Hi Yash ...your showcasing of Turban and the lone player and singer Maria is a great service to music enthusiasts and to this beautiful instrument. Importance of this podcast is of highlighting a rare instrument which will be extinct soon if not supported by musicians .!!😍
Miss Maria Viksnina, her very special musical instrument Torban and the heavenly music, it's awesome ! Beatcurry is giving us a wonderful opportunity to experience the rare musicians, instruments, history and music around the world. So glad that we could listen to the world's only Torbanist 👍👍👌👌 All the best to Maria, Yash and Beatcurry 👍
Thanks Yash and BeatCurry for bringing this unique instrument to us.... it’s so nice to hear this!!! Maria Thanks to you for keeping this traditional music and instrument alive and expanding the community. Some day BeatCurry shud bring you to India and perform for the music lovers👍 All the best.
Beautiful instrument, beautiful voice, Maria - and thank you both for a fascinating conversation. So glad that this instrument and its rich heritage can live again - even more now that so much tragic destruction is happening in Ukraine.
It's so amazing to see this historied instrument being played both traditionally and improvisationally! I would have loved to hear Maria's encounter with Indian music. This kind of meeting has produced my favorite instruments in the world, and I can see how the torban would shine there!

Enjoyable. The narrator's politeness and sensitivity os impressive but his question on "Russian" influence was innocently misplaced and put the performer in a bit of an ackward position during this difficult time in Ukraine.
What a beautiful video! Maria's charm and enthusiasm are delightful. The instrument is magnificent.
