    Love it, Men incorporate a beer in everything they do. Pale Ale. Great way to teach also. Good commentary mentoring to learn from. Love the knowledge on the various businesses.

    If you were doing a marble floor would you do it in square sections to imitate large tiles or would you do the entire floor as one piece? Thanks in advance

      As a decorator, on the floor I’d totally do that. I’ve seen it done and it looks brilliant. Look into the epoxy solution too.

    Ron, Thank you so so much for doing this video. The most simple and clear explanation which has been an amazing help. As a novice could I ask a question, can this same technique be used on a stretched canvas? Kind Regards Rahul.

    Hi Ron, I'm painting my work counter as faux Carrara, what size area is the best to work on at any one time?

      I'll be painting (2) 17 foot tall columns for a client. Did you figure out what size area is best at 1 time?

    I really enjoy how the the veins seem to be inside the marble. I didn't know you could use beer as a medium! Haha! You said at the need of the video that this was going to be a background, Would you happen to give a idea of what you have in mind for the finished product?

      Is there a video for doing this on a larger scale? Would you recommend doing the full process section by section as it needs to be worked on while wet?

    Beautiful work with marble and wood. Years ago I met a man who said old time craftsmen use to use feathers to create a marble look too. did you ever hear that? Ed

      That’s still common practice, in fact college P and D course by city and guilds use pheasant feathers I’m sure.

    Can this be done on a veneer table top (yes: from IKEA 😀)? I'm longing to change my dining room...

      K.M.J. Coutinho yes, I’d would prime using a high adhesion primer like “BIN” two coats then sand lightly and then follow the steps in the video followed by 2-3 coats of water based polyurethane

    I can.t find anything that explains how to fake marble on a gypsum surface. Do you know any technique? Basically someone asked me to imitate marble on a gypsum (actually CaSO4 • ½ H2O) collumn. Is it possible to apply colors on such a surface without them be absorbed and result a total mess?

    • @RonaldLayman
      @RonaldLayman  7 лет назад +1

      Gabriela Iancu just prime then base coat and do the marble technique.for walls you will want to make it in tiles or squares to fit the the area. This technique is fine but there are many more techniques based on the marble you are trying to imitate.
