Having two employees at a time was something that came up a lot when I worked in a betting shop in the UK (We often worked alone). The excuse of not having 2 people working at the same time because it reduces profits is just absurd to me (although we were paid min wage and I know subways down here mostly pay min wage as well). 2 employees should be default because of health and safety measures. I know there are other safety measures in place if people were to randomly collapse at work. Like cameras and sensors to identify no movement. However if having 2 employees in the store makes it so your store will literally not make any money. Then you shouldn't be running a business to begin with. It does suck having to pay 2 people when there isn't any work for them to do, but equally forcing 1 person to work when there's a rush (2 peoples worth of work) is essentially the flip side to that. Equally the excuse of lack of customers means they are able to identify when it is and isn't busy, otherwise there wouldn't be periods with only 1 employee working. If they are able to identify when the stores gets majority of their custom then maybe they should just close the store during the hours they have identified it will be dead. I know these statement are a bit bold and I don't own a business myself, but i firmly believe 2 or more workers should be in the workplace at all time. Have to hard disagree on that one. Especially in the Fast Food industry, the main advantage compared to a regular restaurant is that you can be open for the full durration of a day without closing down, because you only have one employee. Also, just opening the store during the main rush hours and closing during the other time is throwing away a whole bunch of revenue and making work hours unattractive. @@NoFlu agree to disagree. You seem very head strong about your opinion. So I'm not going to attempt to changing it on a pricinple stanfpoint. However I still will say it should be illegal for employees to work alone because of health and safety reasons alone. I've simply just seen too many situations where people have injured themselves more than they should have due to not having anyone else available to help them. Heck it's only a handful of companies here who even have policies that allow lone working. (only worked 1 place that allowed it and you had to opt in). Most places have 2 mininimal AND some places even train at least 1 person to have emergency medical training. To avoid injuries or at the very least know how to see to an injury. So whether or not you agree to it, a lot of places already identify lone working isnt very health an safety friendly and avoid doing it.
Subway as a corporate couldn't have fired the girl, they're not gonna monitor hundreds of thousands of workers daily and globally. A subway store is owned by an individual person and he gets to hire and fire people, sometimes change up the prices and he/she see fit. Subway as a corporate didn't do anything wrong in the case, I don't know what exactly happened, maybe there are more to the story, but if they're protesting they should protest that particular store, not the corporate
To the children out there who don't understand, if you die defending the business or get injured it becomes a MUCH bigger issue for the business than if you just let them take whatever cash is in the till. Never fight back for your minimum wage job.

Its probably because if she fought back but got herself shot and maybe even killed they'd have to pay a heck of a lot more money in some kind of legal fees than if a person shows up and steals a few dollars from a cash register, still don't understand why she was fired though they could of just told her "hey dont do that anymore okay cool thanks" lol
It's called insurance and liability. An insurance company wants people to just hand over the money because it is the cheapest outcome. Even at a bank, the amount of money someone would get is less than what the insurance company would have to pay to cover medical bills for either the employee or the robber if something were to go wrong. The owner probably had to fire the employee so they didn't violate the insurance company's rules.
If I was in the situation and was able to out maneuver the man like she did, I would've taken the weapon from him, called the cops, and wait for them so I can hand off the weapon to them that way nobody gets hurt.
@@Froge4291 basically everyone. You are only allowed to use appropriate force to defend yourself. A firearm constitutes deadly force. Personally it would depend on the gun and the angle. If I was in a position to immediately be shot, I wouldn't fight back. But if there was an opportunity to pounce (back turned, gun down, distracted, or ect), Hell I'd take it. If it was a short range gun like a pistol then I'd run. Again though, it's better not to fight back unless they're trying to kidnap you. Subway Self Defense classes yo, they should be a thing
This is probably one of the very few times I agree with a cancellation. What she did wasn't exactly right, but she literally defended your store with her life on the line.

Hmm, subway was deemed innocent in the footlong lawsuit, the chicken lawsuit, both of the tuna lawsuits, and in this outrage. Doctor’s association just can’t get a break
Yeah of course you'd be fired. DQ Manager here. Literally every single job I have had in fast food has either had explicit training that states "Give them the fucking money" or a sign behind the cash that says along the lines of "In case of robbery, give them the fucking money". Every store has to be legally insured. I even will look my teenage employees in the eyes and tell them "If anybody seriously says to hand over money, you do it. You do it in a heartbeat. Everything inside this store is insured. They can literally take a gun and mag dump this store and I would actually profit off of it. Give them the money." We don't want heroes. We do not pay you to be a hero. No physical object in the world is worth your life. I absolutely would fire your ass immediately. We don't want the robber's potential friends making any moves on other people in my building. We do not know if this was planned. Now you go off and be a hero, and you put literally every single other employee including me and my own family at risk because you wanted to play hero and they wanted some form of "payback". If you think that this does not happen, I am very happy you live in an amazing place where things like this do not happen. It happens. Also robbing a store doesn't come with a life sentence. That asshole is going to be out in a few years and I'm still running this store. Least of all I come back to arson or heavy vandalism and more problems. Don't play a fucking hero, give them the money. It's insured out the ass for a reason.

Yass! We love the subway pov videos!!!

@itatchisasku Dude, he didn't mean it was wrong from a morality stand point but a safety stand point...
Context is important...
@itachisaskushe wasnt wrong, but she was taking a dangerous risk, you shouldn’t fight someone with a gun, just let them take what they want, then later let the cops deal with them.
Never fight back against a robber? That encourages more robbers. That's absurd. People have a right to defend themselves.
“$5 footlongs haven’t been a thing for like 10 yesrs” then why did they have commercials like 4 years ago for them lol
Damn bro, that women deserves a RAISE!!!

If you're ever in this situation, fight back! Never leave your well being to a person commiting a felony. So many comply and still die.
Actually, I would much rather be injured and have nothing than be dead (and still have things taken from my corpse). Fighting back isn't the best option.

To leave a woman alone in that store where the only defense she had was the robbers gun is the real saddening part
Ur subway videos do be bussin
if I'm being perfectly honest I would use reverse psychology I won't fight back, show that I'm crazy and that you don't want to actually try to rob me

whats next? mcdonalds gonna be cancelled because they see a employee giving 1 MORE BIT of SALT?
I got subway for the first time the other day, and wow that was good. Definitely have to go back soon!
The subway masters subway is gone...
If you can't afford to have at least two employees working at the same time, then you don't have a viable business and need to close.
clearly not
Hire only Super Ninja Sandwich makers. Problem sloved.
Wait, wtf. They are stopping a woman from earning money because she didn't want to lose money.
Subway is confusing
Life is confusing
The owner probably had to fire the employee so they didn't violate the insurance company's rules.
it wasn't subway it was a store owner
she did the right thing, if I am her I will fight back I will never let the robber do what they like and then call the police
people literally cancel others for no reason at this state
When milkshake posts it is always a banger
As if being "cancelled" actually matters
Especially for a multi billion dollar company with 60K+ locations around the world.
@@carlblaxland3640 lmao true
You can't blame the entire subway company but blame the store owner Instead of the entire company for this
Let's cancel an entire buisness because of the fault of one subway shop and ruin the lives of millions of people dependent on it.
Love you Milad. Can't wait to come to your subway one day Inshallah
If I was in the situation and was able to out maneuver the man like she did, I would've taken the weapon from him, called the cops, and wait for them so I can hand off the weapon to them that way nobody gets hurt.
Still quite unreliable to have someone alone with you while point a gun at them
But shooting them in the leg can make the situation safer
But the kicker is the adrenaline. The girl was stressed and freaking out and probably shot him out of fear
@itatchisasku what are they gonna sue me for? defending myself?
What country or state law is this for god sake
@@Froge4291 basically everyone. You are only allowed to use appropriate force to defend yourself.
A firearm constitutes deadly force. By using the fire arms you are saying that deadly force was necessary to protect yourself. If you don't shoot to kill you admit it wasn't necessary. You open yourself to a lawsuit. Just shoot to kill or don't shoot at all. Shooting at legs also increases the risk of missing and hitting bystanders significantly.
Wow😲
Love the story times 😁

I live by a simple rule, no job is worth risking my life for. But still, major props to this woman who defended the Subway shop she doesn’t even own. Firing her for being a hero is just plain bananas. Like, why?
I was actually waiting for u to finish the other sub 😄
Personally it would depend on the gun and the angle. If I was in a position to immediately be shot, I wouldn't fight back. But if there was an opportunity to pounce (back turned, gun down, distracted, or ect), Hell I'd take it. If it was a short range gun like a pistol then I'd run. Again though, it's better not to fight back unless they're trying to kidnap you.
Subway Self Defense classes yo, they should be a thing
I haven't been to a Subway in years, but watching your videos makes me hungry for a toasted veggie sub!

Hi
Thank god a subway vid
This is probably one of the very few times I agree with a cancellation. What she did wasn't exactly right, but she literally defended your store with her life on the line.
litterally the policy for most major food/ grocery company, very surprised ppl are outraged by this, its been around for at least 10 years now lmao. obvioiusly these companies can get hurt more by liability than any of there stores getting robed. blows my mind
I really don’t understand this whole “cancel” thing like it’s literally a thing that doesn’t exist

🇺🇲 tell your family and freinds to vote for Larry elder 🇺🇲 👍 this is our last chance to save california 🚨
Give them the money."
We don't want heroes.
Honestly I was getting verbally abused when I was working at subway honestly they need to get their stuff together

You never see McDs or Starbucks with only 1 employee. This is why you shouldn't have Subway every other block.
