just wondering - you don't claim to be natural, do you? I mean, not to be rude....but you don't get dime-sized acne on your arms by drinking designer whey alone.
only asking cause i just started getting back into lifting (after.....15 years)... and "fake natty's" seem to be all over the fucking place. drives me nuts. I doubt you'll have the balls (haha - get it?) to answer this question but I'm asking it all the same...
Dragaan do some research you fucking idiot. nock does claim natty and has a right to. pete moat definately does not claim natty. we will wait for you to recind your comment (cowardly)
He is! I competed against him in France and he was so nice to everybody, fans who wanted to take pics with him all day, easy going, and of course the killer performance at the end of the day. Real champion.
Taking steroids doesn't just magically make your deadlift 900lbs+. Don't discredit the amount of work put in just because he's used steroids, if it was that easy everyone on juice would be lifting like this and hitting big numbers but that's clearly not the case. Good job Pete, that's crazy for 245.
and strengthen bone mineral density, reduce joint breakdown, increases nitrogen reuptake, blows force generation out of the water, puts lean mass on bedridden people, increase muscle cell nuclei from 8 to 12, you're making it out like a dude on gear is just natural but can train an extra day per week lol. no.
Turtle man Aka the turtleinatorrrr lolololol derrrr no I'm not, increasing nitrogen uptake, reduce joint breakdown, strengthen bone mineral density all deal with recovery. I'm sorry a general statement went over your head peter aka seth aka not trey parker
Turtle man Aka the turtleinatorrrr lolololol derrrr You clearly have no experience other than google-Would love to see the study that steroids increased muscle cell nuclei from exactly 8 to 12, or how it would put on lean muscle mass to someone who isn't stimulating the muscle.
All that and you never even provided the source for the 8 to 12 nuclei number you tossed out there. "they were originally designed to put lean mass on people who couldn't move. burn victims etc." First, they don't shoot up paraplegics or people who 'can't move' with testosterone. Hormone therapy is used in treatments ranging from aids to cancer, as well as any diseases that it can aid to prevent muscle degeneration but in all cases they are all still capable of stimulating the muscle. Second, you're completely incorrect on the origin. Steroids never became a "thing" until WWII and then the Olympics (very clearly not for "people who couldn't move and burn victims"), and even before then the use of synthetic testosterone was for men who couldn't properly produce the hormone. Pretty bold move throwing the word 'tard' out there for such an uneducated dumbass.
Just going to say, this video inspired me to make my first good deadlift. I'm 12 years old, 80 pounds, and 4 foot 10. We were doing workouts in the weight room at my school, so I decided to try to beat my PB of 140. I lifted a 155, and was extremely happy. Thank you for the inspiration.
Michael Edgar no actually that itself, since like DreamEclipse said no natural human is that strong. It's more like ...the acne is additional evidence that isn't really necessary once you realize he uhh...deadlifted 920 @ 240. The acne is like fingerprints on a gun, the nearly 4x BW DL is like clear camera footage of the murderer firing the gun at the victim. Don't really need fingerprints when you have clear camera footage, do you?
Other elite deadlifters being 350+lbs isn't worth mentioning imo. Deadlift is the least bodyweight dependent lift and the most leverage dependent lift. Gain 50lbs and your deadlift aint' just gonna go up by default. Not taking anything away from pete, 920 is incredible for anyone.
You're right. This is also why the bigger guys usually squat more weight than they deadlift. It's also why Eddie Hall and Brian Shaw have shitty form. They're simply too big to get into proper positioning.
Pete's 250 lean and George was 350 and fat as a house, we're not talking about 100lbs of lean muscle here. And yeah what harleyzeth said is a great point as well.
It makes me sad not living in the nick wright guest videos anymore. It makes me sad not watching pete get to his levels of strength. Man this was the end of an era
+Brutus Harvenius Then you shouldnt be able to arch ur back in bench or have a wide stance in squat. So what we end up with is, no wider thn shoulder width stance in squat and no knees out cuz less travel distance shoulder width stance at most in deadlift no feet on floor in bench to prevent anyone from arching. The rule is that ur not allowed to minimize any distance traveled
fuck conventional, sumo looks even more badass anyways. It's actually even harder when performed in sumo, think of doing 920 on sumostyle. That would stress the fuck out of your hips!
You obviously don’t know much about powerlifting, sumo is most definitely not cheating. It’s a shorter rom but uses a lot less posterior chain, takes more practice, doesnt come as naturally, etc. this is all coming from a conventional puller
He is badass! But nick I believe is trying to get guys that are really big in the niche community. Like George, Pete, Eric, prolly Brandon lilly, etc etc
+sayianbone huh?? Who? Pete trains all lifts lol. His deadlift is his specialty so he doesn't squat often as he can still go into a meet and squat 700lbs so he doesn't care to train it. He doesn't want any hinderances for the dead, and he trains his bench just as hard. He's almost benching 500lbs

Good body type for deadlifting. Fairly tall but with disproportionately long arms and torso, makes the pull a lot shorter but still has good leverage. I don't care if he's on the juice. +Jay Hilton Not if you have short legs. The length of the pull is shortened and the torso angle is improved with a longer torso. See: Olympic weightlifters.
On his insta it says "21 years old, 255 lb, etc etc" maybe not in that order. One of his most recent videos showcases a 596lb bench with competition plates and it even looked legal in the IPF which is crazy. It was super clean.
I love how people in the comments are just saying steroids, why do y'all even watch powerlifting videos then? you obviously don't understand shit and are mad somebody sacrifices more than you to be stronger than you.
+jesse fay Nick isn't accomplished in the strength or size area but as a youtuber and fitness icon he's more then we will ever be and congrats to him for knowing how to manage himself and get into magazines
I watched this when it first came out and a few times since but only now have I realized how insane his body control is when he's lifting and his legs are shaking like crazy. How he stiffens them up and keeps them still is just unreal.
Yury Belkyn only 24 years old too and he did his PB with no straps 420kg in Russia couple days ago and he did in gym 461,5 kg with no straps and only think whats hes talking about right now is to put straps on and attack 500kg and looks like hes very confident!
Pete Rubish great, how tall are you? i can't get under the bar like you do on deadlift. you are pulling same way as eddie hall? i need to use my legs more i guess.. maxed out at 405 at 180 lbs (3 reps tho).. keep it up
Impressive. I think he has found the right combination. Extreme focus on proper technique, harnessing proper energy and not creating useless adrenaline dump. Having specific attainable goals. This "kid" has not even reached the maturity of his body yet. I would bet he sets the world record for the deadlift. Stay clean--- just another day at the office mentality will keep you safe and on point. Stay humble and keep working hard.
This is an old video.good to see Pete decided after this era to ease up on the gear.mustve been taking way too much during this time period.the acne and bloat were way out of hand.the other side symptoms were probably really bad.he talked about getting off teen and how dangerous it is.a little something for recovery is one thing but this was obviously too much.and thc kicker is that these days his numbers aren't that far off from this era.good thinking pete.
leeman did 907 for 4 reps touch and go, had 5 reps easy but pulled his spinal erector on the last rep. let's see a sub 300lb man do that. no hate, just saying the comparisons to leeman were unjust.
Kind of wish Pete could talk about gear. You could tell he was kind of bullshitting his way around it when nick asked what he attributed his insane progress in the last year to.
That is really impressive. He is lifting 3.75 times his body weight. Really Big guys like 6'9" Thor are only doing about 2.38 times their body weight. That's huge difference. He may be the strongest man in the world by weight ratio. Pound for Pound he is a lot stronger than Thor.
Josh Krawczyk not at all. The original commenter is comparing this guy to Thor, claiming that he is stronger “pound for pound” and saying how impressive that is. It isn’t a fair comparison because not only is Thor lifting more, he is also not on STEROIDS. So, not so impressive. Also, body weight multiples is a stupid way to compare strength.
Met Pete twice at Atilis Gym in Wildwood and EHT in New Jersey, humble and JACKED. Awesome video Nick. Pete is one of the best in the game. Would love to see a video with Dan Green or Eddie Hall
Mr Rubish it is a pleasure to see you mature into one of the best deadlifters in the world. You have came along ways from the "fuck that shit" yelling and it's great to see. Good luck tomorrow at the boss of bosses.
i think pete can no doubt hit 1000. When he lifted that 920, he held it up there for a few seconds and dropped it with some control, not just a slam, which shows he probably has a lot more strengh in him
He said that last year and has spoken about coming back on shortly after that. His arms have always had bad acne since he first started using more heavily.
+TraumaER aging is caused by the small amounts of dna that are missed during cell replication. Every new cell had slightly less dna than the original cell. If you're on gear your cells replicate a LOT faster, which is why your recovery improves. Faster replication = more dna loss = faster aging
I started deadlifting when I was 14 repping 155kg at 87kg, I'm now 16 pulling singles of 230kg at 94kg body weight. We both have exactly the same technique!
Pros of lifting 920 pounds: Heavy as fuck. Cons of lifting 920 pounds: Need like 10 warmups to get there. Shit, I get annoyed when I have to warm up 3 or 4 times to get to working weight.
This dude is awesome I hope that power lifting can start drawing in some money so these elite athletes can just continue to break some crazy records. Is the Sheffield going to happen this year that definitely seemed like a step in the right direction
1 Million!

This motivated me to give 900 a go. Came really close to getting it but my spine snapped right before I could break the floor.
You're real funny, dad
At least if you buy a few more Ivanko plates, you can put 900 on the bar without them falling off the end.
But it didn't snap. That's the victory
True. I've seen them do the band thing for trap bars, because the ends tend to be shorter.
Dont feed the animal
You know shit got real when a guy walks into the gym bringing his own plates
Lol it's like that one time George Leeman brought his own fucking barbell into a gym
And takes said plates to the "back room"! Haha
:D on his debut at strength camp! just bowls in eclipsing the door in the middle of Elliotts video! been a fan ever since! instant legendary status!
And proceeds to put on a belt with his own name on it lol

315 for one fking leg, shit's crazy
Very realistic lift, especially if your initials are PR
Yeah, paul rudd can lift this easily
Realistic?! That's superhuman
@Duece Tank only two people I know that can pull 1k that are 200 to 250 pounds are dr deadlift and Jamal browner
No sumo

It starts to look like that when you hit the 500s. I cant imagine at 900+ how light 245 feels.

he's built like that for a reason you goof. he uses his bloated gut to gain leverage and break the bar off the floor a lot easier.

Truth
wrong. good body types have longer arms in comparison to their torsos. if they are both long, then the advantage of having long arms goes away.
+Jay Hilton Not if you have short legs. The length of the pull is shortened and the torso angle is improved with a longer torso. See: Olympic weightlifters.

Dude got traps to the ears. I don't know much about power lifting, but I heard yall measure strength levels with trap sizes haha
its from all the deadlifts
You should be able to shrug for reps about 100lbs higher than your max pull, so I guess it's inevitable to have big traps with big DLs
Bounty Rogue Cinemax more like roid levels
I will say at that strength level.roids dont mean shit thats pure hard work
This is an old video.good to see Pete decided after this era to ease up on the gear.mustve been taking way too much during this time period.the acne and bloat were way out of hand.the other side symptoms were probably really bad.he talked about getting off teen and how dangerous it is.a little something for recovery is one thing but this was obviously too much.and thc kicker is that these days his numbers aren't that far off from this era.good thinking pete.
The way he said "thank you" at the very end is 100% genuine.
Doesn't go very heavy on Bulgarian split squats......reps out 315....fml lol #savage
Every time I watch this I always question how this is possible. Pete is definitely the future of strength.
Steroids or not...
Nearly 4x bodyweight, now that's insane.
Cailer 970@220
Pete has matured and calmed. Just channelling the energy. Now, we are all in trouble! Amazing!!
Nick, this video continues to grow in views! Awesome job again on the editing and content!
Nick Write is the Oprah Winfrey of the fitness industry.
leeman did 907 for 4 reps touch and go, had 5 reps easy but pulled his spinal erector on the last rep. let's see a sub 300lb man do that. no hate, just saying the comparisons to leeman were unjust.
Im a pretty strong lifter myself and jmt and vinnie paz has always been part of the regimen as well.
Go to song if you haven't heard it pete is "aint shit changed" by vinnie paz. Upvote if you k ow what im sayin.
I think that's one of the best deadlifts I've ever seen - both from a weight, control, and technique perspective. Great job!
This is very motivational. I cam in at 500lbs last month. This month Im up to 600. More to go. I will be here one day. Motivation
who is in 2019 here?
Hi.
almost 2020 now
Kind of wish Pete could talk about gear. You could tell he was kind of bullshitting his way around it when nick asked what he attributed his insane progress in the last year to.
he did talk alot about his gear usage in his channel but I think he's trying to protect his images here since he's sponsored by ANIMALPAK (his shirt)
actually he use way way less gear than before
he admitted some week ago under his video
+rekkaTEC training HQ I'm commenting on this only to confirm that Pete did admit he spends less on gear than we would expect
So pete got back on the tren....
He never said he went off of it. He is just taking less.
+Nick Rogers if it was about drugs Bostin Lloyd would be pulling 1500lbs, no hate to Bostin.
Very true.
No he was just relaying what pete said, you're being a bitch.
He holds a narrow stance!!! This is Surreal..he shows.no sign of beimg in distress at all....the epitome of a perfectionist!!! Outstanding!
Placed 920 back on the floor like a gentleman........... I like this guy
That is really impressive. He is lifting 3.75 times his body weight. Really Big guys like 6'9" Thor are only doing about 2.38 times their body weight. That's huge difference. He may be the strongest man in the world by weight ratio. Pound for Pound he is a lot stronger than Thor.
Justin Jahn grow up
Not that impressive given he is taking STEROIDS
sirslaughter00 bruh u act like you could deadlift 920 if u used steroids
Josh Krawczyk not at all. The original commenter is comparing this guy to Thor, claiming that he is stronger “pound for pound” and saying how impressive that is. It isn’t a fair comparison because not only is Thor lifting more, he is also not on STEROIDS. So, not so impressive.
Also, body weight multiples is a stupid way to compare strength.
JEDI MIND TRICKS... LOVE
Just want to know the background song
Met Pete twice at Atilis Gym in Wildwood and EHT in New Jersey, humble and JACKED. Awesome video Nick.
Pete is one of the best in the game. Would love to see a video with Dan Green or Eddie Hall
Mr Rubish it is a pleasure to see you mature into one of the best deadlifters in the world. You have came along ways from the "fuck that shit" yelling and it's great to see. Good luck tomorrow at the boss of bosses.
Apparently I dont even lift.
Now, do you lift ? :)
i think pete can no doubt hit 1000. When he lifted that 920, he held it up there for a few seconds and dropped it with some control, not just a slam, which shows he probably has a lot more strengh in him
I thought he said he wasn't going to do gear anymore. now his arms are full of acne.
He said that last year and has spoken about coming back on shortly after that. His arms have always had bad acne since he first started using more heavily.
He never said he stopped completely
if he wants to become top powerlifter he must use gear its kinda obvious
+Eric Frullaney he stopped for his ex, his new girl is with the program and much better
That's your response to one of the greatest deadlifts ever done at his bodyweight? That was not a lifelong formal pledge or something lol
In his socks and NOT dropping the bar after! Respect.
I've watched this video a dozen times. Can't get over it!
This dude juices harder than a 5 year old on a Capri-Sun binge.
Look at Larry Wheels tho
I love this comment, ha
No shit
How is this kid 24? He looks about 39 y/o. I guess some people just look old.
It's the gear he is on, it takes a toll on your body.
+orks4292 test circulation?
+TraumaER aging is caused by the small amounts of dna that are missed during cell replication. Every new cell had slightly less dna than the original cell.
If you're on gear your cells replicate a LOT faster, which is why your recovery improves. Faster replication = more dna loss = faster aging
*****
He is on gear, he is pretty open about it. He said that he was suppose to be cutting back on it though. But it doesn't look like he has.
+dntwantgglplus damn that's a good response.
STRONGER THAN LARRY WHEELS DEADLIFTS
I started deadlifting when I was 14 repping 155kg at 87kg, I'm now 16 pulling singles of 230kg at 94kg body weight. We both have exactly the same technique!
Pros of lifting 920 pounds: Heavy as fuck.
Cons of lifting 920 pounds: Need like 10 warmups to get there.
Shit, I get annoyed when I have to warm up 3 or 4 times to get to working weight.
Love the way he pulls 920 then kisses his beautiful girlfriend after. Now thats a trophy!
Every extra pound Pete added to his deadlift due to steroids costs him a strand of hair
Music at 10:10 pls anybody?
This dude is awesome I hope that power lifting can start drawing in some money so these elite athletes can just continue to break some crazy records. Is the Sheffield going to happen this year that definitely seemed like a step in the right direction
It's amazing that he had a lot of control when dropping the weights. Impressive lifting.
Damn these guys don't look that young! The juice really makes you look old af lol
lmaaaaoooooo
It really does. Eric and Pete both look easily in their mid to late 30s. I had no idea Pete was the same fucking age as me
Permabulk yup! i thought it was a dude in his mid 30s LOL Eric looks super old too.
+Day Col Lilliebridge
***** yup
what's the background music?
been lookin forever
Pete, u should hire someone to load ur plate
That's really impressive man. Best wishes on all your progress.
This guy has an amazing technique. Not a lot of people can perfect it this way.
He looks atleast 35
