 2 time National champion flat (dirt) track racer before going to Europe in 1978 to compete in MotoGP.
