      Kratos is similar to Iroh from ATLA. When he was young, he came to ba sing se as a conquerer. After his son’s death, he semi-retired as a general for the fire nation and when the opportunity to free every kingdom from fire nation influence, he came back to ba sing se as a liberator.
      Kratos was blinded for vengeance in his youth. After marying Faye and having Atreus, he became more wise and seek peace. When he came to Asgard, he came as a liberator for the asgardians and all the realms from Odin.

    Odin is worse compared to zeus, Olympian gods has Zeus's back but odin own family wanted him crushed by kratos, and heimdall blindly believed him, refusing see beyond the deception of odin.

    • @Nematoda4ever
      @Nematoda4ever Год назад +209

      the difference that Olympian Gods got corrupted, thats why they see Kratos as a Threat when Kratos just want Zeus die, and Kratos come along with Titans also make they see Kratos as enemy, thats why they back up Zeus, even tho its just 'temporary'.
      on Norse case, most of Gods knew that Odin are beyond assholes and they did not get corrupted, only a few like Heimdall who keep licking Odin's dirty feet.

    • @nicobenji0248
      @nicobenji0248 Год назад +145

      Zeus is much worse. Odin killed them for a purpose. Zeus killed his own sons all the time. He killed Kratos's brother because of prophecy. He raped countless human women like Kratos's mother. He abuses people like Hefestus to make his lightning bolts. He's just an authoritarian king that does whatever he wants. Zeus was far worse and brutal for his own entertainment.
      Odin is just the better written villain so they know how to make you hate him more. Stories especially Sony games are a lot better written now than back when the OG GoW came out. If these writers wrote the dialogue for the originals even with the same plot I garuntee you'll hate Zeus more.

      Odin is the just the most adept in magic something HE HAD TO STUDY AND LEARN mostly from Freya who they even state is equal to him in magical prowess.
      Kratos at full power murders everyone hell him holding back murdered most and beat the rest into submission while allowing others to stand with him not because he “needed” their help. The sisters of fate couldn’t undo kratos’ existence tf is Odin gonna do with his one eye? Thor and gut wound and heimdall with a busted arm.
      None aren’t even immortal without idunn apples did you know this?

    • @Lardo137
      @Lardo137 5 месяцев назад

      @@Marshkoon “HE HAD TO STUDY AND LEARN” Oh my god, you sound like one of those cartoon jocks who think “reading” and “getting higher than a C grade” are for “loser nerds.” Odin’s magical skill isn’t innate to him, he had to learn it, but that doesn’t mean he’s weaker. And you've apparently forgotten that Zeus' lightning isn't even his originally, it was forged for him by the Cylopses.
      Again: Odin is the most formidable opponent Kratos has ever faced, that is a canonical fact. None of the Olympians were capable of just snapping their fingers and fully paralyzing Kratos with pure magic, yet you negative-IQ-nancies make up the most hilarious mental gymnastics to act like that makes Odin WEAKER.
      “Kratos at full power murders everyone” No, that’s just your delusional fanboy brain talking. Both the game itself and official word of god show proof of the exact opposite. Your only “proof” is ignoring what the game and developers said and acting like every instance of Kratos getting beat up or overpowered is him secretly being a masochist who willingly puts his friends and family in danger. Did you think Kratos was “holding back” WHEN HIS SON WAS BEING KIDNAPPED? Did you think Kratos was “LeTTiNG AtReUS MAkE DEciSiOns” when Odin was choking him? Or murdering Brok?
      (Funny, you parasites NEVER talk about how Baldur overpowered Kratos and kidnapped his son right in front of him. And the same magical arrows that stun even Kratos don’t even make Baldur flinch due to his immortality. You don’t talk about it for the same reason you pretend that all the lore about the Greek Gods is 100% accurate and literally canon, but the Norse Gods are just metaphor or exaggerated. Hypocrisy at its finest. Real funny how you say "context" while ignoring 99% of it to enable your delusions.)
      And since I know your early-onset Alzheimer’s brain forgets, Kratos was incapable of beating Heimdall without Draupnir. You maggots will parrot Kratos’ “I’ve killed greater gods” line and ignore the entire hour of gameplay, story, and script afterwards. If you activate Fury without using the Spear, Heimdall dodges every one of Kratos’ “Spartan Rage” attacks. The developers literally said Heimdall was unbeatable without the spear. Kratos HIMSELF agrees after to forge the specific anti-Heimdall weapon instead of just walking up to him and killing him, and this is when Kratos explicitly WANTS to kill Heimdall after hearing of the prophecy. But it’s just one of the many, many things you clowns refuse to talk about.

    The best soundtrack of the game is definitely "Ragnarok". Bear McCreary could have gone for an epic battle music for this war but he went for his heart , slowed down the tempo , no huge percussions , only strings and horns , creating a very dramatic piece which is the reality of any war. Going through the enemies killing them one by one to reach Odin , while hearing this music , you could feel deep inside that you didn't want this war to happen.

      Just like real life. People don't just move on and forgive you every single time. Sometimes they'll blame you for the death of their loved ones and not accept your apology. I'm glad they did it like that to show that you can't always mend broken bridges. Sometimes they stay broken. I think in sindris case he's upset at himself more than Kratos and atreus because he's the one that couldn't fish out all of of Broks souls. Atreus is just his failure being shown to him in physical form. I'm sure sindri will eventually move on and forgive himself and atreus, but he may also just as likely end up never being able to let go. Just like real people who aren't able to let go either.

He knows he is the reason Brok doesn't even have an after life, so he's lashing out and blaming Atreus and Kratos for bringing Odin into his home. But everyone was fooled, him included. The line where he says he gave and they kept taking is true, except for the fact that he's looking at it after Broks death. Of course you'd give for your friends - your family. He can't process what happened, and he never got over Brok's death the first time, either. There's a chance he might come around if we ever see him again, but that kind of shit will ruin you forever unless you process it properly.

    This may be an unpopular opinion, while the battle was great and spectacular, I feel a little bit underwhelmed. Where was the army of hel? Jormungandr was only in this for barely any time, and there were no great armies on screen. It would have been awesome to see Kratos actually commanding somewhat of an army, seen actual armies fighting, tougher enemies, etc. This segment was great, but it seemed rushed, trying to fit in as many characters as possible in a little timeframe, only giving them a couple of seconds to a minute or two of seeing them in their glory that they deserve. Asgard itself was underwhelming as well, it seemed more of a Midgardian village than a kingdom of the gods.

It wasn’t meant to be a war of gods between gods, but everyone against Odin.

    • @alex-marquette
      @alex-marquette Год назад +13

      Odin's plan to stop Ragnarok from attacking Asgard was to have the dwarves build those war machines that could destroy the realm towers. When you first visit Asgard you notice that Tyr's temple is sunk and demolished and that was an attempt by Odin to prevent Realm Travel to Asgard. Once he realized that the dwarves had built another way to forcing realm travel he knew that the machines would be needed to destroy the towers themselves.
      Odin knew that the story of Ragnarok told to him was that all realms would be destroyed, he attempted to save Asgard for himself and only himself. Odin only cared about himself in the end and he used others to get what he wanted. However we see that the real story of Ragnarok the one not told to Odin was that only the gods would fall, due to their egos.

To teach him a lesson, Sindri knew there would be innocent casualties during this battle even so he made it seem that Atreus, and by extension Kratos, used Sindri again to help in their own goal and resulted in the death of more innocent people. Thors death was so undeserving, yet that is why it is perfect. Odin killed him for no other reason other than because Odin suddenly realised Thor would become a liability or worse, a problem to deal with. Hence he killed him on the spot and tried to blame it on anyone else so his image would be intact. This solidifies his entire character from what everyone opposing Odin has said about him, and proves that he is nothing but a villain with no redeeming qualities and thus must be stopped.

    Still sad that Thor didn't join the fight against Odin. I also hoped Odin had more stages, more power.

    I need to find the ragnarok ost version which plays when you fight alongside Thrud. It is so epiiiic.

    Kratos becoming a kind hearted hero after our 18 year journey with him being an anti hero just makes me wanna reach into the screen and hug him.

    "I do not want this war"
    yet it feels the only important war Kratos has had.
    first time he took on the role of a general and not a soldier.
    a true "god of war"
    good writing is good writing.

    Dissapointing final act. Felt rushed and unfinished.

    It's very slight but right before Odin appears, Thor nods to Kratos. I thought for sure he was going to join the fight against Odin, what came next was not what I expected. But in retrospect, it kinda makes sense. I mean, Odin would stand no chance against Kratos and Thor together, especially with support from Freya & Atreus.
