My fixed blade is a damascus blank I bought and did the rest of the work myself. I made a very beautiful and sharp durable knife, so much that I don't want to break it. I never could but still, the feeling of not wanting to damage it. I really favor toward the straight edges of tanto knives, they cut the way I expect and are very easy to sharpen. But I don't mind a drop point that's decently thicc. Also I just don't want to worry about rust on a knife I want to use every day. I love carbon steel but hate rust.
I've been looking at mid price fixed blades for a long time that aren't dirt cheap trash, but also aren't overpriced nonsense. I've been looking at "cold steel" knives, they specifically make tanto baldes that appeal to how I use knives. I believe it is the recon tanto that's like ~$60 USD. Would you have any other suggestions for a fixed blade of that type in that price range? Something I can really beat to death if possible, baton full logs, drop it on rocks, be able to put it away with wet mud and not worry. A work knife.
You make really great videos, keep creating!

Thank you so much for your kind comment and your compliment 😊 that’s sound like a great knife especially when you finished the knife on your own.
When you love carbon steel I can highly recommend the Hultafors GK - this knife is amazing and very durable for hard tasks. It’s not a beauty but a beast.
When you spend around 85$ the ESEE 4 would be a great choice. It’s a proven knife design that can take a lot.
      Kind regards Clemens
